Merrimack boys win afternoon track session First-place finishes from Chase Sweeney (long jump, 19-02.50; 1,000, 2:50.60), Jarrod Ottman (3,000, 9:27.60) and Ben Parent (600, 1:29.20) led Merrimack to first in an 11-team field of boys indoor track teams at the University of New Hampshire's Paul Sweet Oval on Sunday. The Tomahawks scored 81 points for the win, followed by Windham (42 points), Dover (33), Pelham (27) and Manchester Central (26) to round out the top five. Bishop Guertin also competed and finished 10th with six points, courtesy of Lucas Atwood finishing third in the shot with a throw of 42-06.25 and Gabe Madonna's fifth-place long jump of 17-07.75. Other Tomahawks in the top three were Joe Eichman (third in long jump, 18-02.00; and 55-meter, 6.90), Jacob Marden (third in 55 hurdles, 8.70) and Ben Sweesy (third in 1,500, 4:35.30). Merrimack's 4x400 relay foursome of Jacob Myers, Parent, Sweeney and Sean Sylvester ran to victory in 3:52.00. Picking up wins for the Tomahawks were Siaoli Wright (300, 43.40), Callie Dwyer (600, 1:45.80), Erica Lane (1,000, 3:18.90) Others in the top three for Merrimack were Grace Corbett (second in 1,500, 5:17.90), Sarah House (third in 1,500, 5:20.60), Bailey Carrillo (second in 3,000, 10:59.30), Sophie Kim (third in 3,000, 11:18.50), Wright (second in 55 hurdles, 9.30) and Charlotte Perry (third in long jump, 15-00.00). The lone individual winner for the Cardinals was Danielle Poublon with a high jump of 5-04.00. Other top three finishes for BG were by Cameryn Nichols (third in 55-meter, 7.60), Julie Nigro (third in the 600, 1:46.60), Ellie Goyette (second in 1,000, 3:21.00) and Bridget Soraghan (second in shot put, 29-04.75). BG and Merrimack finished one-two in the 4x400 relay. The Cardinals foursome of Poublon, Meaghan Wilson, Nigro and Breanna Veilleux finished in 4:26.70, while Ashley Murray, Lane, Dwyer and Wright ran a 4:31.70 for the Tomahawks. Campbell boys, girls 5th in a.m. The Campbell boys team tied Kingswood for fifth out of 12 teams with 22 points during Sunday morning's session at the University of New Hampshire's Paul Sweet Oval. The Cougars finished behind meet winner Merrimack Valley (58.50), runner-up Oyster River (40), Epping (33.50) and Sanborn Regional (27). Individuals in the top three for Campbell were Sam Munnelly, who finished second in the 1,000 (2:56.90), and the long jump duo of Luke Hogan (18-01.25) and Trevor Gomes (18-00.50), who finished second and third. The Cougars foursome of Munnelly, Hogan, Harrison Hidalgo and Nathan Bazzocchi ran a 3:59.80 for third in the 4x400 relay. Campbell's girls team also finished fifth out of 12 team, scoring 28 points and finishing behind Oyster River (80 points), Merrimack Valley (35), Newmarket (29) and Sanborn Regional (29). Individuals in the top three were Lexi Putzlocker, who threw the shot 28-06.75 for second, while Sammy Molinari was third in the 1,500 (5:38.40) and Savannah Reinitzer finished third in the 300 (47.20).
