Now that the emotions are tad bit more down I am thinking about the way High keeper behaved today.
I would admit the words did feel very blaming and hurtful, almost made me feel like they don't even see Pili as a outworlder to care anymore or like they ever did tbh and moreso like a sick animal that needs to be put down and stayed far away from which given how they view Corruption feels somewhat valid but also is a very narrow and un-empathetic view.
The narrow mindedness coming from the keepers today was crazy though. The actual reason that causes there disregard for Corruption is obviously not shared by Pili, for them the consequences were different and for Pili they are completely different. Unlike the keepers who got there kingdom destroyed and humanity taken binding them to curse of immortality for Pili the same corruption overtime molded into him almost becoming one with him. Only significant consequence it did have for Pili was memory loss but even that changed so really speaking in a way corruption didn't put the same level of harm to Pili the way it did towards High Keepers. Corruption doesn't hinder Ace at all if we are being honest, it makes him stronger, keeps him company in loneliness and is like a warm hug giving him power and purpose at some degree.
Pili doens't fuck with his curse of immortality either so he understands keepers not liking corruption but the High Keepers are very much deadset on "Corruption=bad" and Ace being a Harbinger of 4 in there head making him a lost cause that can't be saved.
So I assume Ace is like a monster made from the thing the High Keepers seem to hate the most, and since Ace likes the corruption (and is also it's harbinger) that probably only fuels the hate more. Love the irony here of both keepers and Pili being corrupted yet still disliking each other though. Only other example he had of this was corrupted Pangi and corrupted Pili before but now this is also added in that list.
The "corruption making you a puppet" point is so debatable because we see Pili having a command over it, Bad also having his conscience wants with his corrupted self, Pangi fighting and choosing to get cured when he was corrupted and even the keepers who are corrupted yet still push so hard for the cure and are fully anti corruption.
Now the victim part. Begrudgingly I am willing to admit that fine yes High keepers weren't there to make every single choice for Pili and blaming them for everything would maybe be potentially wrong (not really but for the sake of argument let's roll with that) but THEY DID make a choice for him. Which again I am gonna be generous and count the red faction as a lapse of judgement and not telling about the corruption as again another ignorance based choice but those still did eventually happen and maybe just a apology or acknowledgement of mistakes wasn't enough to make up for all damage. Yes keepers aren't the reason behind the strains Pili's relationships have but those "bad choices" made by them did cause a level of damage. But then again if you put corruption on one side and Keepers on another and ask Pili to choose based on how those both beings have been towards him in the past the answer becomes clear.
They could have revived him like they did with Aimsey, they knew things and they had the power and they didn't use it. Pili in fact is a victim because THEY brought the outworlders here and didn't tell them since the beginning that dying completely can cause your soul to catch corruption which is parasite, and they knew that and only told all the information to others when the obelisks had shown up and Mocha was already dead, they never even attempted to stop the fight fully knowing this information, and the red faction fuck up had already happened by this point. THEY SAT THERE AND WATCHED KNOWING FULLY WELL THE DANGER THE DEATH COULD HAVE CAUSED so how are they not to be blamed here?
Anyways a big fudge you to that one High Keeper, I hope your next realm also ends up in corruption or maybe you realise that you have been corrupted for so long that you can't get cured or maybe lose this immortality and die as soon as you get cured lol
