Here's proof that everything is connected
On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Michael Avenatti with trying to extort Nike of tens of millions of dollars. The charges bring into view a head-spinning array of connections between various high-profile scandals in the past few years.
My first not a BNHA piece! Wa-hooo! Actually, this is for a crossover fic, so it’s kind of going to two fandoms, Avengers and Assassin’s Creed.
Anyway, this is for the positively addictive fanfic of esama’s, High Profile! It is, as I mentioned, a crossover fic. It’s very well written and a great read with little easter eggs all along the story. I love it! Hoping for more, as always!
And, as always, fuck physical autonomy. And hands.
Welcome to the Callie show.
If a case becomes really high profile (in this case, a teen is killed as the 5th victim of what's believed to be the same perp, then victim #6 is a family member of the lead Detective on those cases) - how does a major PD like LAPD handle it? Particularly things like media inquiries/attention? It's occurred to me that since it IS so dramatic of a turn of events (especially the most recent two victims), local media might be in a bit of a frenzy on it, and it'd be weird not to address that, right?
There is a civilian position in the PD where their sole job is public relations and police-to-citizens interactions. They would create the police’s official statement on the matter but the statement needs to be approved by the city manager. City managers are administrative managers of a city, in a council–manager form of city government.
In a major media frenzy, the police’s PR would coordinate with the city manager for a official stance or statement and what questions to anticipate. But that won’t stop reporters from asking individual officers various questions. When this happens, there is a media relations policy that every cop knows: don’t say ‘No Comment’; if you don’t know, say that you don’t know; do not speculate; redirect questions if need be; and direct the reporter to the official media spokespeople.
If necessary, there would be a press conference where a ranking officer who has media relations training (usually the Public Information Officer) or even the Police Chief themselves, will give the official statement and answer questions. When it comes to an unexpected media frenzy, there is saying that is used: “Tell The Truth. Tell It Early. Tell It Often.” This stops reporters from trying to create a story from little-to-no information.

The Ultimate Guide to Finding High Profile Brands Near You
With thousands of cannabis brands on the market, it can be difficult to separate the hype from the actual quality. Knowing which brands are truly top-tier requires a bit of research and a reliable way to find them locally. This guide helps you navigate the landscape to find the most consistent and effective products available.
Identifying a High Profile Brand in a Crowded Market
A truly premium brand is defined by its consistency and its commitment to clean cultivation. When you choose a high profile brand, you are paying for the peace of mind that comes with rigorous third-party testing. These companies often share their lab results openly, proving that their products are free from harmful contaminants.
What to Look for in Lab Results
Lab results, or Certificates of Analysis (COAs), provide a detailed breakdown of the product's chemical makeup. They show the levels of cannabinoids and terpenes, but more importantly, they confirm the absence of mold, pesticides, and heavy metals. Always look for brands that make these reports easily accessible via QR codes on their packaging.
The Importance of Sustainable Packaging
Top brands are also leading the way in environmental responsibility. Many are moving away from single-use plastics in favor of recyclable glass or compostable materials. Supporting these brands through your local dispensary helps push the entire industry toward more sustainable practices, which benefits the planet and the community in the long run.
Going Beyond Hello to Build Community Connections
The best dispensaries act as community hubs where people can gather and share their experiences. By going beyond hello and hosting local events or educational seminars, these shops become more than just stores. They become a vital part of the local neighborhood, fostering a sense of belonging and shared knowledge among consumers.
Participating in Local Cannabis Events
Many dispensaries sponsor local art shows, clean-up events, or educational workshops. Participating in these events is a great way to meet like-minded people and learn more about the plant in a social setting. It also allows you to provide direct feedback to the shops and brands that you support the most.
Attend "Meet the Grower" nights for direct insights.
Participate in community charity drives hosted by shops.
Join local advocacy groups to stay informed on laws.
Follow your favorite dispensaries on social media for updates.
Look for a "Community" or "Events" tab on dispensary websites.
Sign up for newsletters to get invites to exclusive gatherings.
Bring a friend to an educational seminar to learn together.
Support businesses that give back to your local neighborhood.
Conclusion
Your cannabis journey is enhanced when you support brands and dispensaries that prioritize quality and community. By looking for lab-tested products and engaging with your local cannabis scene, you become a more informed and responsible consumer. Use digital platforms to find the best local dispensaries and brands near you and enjoy a better cannabis experience.
