I have received many excellent suggestions. I'll narrow it down to 5 options so you guys can decide:
1) Mythological beings throughout art history;
2) Nature motives in Expressionism;
3) Renoir;
4) Early/proto Renaissance (Giotto, Donatello, Fra Angelico);
5) Klimt.

Seems downright unnatural to me that #22 refers to feeling up his girlfriend as “petting.” OMG so gross, who says that?
it was a pretty standard term in 1950s America. Watch any old teen sock-hop or beach movie and see.
