“lemme put it in baby, c’mon.” paul’s lips brush over the sensitive skin of your neck with every word. he mouths hotly against your pulse, as if he’s struggling not to sink his canines into your flesh. he feels like such a fucking leech. every instinct in his shapeshifting body is telling him to claim, claim, claim.
he pants like a mutt when he grinds his bulge against you. the only thing stopping him from slipping inside being his cargo shorts and your cotton panties. he can smell your essence, your arousal, your sweet fucking slick. yet you’re still teasing him. denying him of what he wants, what he needs. his whole body aches for you.
his body hovers above you. his visibly strong arms supporting him, so he doesn’t crush you with his weight. your legs are wrapped loosely around his hips, giving him access to your sweet heat. his supernatural warmth encompasses your half naked body, the worn t-shirt and underwear starting to feel like too many layers.
when you teasingly roll your hips back into his, he lets out a full body shudder. he full on moans into your neck, the sound going straight into your ear. his hand clenches your sheets into a fist so hard, you can hear the fabric rip on the corners of the bed. it’s like a new wave of desperation washes over him.
“c’mon pretty,” paul pants against your jaw. the hardness of his boner presses on your cloth-covered clit deliciously when he gives another roll of his hips. despite feeling good, the friction isn’t enough. he trails kisses up to your lips and huffs like he’s already fucking you.
“you want me.” he says it like he’s trying to convince himself more than you. his lips brush yours as he speaks in a mumbly tone, “please, baby. just say yes. lemme make you feel good..”
he shifts so his knees support his weight and he can grope at your body freely with his large hands. they slide under the hem of your baggy, sleep shirt, and immediately find purchase on your waist. his calloused palms tickle your skin as they slide up and down your torso, occasionally squeezing at your curves. he loves your body. healthy and warm. all his. his to protect and love and worship. his mate.
his hands slide up to your chest, groping eagerly at your bare breasts from under your sleep-shirt. he leans down so his front is covering yours once more and collides your mouths together. soft, needy sounds travel from his mouth to yours, as the kiss progressively gets more and more heated. he needs you. why are you teasing him like this?
“c’mon, c’mon..” he whispers into the kiss. his lips part desperately against yours while you kiss him back with just as much fervor. he swipes his thumbs over your nipples, while his hot tongue dances around with yours. he’s trying to do anything to convince you.
by the time the kiss breaks, paul is panting hotly against your lips. his eyes are lidded with need, and he’s rock hard against your core.
“please?” he pleads once more. there’s broken tone to his voice and his brows are furrowed with desperation. he nudges his nose against yours affectionately, his heart beating a mile a minute. all it takes is one single nod of your head, to have paul flipping you over onto your hands and knees. he practically rips your cotton underwear off, with promises to please his mate.

MASTERLIST
Just like any other day.
. . .
It hit Paul like a freight train and caused sweat to form in ice cold drops on his otherwise warm skin. He had just returned from patrol with Embry and was spread over Emily's dining table whilst stuffing his face with the food she had cooked for them. Everything was fine and dandy. It was a pleasant day and the weather was nice and cool. Soon, he would be done with his daily obligations and then he would go home.
But then Sam came up behind Emily who was standing next to her mate's seat at the head of the table, one hand on the frame and other on her hip as she listened to Seth drone on and on about something that Paul's voice refused to register due to what unfolded next.
The pack leader's strong arms snaked around the waist of his delicate lover as he nuzzled his nose into her hair until the tip had found its way past the dark strands and against her tender cheek until it was caressing and tracing the scars he had left on her.
All blood drained from Paul's skin and something in his head clicked. His surroundings faded to a dim buzz and the next few moments went by in a blur.
And then he was standing in front of home.
“Paul!” You yelp in surprise at the sight of your nude lover. He usually dresses himself at Sam's house after patrols before coming home to you.
Since you are human and your initial experience with the pack had both been overwhelming -thanks to your lover imprinting on you the first chance he was given- and traumatizing -as said lover who was much worse at controlling his primal urges back then had lost control at the sight of you because he was so overcome with raw, foreign emotion he did not know how to process-, you prefer to keep by yourself near the outskirts of the community in a house that Paul had moved in with you upon your request.
The pack life is simply too loud and… public for you; a city girl used to her secluded places and treasured privacy.
You notice that Paul is panting -which is very unlike him due to his superhuman strength- and a redness outlines his eyes when his huge form approaches yours. “Are you— Paul!” You gasp and nearly flinch from both the shock and impulse when he lets his heavy body collapse on its knees in front of you. “What the hell happen—” you never know with your hyper emotional mate.
His long fingers push your sweater up and out of his way so he can stroke the soft skin of your stomach with the tip of his nose, his head nuzzling into your chest as his dark eyes flutter close and he inhales a deep whiff of your scent. It is the only thing that never fails to calm your hot blooded lover down.
“What's wrong?” Your voice lowers to a concerned mumble as you peer down at him, your fingers cradle the dusky skin of his handsome face -as much of it as you can reach- and your nails rake through the male's jet black mass of short hair. “Honey?” He only behaves like this if something went wrong or when he is in need of comfort, which are both rare occurrences as he is the usual caretaker in your relationship. But you aren't a complete stranger to him acting like this.
Ever the uncommunicative one, the male only sighs— no, whimpers against your skin as if he's wounded and softly feels your skin with gentle caresses of his fingers. Words require thought, patience and wisdom. Unfortunately, Paul's instinctual mind runs too fast for those things to catch up with it in time and rash actions get carried out before better sense can supply him from its store.
“Paul…” A shiver runs down your spine when his lips that had begun to softly peck your navel find their way up your stomach before they halt to ghost over the healed, plum coloured lesions that stretch across your tender skin in menacing shapes akin to claw marks. “What are you doing?” Though he never mentions or discusses it verbally due to the guilt he feels, sometimes Paul becomes hyper aware of the scars of his unmediated passion that mar your skin and tries to make up for them in his own wordless ways.
Except, this only ever happens when you're underdressed or the two of you are indulging in activities typical to couples and the sight of them reminds him of their cause. He has never stormed into the house stark naked and marched up to you like an unreadable oversized pup on the brink of tears like this.
“I am sorry.” You nearly jump due to how unexpected the sound of his words are. Usually he just sulks in silence. “Baby, I am so sorry” Paul never speaks when he is in one of these moods. Especially when he is experiencing bouts of guilt for his actions during his first encounter with you. “Oh, God” his body grows heavy against yours as he practically pushes his face into the crevices like he wants to become one with them and fill them back up to their original state with parts of himself.
“Paul— oof!” Your smaller body yields to his weight and the ground slips from underneath your feet. “D- Did the guys say something?” You fear the worst as Paul's protective hands catch you before your back can hit the wooden ground and you cannot help but whimper from how his lips lock with the scars in thick, desperate and hurried apologetic kisses.
Paul and his pack mates play rough and sometimes they go too far with the teasing. So though he clings to the tough guy act in front of them, he dismantles into you once he is home if their words ever get too far. Yes, the tussling and fighting is not enough if it's serious. And just sometimes, when it gets too much for him to bottle it up, he shares some of it with you. But most often not, since he knows how you feel about the pack and he does not like to worry you.
“I am sorry it has taken me this long to say it out loud, baby… but I am so sorr—”
“Paul, hey, look at me” but he refuses to detach himself from your skin in his shame, his big hands safely holding your whole body up against his. “You don't have to—” you cannot help it, you hate to see him like this when you know how badly he regrets it. You hate for him to hurt.
“But I do” he nearly growls against your skin, his fingers tightening on your hips to brace himself against the war in his head. “There’s not a day that goes by where I don't regret it.”
“But you didn't do it on purpose, baby” you sigh when he refuses to let you see him. Your fingers try to pry his stubborn face upwards. “And you worked and improved for us, didn't you, hm?” Your eyes earnestly search for his. “Don't sell yourself so short.” One of your hands rubs his tense shoulders to try and ease their guilt-stricken stiffness.
“All the same” ever the stubborn knucklehead. “I should have done this a long time ago. But I was selfish and I was afraid that if I verbally mentioned it…” He hesitates and the love you behold for him renders you helpless against a burning urge to reassure him.
“My love—”
“I was scared you'd get reminded of it and…” He takes a deep breath and then gulps down the bile in his throat, blinking back tears. “L- Leave me…” Paul's voice is barely a whisper and your heart breaks at how vulnerable he sounds. “And I am such an asshole for it because it had more to do with my fear of you leaving me than you reliving your trauma…”
“Paul…” You blink and try to focus, but his warm gropes and caresses falter your steam of thought.
“I love you, I really do, so much” he peeks up at you just a little, dark eyes frightened for the first time since the day he scarred you. “Please forgive me. I don't ever want to lose you. I know what I did was irreversible but I swear I'll spend the rest of my life fixing it… if you'll let me.” You shake your head.
Does he really think there's an off chance that you will leave?
“Paul” when you cup the side of his face, he hides into your stomach again. “Hey,” you try to duck your face closer to his. make him look at you. “Look at me” your intended request comes out an order due to all the emotions you feel. “I forgave you a long time ago. That's the reason why I am still here” you finally manage to place your forehead against his, making your breaths mingle with his. “I love you more, so much more.” He opens his mouth to drone so you beat him to it.
“Now shut up and kiss me.”
Paul is taken aback at your demand, his widening eyes prove it. But as surprising as it may be for him, this isn't something that was unresolved for you until today -unlike him- so you aren't as overwhelmed with angst. Because your mate has proven his love, devotion and worthiness of you through his actions over the course of your relationship. He has shown you that he loves you and that he is sorry for what he did.
If anything, his innocently intimate and lovestruck worship of your body has fired it up instead of making it sentimental.
And so you want him.
Bad.
“But—”
“No buts. Kiss me.” You are breathless as you urge him to do so, your hands try to pull his face closer into yours although in vain because his bigger and stronger form remains unbudging.
Paul's eyes search yours for assurance. “... Yes, ma'am” he whispers once finds it and the next thing you know, you're being pounced down onto the floor with his arms cased around you to protect you from the impact.
And though you always feared that him getting physical in this manner would trigger you, you giggle against his mouth that he drags across your chest and up your throat to clamp onto yours. Your arms circle around his broad shoulders and instead of trying to repel him -like you suspected you would despite having grown to trust him now- you pull him closer as you whimper into the tender yet hungry kiss, feeling your legs climb the lower half of his body instinctively.
“Paul~” you needily blabber against his tongue that he uses to enjoy the sweetness of your mouth, his balmy lips enveloping everything your mouth has to offer in tight, big kisses. “Mm~” your chest aches from the strain the lack of oxygen puts on your lungs but your sparking nether regions only scoot closer to his that you feel riling up against yours, your hips grinding against his and limbs tightening around his rock hard body.
“Mine” he growls against your mouth when he has no choice but to pull apart at last, his coarse fingers groping you in greedy handfuls while peeling away any fabric that hurdles their path to your skin. “All mine” you moan at the feeling of his teeth grazing against the tender skin of your boobs that he sprays with kisses and licks. “God, mouse, I love you so much” the strength he puts into pushing everything you wear on your upper body away from it leaves you breathless. You love the thrill you feel when his touch feels like he is on the horizons of the dangers he is capable of. When he is so worked up and desperate that he cannot help but get rough because your sweet sweat and arousing body heat fires him up the way it does. You are addicted to the sight of him not giving in to his beastly impulses despite all that because he loves you so much. It is scary, yes. But it turns you on too.
“I love you too, Paul” though he likes to act cocky and all-knowing most of the time, you know he needs to hear it too. Underneath all that knucklehead play fighting and manhandling of his, he needs reassurance just as much as the next person and though he tries not to burden you as his different lifestyle is hard enough for you as it is, you don't have to be part wolf to feel him and hear his heart.
“You're so perfect…” The way he peppers wet kisses along your cheekbone whilst relieving you of the rest of your clothing causes for your eyes to flutter close to cherish the tingling feeling that sparks your body alight. “Just—” when you try to reach for him to also make it enjoyable for him, he plants your hands above your head and softens your confused pout with a kiss. “Just let me take care of you today, yeah? Don't worry about anything.”
“But— oh!” He reaches for the mating mark that sits on the right side junction of your neck where a she-wolf's mating glad would be. And though you lack the physical features to feel him through it, the meaning that it holds for Paul serves as a bridge for the biological gap. “Oh…” You turn your head sideways to rub your cheek against his shaved one, your hips roll into his hand that dips between your legs and you shudder against Paul's hot tongue that drags across the impressions of his teeth that crevice your skin.
“Taste so fuckin' sweet, baby” there is a strain in Paul's voice because of how much strength it is taking him to hold himself back from impaling you full of his cock right there. “So perfect” the lower half of his body leaps down so he can rub his bare erection against the softness of your leg.
You moan at the feeling. “Paul,” you whisper into his hair, the feeling of his sharp teeth causing for slick to sizzle up to your entrance from the inside. He growls out a quiet yes, baby against the mark, one hand constantly caressing the dents running along the width of your stomach. “Don't hold back” you go to touch his rock hard cock and he grunts in denial, seizing your wrist in his fingers faster than you can blink.
His face comes up to dominate your vision. “No, mouse, tonight is all about you” another kiss squishes out any protest you can form and when his invasive tongue has your nostrils flared from the breathlessness, Paul drags it down your writhing body in the company of heavy pecks until his mouth is between your thighs and he is propping one up with a broad shoulder and the other with his hand that isn't occupied with caressing the evidence of his temper.
“Paul—!” He knows how shy you get when he is between your legs like this.
But it's not his fault you taste so fulfilling.
“Sh, little mouse, you're perfect” he kisses any and all insecurities away with gentle kisses, the hand that cases one of your thighs stroking the tender inside with its thumb. “And you taste so good too” he takes his time worshiping your pelvis, deliberately leaving out your pussy to save the best for last. And though you pretend to disapprove and whine for him to come back up and just fuck you instead, his soft kisses that vibrate into your skin every time he moans at the feeling of your nether skin touching his slightly chapped lips, you find yourself helplessly crying out for more at the end.
“Paul, please!” You feel his mouth twist into a smirk and your hands dart to finger his thick hair to withstand the sensation of his mouth hovering over your petals.
“Please what, mouse?” You roll your eyes at the taunt in his voice.
“Please touch me!” Your fingers impatiently tug at his short strands and he grins.
“Oh, mouse, but I am touching you” you whine and his shoulders vibrate under your knees from his devilish mirth.
“Y- You know what I mean!” Though your cheeks are already aflush, you feel new heat seep underneath the layers of the reddened skin.
“Mmm, but I thought you wanted me to—”
“Paul!” You desperately whine and he lets out a deep cackle.
“Fine, geez” he is so mean when he gets smug. You go to scowl down at him but he takes the mound between your legs in a deep handful and feels the slit between your petals in a vertical caress of his thumb before you do and you end up letting out a loud moan instead. “Needy much?” You bite your lip and wantonly roll your hips closer to his mouth. “Tsk, tsk. Impatient little mouse…” The tip of his digit presses between your nether lips that are dusted with pearly discharges of your arousal and a cherry red flush and your hips buck in anticipation. “You're lucky that you're so pretty and I like you so much…” Your spine trembles in your skin when you feel the coarse skin of his thumb against your ultrasensitive folds. “Because I typically don't appreciate things so small ordering me around…” Your back arches when he finally sticks the hot tip of his tongue between your nether lips.
“Oh…” You feel your toes curl. “More, please, Paul, more.”
He is so enchanted by your sweet scent and addictive taste that he is ignorant to anything that isn't your body. “But you, my dear mouse, you're something else…” His strong hands take your ass in them and he firmly kneads the plump skin, talking pretty much over you with a lust-drunken madness. You mewl out a moan at the feeling and Paul growls at the sound you make, pulling you closer to his mouth as he presses an open kiss to your pussy. “Fuck,” he groans and licks his lips that glisten from your slick, his own tip leaking at the taste of you. “I've never tasted anything like you before and I sure as hell am never gonna get tired of it.”
“Paul!” you cry out when his tongue twirls against your entrance, his nose rubbing against your clit to caress it with the tip as he begins to eat you out.
His growl that vibrates your soaked folds to a buzzing life causes your eyes to roll to the back of your head. “Paul” you moan breathlessly, his name turning to a prayer as you tremble on the verge of releasing more slick.
“Gimme that sweet cum, baby, let me taste it” your lips part and you can't help but arch into his mouth with need. His hands are merciless, the one on your ass kneads it with rough gropes as the other massages the underside of your thighs in broad, determined strokes. You moan and writhe against him, your vision blurring at the hot waves that take over your body.
“I am gonna— oh, Paul!” He moans against you as you tremble and then release more even slick into his mouth. His tongue is in heaven as he greedily licks up all he can get.
“Fucking hell, baby” the grainy tip of his tongue pokes and prods at your entrance, working the little hole open. “I can't wait to stuff this pretty little pussy full of my pups.”
“Mmm, oh fuck, Paul, oh fuuuck” when he finally penetrates the tight barrier and his hot tongue invades your sensitive cavern, the burning knot between your hips gets tighter. Paul moans at the feeling of your delicate walls and though the vibrations of his doing so shakes you to your core, you cannot help but greedily wrap your legs around his head to both stay in place and withstand the pleasure.
“Oh, God, Paul, ’m so close!” Your voice is a breathless mewl and he growls at the vulnerable sound, his cock hurting from need. “Oh, fuck” you tremble so badly that you'd collapse into the ground if your knees weren't propped up by your mate's shoulders. “Oh fuck, oh fuck” Paul’s jaw flexes against your thighs when he begins to fuck you with his tongue, one hand fumbling for your cunt before he tickles the hood with his thumb. Your back arches and you clench your eyes shut, your chest heaving as you gasp out his name.
“Tsk, tsk, mouse” his hot breath fans your sensitive folds and you can't help but whimper at the feeling of his middle finger replacing his tongue. “You need to relax.” His hand that holds your ass pats your cheek in an endearing yet condescending way and your whole body tenses up at the touch even more. “I'm gonna take care of you, baby” you cannot help but rock your hips to his finger stretching your insides out against it. “You're mine and I'll never let you get hurt again, I promise” he croons before pressing a tender kiss to your clitorial nub. “You know that, right?” He kisses the slick covered inside of your thigh next to soothe your shaking body. “Tell me you know you're mine” his possessive words make the heat between your legs to go haywire.
“I am yours, Paul” you breathlessly promise him before letting out a moan when he tickles your folds with his tongue in a praising manner, satisfaction breaking out on his handsome face at your obedience.
“Good mouse” he begins to lap at your nub and your walls tense around his finger as a result, causing for your slick to slosh from the opening and down Paul's hand. “Shh, mouse, easy now” he cooes to get you to relax because of how tightly you are clenching yourself and it only gets worse when he adds a second finger. Your hips are so tight. You are on the edge. “You're gonna let me take care of this cute little pussy, aren't you?” You whimper at the feeling of being stuffed full and being licked at the same time.
“Y- Yes, Paul!” The air is heavy with the smell of slick and the sound of him slurping your juices up.
He adds a third finger and you nearly burst into tears from the pleasure. “Oh God, Paul, I am gonna cum!” Your entrance burns from the stretch and you moan from the bittersweet discomfort. “Please, lemme cum! Wanna cum so bad! Please, please!” Your submissive side comes out because of how overwhelmed you are and Paul can cum from the fragility of your voice right here.
“Hold it for me, mouse, good girl, c'mon” you sob at his cruel denial and he closes his lips around a mouthful of your folds, soundfully sucking at the clammy skin as he speeds his hand up to practically hammer your trembling pussy into an orgasm. Your toes curl and you throw your head back, fingers tugging at his hair as you tremble violently against him. Your back arches from how his free hand pinches and twists your nipples, softly landing occasional smacks to your boobs. “Good girl. I know you can take it” his hand then comes down to massage your ass cheek to make for a better stretch. “Relax, baby” you sob out his name and he smiles against your quivering core, his cheek gently caressing the inside of your thigh to get you to loosen up a little because you are clenching so hard.
“You're doing good, mouse. So good” his lips buzz against your clit. “Take it, baby, take it” your walls twitch against his coarse digits. “That's a good girl” he praises you while continuing to stuff your pussy with his fingers, the feeling of being filled up to the brim causing for you to shake and tremble violently. “That's my good girl” his tongue licks your clit as his fingers curve inside of you to search for your sensitive bundle of nerves that always makes you let out the sweetest of melodies.
“I'm gonna— I can't anymore, Paul!” Neon shapes cloud your vision when his fingers graze your sensitive spot and he growls at the feeling of your walls convulsing around his fingers.
“Yeah, baby. You can cum now” he finally relents and you cry out from the joy. “My little mouse, give me that sweet cum” his mouth never stops moving against you and you are so overcome with emotion that you are not sure if the tears that are streaming down your cheeks are due to pleasure or pain. “Gimme it, mouse. Gimme it” his tongue is like a beast that eats you up to satiate its starvation. You cry out his name from the pleasure.
“Paul! Paul, Paul— oh god!” The tongue is too much, though it gives you everything you could ask for at the moment, you need to escape. But when you try to pull away Paul catches your hips and holds you in place.
“Now, where do you think you're going, little mouse?” There is a beastliness to his voice.
“N- No, Paul! No more—” you don't get to finish your plea because his mouth clamps down on your sensitive flesh to suckle on it in big, eager kisses again and your heart threatens to burst through your chest.
“Oh fuck” the knot between your legs tightens so hard you cannot maintain it anymore. Vertigo breaks through your hearing. “Oh— Paul!” The orgasm takes over your whole body, your mind blurs from the burst of sensation that courses through your blood and everything turns into a euphoric mess. “O- Oh God…” You tremble from the aftershock and Paul groans when he feels you squirt. He releases your hips and you fall back onto the floor, your body too weak to withstand its own weight. “O- Oh fuck…” You're breathless and your body feels like jelly. “Paul, oh Paul…” Your fingers desperately try to reach for him like you're no older than a baby and you notice that he is stroking his hurting cock because of the need to bury his knot in you, a pained expression etched across his face. “P- Paul, I am ready” though you can barely speak, your body shakes from the need to be filled up by him.
“Mouse… are you sure?” Though his voice strains from the painful need, he prioritizes your comfort over his and your heart wells up.
“Y- Yes” you try to sit up. “Fill me up, please” he needs no more encouragement after that. With a low growl, he jumps onto you and you feel the tip of his cock press against your entrance in a heated caress that makes you whine, your body even forgetting to yelp from how he pounces on you.
“I'll never hurt you again, mouse” he whispers into your ear as he buries his nose into your hair, cock throbbing between your legs. You gasp when he enters you in a quick thrust that makes for all the air to bolt out of your lungs. “I promise.” You tremble in his hold and Paul groans at the feeling.
“I know” his mouth clamps down on the mating mark upon hearing your whisper and he slowly stretches your pussy to fit around his erection that even after all that fingering is still too big for your tiny cunt. The overstimulation causes for stars to form in your vision. His cock twitches inside you and he growls, the tip of his tongue tickling your nape in need.
“That's a good girl, baby” the hand that cups the side of your face tenderly strokes your cheek. “Relax for me” when your walls finally adjust to his log-like girth, Paul grins against the mating mark. “You're doing so good for me” the thrust of his hips causes for his cock to rub against your sensitive spot and your eyes roll to the back of your head with the feeling. “There's my good girl. You take my cock so well.” He releases his bite, hips pistoning up and down between your legs as he baby talks to you and strokes your hair to comfort you against the overstimulation that makes you whine.
“Paul!” You tremble as he fucks you in slow, long strokes and you cannot help but cry out his name in need.
“I'm here, baby. I got you” he murmurs into your hair and you moan at the baritone of his voice. “Take this cock, baby, you got it” he pants as his fat cock slides in and out of you. Then he suddenly grunts and readjusts you in his hold because the position is not comfortable enough for you and he can feel it. “God, you're so perfect.”
“I love you, Paul” you murmur into his ear, your hips lazily rolling against his as you hold him tight.
“I love you more” the latter part of his sentence turns into a growl due to his struggle with the positioning and he collects your limp form in his. “And I can do this better” though he roughly pushes your bodies off the floor to head for the bedroom, his fingers subconsciously caress your back in gentle strokes to make up for how your bare skin rubbed into the floor during the ordeal. You whine from how his heavy sack puts a strain on your entrance where your bodies connect as he does so. He cooes praise and reassurance in your ear as comfort, peppering your mouth with gentle kisses.
.
The next morning when he leaves for patrol in a black tank top and some shorts, there is a shy grin on his face as he looks back at the door one last time to wave you goodbye. You blush and return the gesture, biting your lip like it's the morning after your first time with each other.
“Geez, man, not the dreamy eyes!” A groan sounds from somewhere in the woods and you gasp before ducking behind the door. Chuckles and howls follow.
The jerk brigade has arrived.
“Someone get these two a room!” You recognize Jake's voice and shake your head as you peek outside from behind your shield. “Oh, wait, they did that already!” You cannot help but snort when you see that Paul has begun to jog in the direction of the voices. “In light of how the whole town learnt all the ways in which Paul's name can be moaned last night” uh, oh. That's not going to be good. Your lover is very private and sensitive about you as it is and when someone tries to pry or joke about matters of this sort he does not appreciate it. Especially if it's his hormonal friends that he knows too well. “Paul, Paul, oh, Paul!” Your cheeks burn in embarrassment and Paul snarls before he flings his shirt off and jumps into the air, transforming into his beastly form midway and disappearing into the woods to attack the offendor.
You see the great trees shake from the tussle that you can practically visualize behind them and the encouraging howls of Paul's pack mates further confirms it. They love to get a rise out of your easily excitable boyfriend and he loves to put them in their place, being the strongest after Sam. Their crossing of each other's boundaries for the sake of fun used to concern you in the beginning but Paul himself assured you that that was just how they played and it was not coming from a bad place.
So you wait for the ferocious crowd to move further away into the jungle that surrounds your house before you walk down to the dirt road to collect his clothing with a lighthearted shake of your head. A smile graces your lips as you do so and you cannot help but graze the now covered scars that your superhuman lover gave all his love to last night.
Though it will be a while before he does, you cannot wait for him to come back home to you.
. . .
I am sorry if it sucks omg I really hope you like it <3

Part 1
The following days turned into a magical routine I never knew I wanted. Paul showed up at the forest every afternoon, sometimes already waiting for me, other times arriving after me, always with a smile that made my heart race.
Our encounters had become more intimate. Not in the physical sense—although there was something undeniably electric in every touch—but in the sense of sharing secrets. I told him about my loneliness, about how I'd always felt like an alien in Forks. Paul listened to me. Understood me.
"You're special," he said, stroking my hair. "Not fitting into a mold made for ordinary people is a blessing, not a curse." That phrase seemed deeper than it really appeared. As if he himself had heard that before. Many times.
He told me about his family, about Sam, about how a wolf's life was full of rules and responsibilities, but also of a loyalty I could barely comprehend. About the dangers that lurked in the forest—he begged me not to cross the river, as there he wouldn't be able to protect me.
"Someday… Will I meet your family?" I asked one sunny afternoon. I was lying under that same tree, but with my head resting on Paul's lap. The ground was cold, but his body heat kept me warm enough not to worry about it. He was stroking my head, while his own eyes were half-closed. After all, that dawn Sam had the patrol shift. He was exhausted, but still insisted on meeting. "I mean, it doesn't have to be now… I don't even know what we are—"
"You're mine. And I'm yours," he said, opening those beautiful dark-earth eyes. He didn't say it as if leaving room for misunderstanding. It was a fact: I was his and he was mine. No one could question it.
But that didn't stop it from giving me chills when he said it.
"And you will meet them," he said, lifting one of my hands to his lips. "I just want to enjoy you all to myself a little longer," he said between kisses on my palm, fingers, and the back of my hand. "If it makes you feel better, they know you're my imprint."
Imprint.
It was such a new thing. Paul had explained it to me, but it was still hard to understand.
He said it's like being soulmates, only more intense. His whole world revolves around me. Nothing else matters, besides me. It's intense. It's painful. And at the same time, it's incredible.
But sometimes I couldn't help but doubt.
Not out of malice. Certainly not because I didn't trust him. But everything is so… Strange. The legends we learned in school were true. And apparently I was dating one of them.
Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night, and wonder if it was all a dream. If I hadn't just hallucinated from so much loneliness or something.
But then the next day, there he was. Alive. And real.
And it's as if I know I'm not crazy. As if I can finally breathe again after years of drowning.
Would that be an imprint?
"They know?"
"Wolf telepathy," every day was something new.
"You read minds?" He knows I dream about him shirtless?! Without pants?!
"Only when we're wolves," he explained, stroking my forehead.
"Only when you're wolves… So—" I sat up, looking at him with a bit of embarrassment. "They know about the… My big dog?" I whispered, as if the forest had ears. Paul laughed, pulling me onto his lap as if I weighed nothing.
"They know," he replied, and all I could think to do was hide my face in his chest.
Paul laughed, hugging me as if protecting me from everything. My nose brushed against his neck, and I could have sworn he shivered.
I lifted my face just enough to see him. It was a sight I never tired of. Every detail. Every tiny mark. I wanted to memorize everything. Feel everything.
He, as if reading my thoughts, pressed his lips to mine in a calm kiss. His hand touched my face, and I couldn't help but let out a small sigh.
My hands gripped the fabric of his dark t-shirt tighter, as if trying to pull him even closer—even though I was literally on his lap.
He smiled mid-kiss, but didn't pull away. His hand remained on my face, his thumb making a delicate, gentle caress.
"My big dog," I said softly, just to make him smile. I loved that smile.
However, before Paul could respond, his expression changed. From serene, calm, passionate, it shifted to worried and irritated. His dark eyes scanned around as if searching for something. His arms tightened a little more around me, before he gently set me down on the ground.
"Stay behind me," he said in a tone that left no room for doubt. At least not now.
Paul ripped off his shirt and dropped his shorts. Before I could question it, his body changed. I could hear the cracking of bones, saw the fur growing, his face transforming.
In the blink of an eye, Paul had disappeared and that large gray wolf had taken his place.
Paul let out a growl that sent the nearby birds flying away. I couldn't see his face, but I knew those large fangs were bared for the enemy.
My heart raced. The forest, which had once seemed like a sanctuary, now closed in around us like a trap. I heard the sound of leaves being stepped on, and before Paul could attack, a voice echoed:
"It's me. Don't bite." It was young. Male and sounded… Embarrassed.
The owner of that voice came out from behind the tree the wolf—Paul—was staring at. He was indeed a young man. Probably not even sixteen yet. He had dark hair like Paul, and dressed somewhat similarly—shorts and a t-shirt. He had an embarrassed and guilty expression.
The moment Paul saw him, that big angry fierce wolf let out the lowest whimper before transforming back into a human.
And there I learned a small detail.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed, covering my eyes with both hands and squeezing them shut. Believe me, I wanted to look. But at the same time, I didn't.
Paul hadn't taken his clothes off for me—it was because of his transformation. It didn't seem right to look.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the little glimpse I got of those round, tanned buttocks.
"She covered her eyes?" the boy's voice said, his tone confused.
"He's naked!" I replied, as if it were obvious. I heard the sound of dry leaves being crushed and then his warm hands touched mine.
"Not anymore," Paul said, gently moving my hands from my face and helping me stand. "My love, this is Seth." Seth—Paul had already mentioned him.
"Oh… Seth! Hi!" I extended my hand to greet him, but Paul growled just from the boy getting close.
"What are you doing here?!" Paul asked, crossing his strong arms.
"I came to see her," Seth murmured, looking at the ground. "Everyone's dying to meet her! And you said you were going to take her to meet everyone!"
"Seth!"
"Sam made me do it! You know I can't say no! And actually, this is your fault! You keep filling everyone's head with: my imprint is beautiful! My imprint is perfect! My imprint is smart! She reads books!" Seth said in a higher-pitched voice, and I really tried to hold back my laugh, but it was funny.
"Oh really? You're laughing?" Paul asked, one eyebrow raised. His tone was a mix of serious and humorous. And just from his tone, I should have known what he was going to do. "I'll give you a reason to laugh."
"No! Pffft—HAHAHAHA—" I barely had time to react before his fingers pressed into the side of my torso, sending my nervous system into a panic. Tickling. Paul had learned a few days ago that I was ticklish, and now it was a perfect weapon. "Paaahahahaul!" I screamed, trying to catch my breath, but he didn't stop.
"No, weren't you laughing?" he teased, using one arm to trap me against him, using the other to continue the torture.
He would have continued, if Seth hadn't let out a laugh and caught his attention.
"You're still here, why?" he asked, not letting me go, but stopping the tickling.
"Sam wants to meet her," Seth said. "And your mother too." Sam had also been mentioned by Paul.
He was the first of this generation to transform, helping all the others go through the same experience. Teaching them to have control and master the transformation. And even though another wolf had the right to be Alpha because he was a direct descendant of the ancient chiefs, Sam was the Alpha. He was bigger than everyone, and stronger. And he had the mental control of an Alpha.
It seemed scary to meet him.
But somehow, meeting Paul's mother seemed scarier.
"Sam said you don't have to be afraid. Everyone just wants to meet her, Paul," Seth pressed.
Paul was silent for a long moment, as if weighing what he should do. Slowly he turned me in his arms, his eyes meeting mine.
"I know it's a lot to ask," he said, his voice low. "And I didn't want it to be like this… But… Would you go? Meet everyone?" You could feel in his tone that he was disappointed. He'd said he wanted to enjoy while it was just us, and now he'd been forced out of that fantasy.
"Yes. Of course," I replied, placing one of my hands on his face, as if that would soothe those thoughts.
The journey was… Interesting.
Paul transformed into a wolf again, and Seth did too. While the younger one ran ahead, Paul stayed by my side and crouched on the forest floor, looking at me as if to say: you can get on.
Riding a giant wolf was certainly surreal. My fingers sank into that dense fur until my hand felt his skin. My feet didn't touch the ground—even if I tried. Paul stood up again and looked at me over his shoulder. I could have sworn he was smiling before letting out the longest howl, announcing his departure.
He was faster than I imagined. Instinctively, I hugged that wolf with all my strength so I wouldn't fall, but I knew Paul wouldn't let that happen.
The wind hit my face so hard it was hard to keep my eyes open. The forest was a green and brown blur, with small spots of light that passed through the leaves and touched the sun.
Seth appeared beside us, letting out a sound similar to a growl and a bark. If I had to guess, I'd say it was a taunt, especially with Paul's response: a loud, clear growl.
Paul slowed down before we passed the tree line. Seth kept looking at us before entering the clearing surrounded by houses.
Paul crouched down, which was my cue to get off his back.
That large gray wolf looked at me before taking a few steps away, disappearing behind a large tree. I could hear Paul transforming back before he reappeared, with both hands covering the front of his groin.
I knew Paul was strong. His t-shirts were almost sleeveless, not hiding his well-defined biceps. But now I could perfectly see how strong he was. Full chest. Toned abs. Thighs so thick they'd make excellent pillows. That reddish, tanned skin begged to be marked with my teeth.
"My love?" his voice called me back to reality.
And the reality was: I was—shamelessly—staring at Paul. Practically devouring him with my eyes. Barely remembering that his t-shirt and shorts were with me after all.
"Oh! Here! Take it!" I finally said, handing his clothes back to him. Paul laughed, and I grabbed whatever dignity I had left and turned around, giving him the privacy he needed.
"You don't need to be embarrassed when you look at me," Paul said, wrapping his arms around my waist and turning me to face him.
"I'm not embarrassed," I said softly, wrapping my own arms around his neck.
"No? Then why does your heart race so fast?" he asked, lowering his mouth to my neck. "I can hear it, remember? Beating as fast as a fleeing rabbit." His mouth left little kisses, one after each word of his sentence. "I can feel the change in your body. You get warm… Blood boiling under your skin." My legs went weak feeling his teeth nip at my neck. His low laugh made me shiver. "But you're right, it's not shame… It's something sweeter, isn't it?" I felt his hands slide down my back, nearing the waistband of my pants but not crossing that line.
"Ahem…" a loud throat-clearing made me jump, but not pull away from him. "Are you two done yet?" Seth was right there, a few steps ahead. Now also dressed and without wolf fur on his skin. "Come on! Everyone's dying to meet whoever defused his fuse!" Seth practically pulled me out of Paul's embrace.
My sneakers sank into the damp earth as I tried to keep up with the younger boy's steps. Paul was right behind me, smiling as if he hadn't done what he did seconds ago.
A woman with a beautiful smile approached me. Her hair was as black as Paul's or Seth's, but she didn't look like them. Seth had a sweet look. Paul had an intense, strong look. Her? She had a look… Welcoming.
As if her presence brought a peaceful, warm aura. Like a mother's lap.
Her presence was so intense that you hardly noticed the deep scars running across her face.
"You must be the girl Paul can't stop thinking about!" she said, pulling me into a hug so tight it took my breath away. "It's so good to have another woman around here! I live surrounded by all this testosterone," she said quietly in my ear. "I'm Emily." Paul had told me about her. She was Sam's wife.
"I'm—"
"Everyone here already knows, honey," she said, loosening the hug and placing her hands on my cheeks. "Welcome."
"Thank you," I said with a sigh.
"Come on, there's a bunch of anxious boys desperate to meet the new imprint," she said, taking one of my hands and guiding me down a trail leading to a house hidden at the edge of the forest. Every few seconds I looked back, just to make sure Paul was still there. And of course he was.
"Emily, can I have my girlfriend back?" he asked, pretending not to see my surprised expression.
It was foolish of me, knowing I'm his imprint. His soulmate. The one he would kill, live, and care for. And still blush and get all silly hearing him call me girlfriend?
I hope not…
"No! You hid her all this time, now it's my turn," Emily replied, guiding me inside the house, where more people were.
Sam was obviously the most noticeable there. He was the tallest, and also the strongest—which was a little intimidating. Unlike the others, he wasn't wearing shorts, but longer pants and boots. And of course a dark shirt. He looked like he'd just arrived from somewhere—maybe town.
"Sam, honey, look who Paul finally brought!" Emily seemed unaware that he himself had asked (ordered) Seth to go into the forest. "Isn't she beautiful?"
"Thank you," I said with a slight blush.
"Sam Uley," he introduced himself. His voice was deep enough to make my bones rattle. "Don't be afraid. I don't bite… Unlike your big dog," he said in a joking tone that clearly made the tension dissipate.
"All of you know about that?" I asked, looking at the others at the table. They all nodded. "Oh god…" I sighed, covering my face with my hands, as if that would help escape the laughter.
"They're laughing more at me than you, if that helps anything," Paul said, resting his head on my shoulder and hugging me.
"Not much," I replied, letting my body go limp against his.
"We're happy Paul found you," Emily said, hugging Sam.
"We're happier you've got him under control more than anything," one of them said from the table.
"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.
"Paul has a reputation," another replied.
"Reputation?"
"Short fuse," one said.
"Temperamental," another said.
"Irritable," one more added.
I looked at Paul in disbelief. He wasn't short-tempered. Or temperamental. Or irritable.
"I don't believe it," I said, bringing my hand to his face. "He's so sweet." I heard one of them choke on his food as if in disbelief.
"Haha, real funny," Paul huffed, patting him on the back. Not hard enough to hurt, but harder than necessary just to help him un-choke. "You've eaten enough, right? Now move and give my girl a seat."
The boy huffed but moved. Paul pulled out a chair for me and handed me a plate of food Emily had made. He chose to stay right behind me, like a guard dog. Or wolf, to be more precise.
Occasionally, I noticed Sam acting the same way with Emily.
Dinner was an experience I'll never forget.
The house was cozy, full of warmth and laughter. Little by little, everyone introduced themselves—Jared, Kim, Collin, and Brady, the youngest of the pack, and so many others. There was a sense of family I'd never experienced before, and I found myself thinking that maybe, finally, I'd found my place.
"So how was meeting our Paul?" Jared asked, a playful smile on his face. "He scared you the first time, didn't he?"
Paul, still behind me, mumbled something about "treason," but everyone laughed.
"He was pretty scary," I admitted, feeling Paul squeeze his hands on my shoulder. "But… When I saw his eyes… I wasn't scared anymore. I knew he was my big dog," I said, looking at him, who just smiled and leaned down to kiss my forehead.
"Big dog!" Jared said amidst laughter.
"I'll bite you," Paul growled.
Dinner was a succession of stories. How Paul was in school. How before transforming, he was shorter than me and without all those muscles. It was strange to imagine that.
When Emily declared the pots were empty, everyone left the house and went to the middle of the clearing, where the others from the reservation were gathered around a large bonfire. I stayed on Emily's porch, looking at the beautiful scene of the great bonfire burning a warm orange light, which contrasted perfectly with the dark sky.
There, for the first time that night, I remembered my parents. But the phone with no new messages or calls in my pocket said it wasn't reciprocal.
Still, I sent a brief message to my mother.
"Hey…" Paul called from the other side of the porch. "I know you need to go, but we're going to gather around the bonfire and tell stories."
"I don't need to go," I corrected, resting my elbows on Emily's porch railing. With that height difference, I was taller than Paul, since he was off the porch.
"You don't?" he asked, not hiding his surprised tone.
"I sent a message saying I was sleeping over," I said, bringing my face closer to his. "I left out the part about sleeping with my boyfriend who turns into a giant wolf." He laughed, standing on his tiptoes and stealing a kiss.
"So… You're going to stay with me?"
I felt my heart race, but there was no fear. Just a deep certainty that this was where I should be.
"I will," I said between small kisses.
"Would it be terrible if we skipped the bonfire and went home?" he asked, and I briefly glanced toward the great bonfire.
"I didn't want to seem rude," I said softly, and Paul laughed.
"You can blame me," he replied, pulling me off the porch as if my body had no weight at all.
I'm sure my laughter was heard by everyone, but the only ones who turned to see me and Paul running off to his house were Sam and Emily. Maybe I expected the great Alpha to do something, but instead he just smiled and looked at his wife. As if he knew the feeling of wanting to be that close to someone.
Paul's house was, somehow, exactly what I imagined.
A mess. Not in a bad way, but in the sense that Paul lived alone with his father. And he worked most of the day, didn't have much time for housework, and Paul had his patrols with the other wolves. It was a mess, but still somehow organized.
His bedroom, however, wasn't very organized.
"Sorry, I didn't think you'd come here…" he said, almost sounding ashamed.
While he threw all the clothes into the small closet, I pretended not to see, too focused on the decorations on the walls. A photo of him as a small child in his mother's arms. His grade school graduation photo. A beautiful beaded bracelet. A necklace decorated with feathers, shells, and pieces woven together in patterns that seemed perfectly designed. There were some books, some seemed to have been passed down through generations. Others with newer covers.
Every piece of that room had Paul's personality.
It had his life.
"It's not perfect, but—"
"It's perfect," I said before he could finish. "Paul," I brought my hands to his cheeks, pulling him into a kiss a little different from all the others.
An intense, fiery kiss. The kind where our tongues touched and noses squished. Hands slid down each other's bodies, feeling the warmth of their skin beneath the clothes.
"We…" Paul pulled back, or tried to, since I chased his lips with mine. "We don't have to—"
"I want to," I interrupted him again.
"You—"
"I want you to throw me on that bed. I want you to be the first person to see me. Feel me. And love me," I asked, and Paul smiled, taking my lips in a kiss that said everything he wanted to say.
"If you want to stop—"
"I don't want to," I interrupted, ripping his t-shirt out of the way.
"But if you do," he stopped me, taking my face and forcing me to look into his warm, dark eyes. "Just say so. One word and I stop."
"I don't intend to say anything except your name," I replied with a confidence I'd never had before.
Maybe it was because of him. His presence made me comfortable enough to be myself. And I'm confident enough to say I want to have sex with my boyfriend.
"You're going to kill me," he teased, turning me around so I was pressed against the bed. "And I'll die happy," he continued, pulling my t-shirt out of the way. "So happy," he said, wrapping his arms around me; his lips grazed my neck while his hands undid my bra, and our bodies tumbled onto the soft mattress.
Paul took his sweet time marking my neck, kissing and nibbling my skin before moving down to do the exact same thing to my breasts.
I was certain that for the next few weeks, I’d only be able to wear turtlenecks. Or scarves. But it was worth it.
That feeling of heat. My blood boiling. My heart pounding between my legs. All because of Paul.
His hands. His teeth. His tongue. Hands. Legs…
My pants were the next to go, and before I could even think about closing my legs, he was right there between them. In the dim light of the room, I could only see the shadows of the muscles across Paul's broad back as he held my legs wide open.
"Fuck…" he breathed, and I could feel the cool touch of his breath against my panties. "I can smell it." Before I could ask, Paul buried his face against my sex. He inhaled deeply, as if savoring the scent of my pussy—and judging by the low, vibrant, intense sound he let out, he was.
"Paul!" My hands dropped to the waistband of my last piece of clothing, but he stopped me from taking it off. He grabbed my hands, holding them tight enough that I had no escape.
"You're so sweet. I smelled it before… when we first met," he said, pressing his nose harder against me. "Fuck…" he groaned, louder this time. I could feel his tongue behind my panties, licking me through the fabric.
Trapped there between his arms and his torso, all I could do was move my hips against his face. And Paul liked it. He liked it enough to dive into me with even more intensity.
I could hear the obscene sound my body made against Paul’s face. A wet sound. Hot and heavy.
If Paul already seemed addicted to my arousal, things escalated—and by that, I mean they got even better—when he felt me climax. He used his teeth to tear my panties right down the middle, giving me not a second’s respite before using that hot, thirsty tongue to lap at me like a dog drinking water.
Free from the restriction of the panties, Paul thrust his tongue deep inside me without a shred of inhibition. His nose pressed against my sensitive nerves, a perfect form of teasing.
"Paul!" My back arched off the bed, driving his face even harder against me. My legs trembled around his head. My body was hit with an overload of sensation that made everything feel incredibly intense.
So intense that it hurt, yet it still wasn't enough.
Paul seemed to know exactly what was missing; he moved up from between my legs, trailing hot kisses along my body as my orgasm lingered. He pressed his pelvis firmly against mine, hard enough for me to feel his body through his rough shorts.
"Are you okay?" he asked, pausing right over my face.
"I need more," I said, sliding my hands down his abdominal muscles. "Paul… I need…"
"I know," he said with a smug smile as he reached for the small side table next to the bed, digging into the drawer to grab a condom. "I'll give you everything you need," he promised, rising up and leaving a trail of kisses as he stripped off his shorts. In the brief moment it took him to put on the condom, I could see his cock—just as aroused as I was. Hard and throbbing. Craving relief—relief I was certainly ready to provide.
Paul moved back onto the bed, using his hands to turn my hips and slide a pillow underneath me. My face pressed into the sheets while my hips arched upward, as if beckoning him. And Paul, like a well-trained dog, responded.
First, I felt his hands kneading my flesh before the latex-covered head grazed my body. Paul teased my sex, trailing down to my clit before moving back up to tease the throbbing entrance that was calling out for him.
When he finally slid inside, my whole body shuddered.
It didn't hurt. It didn't sting.
I was relaxed. Confident and at ease. My body embraced Paul without a hint of resistance—making me question everything I’d ever heard about sexual experiences.
"You're perfect," he groaned, pulling my hips even higher and forcing me up onto my elbows. "Fuck! You're perfect. My beautiful girl. My imprint," he said in a low voice, groaning the words.
"Paul…" I moaned in response. My hips moved on their own, seeking more. And he certainly understood.
That wet sound from before was replaced by the rhythm of our bodies colliding. Smack. Smack. Smack. Non-stop. Without pause. Just the sound of pleasure.
Paul pulled my torso up, his arms holding me against him. My back pressed against his abs. One hand held my neck, while the other gripped my breast firmly.
In a wet kiss—tongues clashing, teeth grazing—I felt my body plunge once more into that intense, incredible pleasure, taking Paul along with me.
I could feel his body pulsing. I could feel a sensation of swelling inside me. Like a knot ensuring Paul’s release stayed inside me—or, in this case, inside the condom.
We collapsed onto the mattress together. His arm made the perfect pillow, while his body was warm enough that I didn't even want to think about reaching for the blanket.
Silence settled in—not heavy or oppressive, but light and comfortable. You could hear the crickets outside. Through the window, I could see the moon through the treetops, and even a few fireflies.
"Are you okay?" he asked right by my ear. His voice was deep, heavy with sleep and pleasure.
"Never better," I replied, turning my face to look at him. "Are you okay?" Paul smiled, pressing his lips to mine.
"Never better," he echoed, pulling me a little closer—even though getting any closer was impossible. "Want to take a nap? When… when the knot goes down, I'll clean you up." His tone was low now, as if he didn't want to disturb my drowsiness.
"How long does it take?" I asked, and he knew there was no mischief in my tone.
"A few minutes."
"Does it always happen?"
"With you? It’ll always happen," he answered, and I couldn't help but smile. "And if you keep squeezing me like that, it’ll take longer." He said it playfully, but my body relaxed anyway.
"Paul? I’m glad I met you. " I felt his heart beat faster.
"I’m even gladder" He said, planting a kiss on my shoulder.

Reader POV
Waking up to the sounds of soft snoring in your ear was jarring. Where am i? And what the hell is that noise?! Looking up at the ceiling of the small cabin, you remembered curling up on Sam’s couch whilst waiting for Paul. WAIT, PAUL!!
The snoring grew louder as your brain began to shake the sleepy fog that was clouding your thoughts. You fought with the blanket in hopes of getting up, and turning to your right you realised why you were pinned in place. Such a puppy dog. Paul’s soft features and muscular frame were curled around you peacefully sleeping, and for once you didn’t mind the sounds of snoring. For a man that usually looked so tightly wound, it was comforting to hear how relaxed he was. You leaned in closer and enjoyed the warmth of his smooth skin and the smell of woody musk.
A loud bang in the kitchen broke through the calm morning air and Paul shot off the couch at the speed of light. “Wha- what’s wrong?! What’s happening!” He groggily asked, his eyes not fully open. You giggled to yourself and his rigid shoulders relaxed at the sound.
Sam’s apologetic smile appeared from behind the fridge as he held up a glass of milk. “Sorry you two. Was trying to be quiet.” He finished the glass in one large gulp and turned to leave you alone with your sleepy imprint. “Looks like you had a good sleep!” He shouted from the kitchen with a laugh.
“Thanks for the wake up, dickhead” Paul grumbled. Scratching his stomach, he noticed he was shirtless and an alarmed look flooded his wide eyes. “I’ll find some clothes I’m… I’m so sorry I should’ve gotten dressed before sleeping on you like that…” a deep blush dusted the tops of his ears as he scrambled to find a spare top. You couldn’t help but chew your lip and smirk. Adorable.
“It’s ok… thank you for coming back.” You quietly said, staring at the floor as you stood to stretch and find your shoes. A pair of large calloused hands pushed your boots into view and his rough morning voice soothed your beating heart, “I’ll always come back”.
Paul simply refused to let you walk home alone. It wasn’t worth arguing with the hot-tempered man, so you waved a quiet goodbye to Sam and followed Paul into the warm sunshine.
Thirty minutes of scuffing along dirt roads was filled with quiet conversation and a warmth that buzzed beneath the surface. “…And that’s how I got my arm stuck in a vending machine.” Your body shook with laughter at the mental image of an angry 9 year old Paul with his arm shoved through the metal slot. “I can almost see it!” You wheezed out between choked breaths.
“Geez, way to make me feel bad!! I’m never telling you anything embarrassing ever again!” he bantered lightheartedly, softly shoving your shoulder. Wiping away the happy tears streaming down your cheeks, his adoring smile came into view.
A memory of the same smile plastered on his boyishly thin lips had you speaking before you could stop it. “You know, I’ve seen that look on your face before,” You scanned the horizon to soften the intensity of your words, “It was the first time I met you. On my way over to the diner booth, I dropped a whole slice of apple pie on Jared’s lap and you laughed so hard I thought you were gonna faint.” You smiled to yourself and tried to ignore the way he cataloged you. You both knew what happened next - it was obvious in the way he tensed.
“And then Jared introduced us and I saw the light leave your eyes… like I’d personally done something to you… I really did care for him you know? I spent so long worried about how our issues made Jared feel, that I never truly stopped to ask myself how I felt about you, Paul.” You’d both stopped walking. The electrical current surging through your non-verbal conversation was palpable.
“And how do you feel? A-about Jared… about me.” He asked in a frightened tone.
You offered a private smile and a pounding heartbeat. “I will always have love and respect for Jared, but,” you bit your lip, “he’s not my future. I know where my future is.” Paul tripped on a rock and cut through the heartfelt moment like a real idiot. (Okay, it was kind of cute)
“Well… I guess this is you.” He mumbled, jerking his chin towards the front door of your empty house. The thought of ending your warm conversation made the pit in your stomach heavy with a tinge of sadness. I don’t want him to go. You scrambled for reasons for him to stay.
“You know, I’ve got nothing planned today… If you’re not busy would you wanna hang around for a bit?” You fumbled nervously, toying with the hem of your shirt. Paul’s breath caught in surprise, “Really? I mean yeah I- I’m not busy. I’m sure I could stick around for a bit.” He coughed and straightened to gain composure. YES!!
Relieved to have him stay, you smiled and dragged him inside before he could talk himself out of it. Giggling happily to yourself you said, “Well come on in! I’m starving and by the sounds of your stomach you haven’t eaten in a decade.”
Seeing his massive body squeezed into the small seat at your breakfast bar was a sight to behold. As you pulled every ingredient from the cupboard, his watchful eyes tracked your movements. He’s so cute when he’s nervous.
“I’m thinking pancakes and maybe some bacon?” You asked, already pouring flour into a large mixing bowl. His dazed expression and lazy smile stayed fixed on your left cheek. “Paul? Hellooooo, earth to Paul.” You waved a hand in his face and flinched as his own fingers reached up and intertwined with yours on instinct. “Sorry I- um” He looked between your hands and your cheek. “You’ve got flour on your cheek.” He muttered, reaching up to brush it off. The slow movement of his thumb sent a warm shot through you and nestled in between your thighs. Where else could he place those big fingers? How big would he look kneeling over me? Oh shit am I really thinking about this right now?Jesus, calm down tiger!!
Brushing off the dirty thoughts, you continued mixing the batter and making small talk with the god-like man before you. “Want to help me with the stove? I’ll even show you my secret trick” trying your best to be flirty, you threw a wink at his flustered face and turned to start cooking the pancakes. In a flash, he was stood at your side watching closely.
“So… what’s your secret trick?” He asked, inching closer until his arm ghosted your waist. As the stack of perfect pancakes grew higher, your courage had grown as well. Time to show off. “Prepare to be amazed!” You giggled, grabbing a can of whip cream out of the fridge and shaking it like a cocktail. “As long as you save me some cream for my breakfast, I’ll clap as loud as you want” he joked.
Keeping eye contact with Paul, you squirted a large dollop onto the back of your left hand and smacked your wrist with the other hand. His eyes grew wide as the cream flew into the air and landed neatly on the tip of your tongue. “Ta-da!” And with a dramatic bow, your trick was done. Paul erupted into laughed and slowly clapped, “Let me have a go. Bet I can do it higher”, his competitive nature shining through.
The cream flew through the air, and his cocky smirk vanished as it landed on his nose. “I… guess it’s a lot harder than it looks” he admitted sheepishly. You reached up and swiped the mess off his face, giggling at his embarrassed expression. “I’ll just have to teach you”, and without thinking you stuck the creamy finger into your mouth and sucked it clean. His pupils grew impossibly wide, and once again, you leaned into his orbit like a comet falling to earth. “Your eyes are gorgeous in the sunlight”, he confessed as if the proximity was forcing his thoughts out like shared secrets. You blushed and turned away like a coward, Food before kissing!!
Sitting quietly across from him, you watched as he devoured every crumb on the table. His cheeks were full with food as he scooped up the next bite and you laughed in shock at the speed of his hunger. “Glad you like my cooking, Lahote. You act like you’ve never had a home cooked meal” You joked, but the look of hurt on his face wiped the smirk off of yours.
“I’m sorry if I said something wrong I-“ You hurried to make it better, but Paul pushed his plate away and cut you off.
Swallowing the mountain of food in his mouth, he said, “It’s fine, Y/N. Don’t freak out on me, it’s kinda true anyways.” Your head shot up in surprise. It was a joke! Surely he’s got someone at home… you thought.
“I didn’t mean anything by it, i’m so sorry…” Your head hung low with shame. Fuck sake! How stupid can I be?! Jared TOLD me he’d had a hard life! His silence made the shame worse as you rambled to soften the rift between you, “I just wanted to make you a nice meal to say thank you for being so sweet and for saving me yesterday.” The silence stretched.
Swallowing your pride, you finished what you started, “And… If you ever need a listening ear or a warm meal I’m here. Always.”
“You really mean that?” He questioned quietly, toying with the last of his bacon.
“Of course, Paul. We may not have started off on good terms but we’re in this for life, right?” You smiled warmly at him. “Seriously though, thank you for protecting me in the forest. I don’t know where I’d be without you” The icy wall between you had finally melted and you were thankful that you could talk your way out of the pit you’d dug.
Sparks flew as he traced a circle on the back of your hand, “I’ll apologise for eternity for the way I treated you… jealousy is a disease, Y/N. So as long as you want me I’ll be here to make up for the past and chase the monsters away.“ His body tensed like he was anxious to continue.
“I’ve had a tough life. Never had a real home. I’ve spent my whole life being kicked around and fucked over. It’s worn me down. I’ve had to be strong; to survive I’ve had to be rough.” He admitted, turning to meet your worried eyes, “But for you… Well, for you I would be soft” His cheeks flushed with impossible heat and your heart rate soared. He nervously scratched the back of his neck and played with his fork like a small boy confessing to his schoolyard crush.
The hard shell of Paul’s exterior cracked open and you saw him for everything he was - a loving man that had been weathered from years of abuse and violence. All he wanted was a woman he could curl into when times were hard, and someone to hold his hand through the storm; and you had the unbelievable chance to be that woman. I’m so lucky.
“Let me help you with those dishes” He insisted, carrying the empty plates to the sink. Standing behind his hunched shoulders you placed a gentle hand to his spine and stroked lovingly. His anxiety defrosted as you squeezed his bicep and willed him to look at you. Leaning in, you sunk into the warmth of his onyx eyes and whispered, “You don’t have to be tough… I can be your home.” His hot breath fanned over your face as you stood on tippy toes in search of his mouth.
Caught off guard, Paul dropped a plate into the sink and a tidal wave of soapy water crashed over your shirt. “PAUL!” Squealing, you jumped back.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry!” he scrambled to wipe you off with a towel and accidentally smeared pancake batter into the wet mess. He loudly grumbled and threw the rag in the sink, “I’m so sorry I didn’t want it to happen this way.”
With his head in his hands, he looked defeated and deflated. Thoughts of resuming your interrupted kiss were too important to let this moment end. Grabbing his hand you cooed at him “Hey, it’s alright! Don’t be silly, I’ll just shower this off… and maybe we can continue this talk after? If you’ll stay?”
Paul POV
Sitting on the edge of your bed, he took in every inch of your room and every quirk that reflected your warm personality. I can’t believe I’m really here… her room screams ‘Y/N’ for sure, he thought with a soft smile.
The door was left open a crack and hot steam from your shower seeped through the room; the foggy clouds were swirling with your scent and Paul loved it. This was a moment he had prayed for, wished for… would do anything for. “Uh, Paul. I forgot my pants. I’m sorry” Your little voice in the hallway jerked Paul out of his trance.
His palms started sweating at the thought of seeing you naked. Come on man! Put on the Lahote Charm!! he talked himself down as he pushed the fantasy aside. Paul cleared his throat and tried his best to sound seductive, “Don’t worry, beautiful, I won’t bite unless you want me to.” A soft whimper from behind the door told him everything he needed to know. Let’s fucking go!!!!!! If it was acceptable for him to howl, he would have.
Closing the door, you were stood shyly in front of him in nothing but a crop top and a thong. If I’m not dead already I will be after this. Paul took his time dragging his eyes over your lower body and up to the outlines of your hard nipples. This was new territory for him, he’d never wanted someone like this before. “Come here, baby” he growled in a deep tone. You bit your lip and took a step towards his large frame. He took your hand in his and enjoyed the jolt of electricity shooting through his body.
“Paul… I thought I was supposed to be getting changed” You giggled nervously, but the way your body responded to his touch was noticeable. You obviously weren’t planning on getting dressed anytime soon. “Shhh pretty girl, I just wanna make you feel good” he cooed at you, “I know we’re moving fast but I’m not going anywhere.” his voice dropped into a seductive whisper. You pressed a quick kiss to his temple and assured him, “I’m not going anywhere either, I’m right here.”
With shaky hands, Paul placed you on his lap and ran his fingertips up both of your arms. The goosebumps spreading over the exposed skin reassured him that you needed this just as much as he did. “If we do this, there’s no going back, you’re mine. for life” he whispered into the crown of your freshly washed hair. The soft moan of his name that crawled up your throat was like a siren call begging him to cross the line - to jump head first into a sea of hope… and for you he would jump. Brushing his nose against yours, he felt your breath hitch as he closed his eyes and pressed forward. This is it.
The taste of your lips was the sweetest flavor he’d ever experienced and he would savor this moment for as long as he lived. The kiss was slow and meaningful and the soft sounds of your moaning left him lightheaded. Your knees caged his muscular thighs and his hard cock strained in his shorts. The smell of your arousal was like a drug to Paul, and like an addict he needed more. His wolf circled close to the surface, happily yipping at how much Paul affected his imprint.
Pulling away for air, he continued planting open mouth kisses across your collarbone. “I’ve been waiting for you my whole life”, the honesty pouring from his lips in a husky moan. Lying to you was a sin and Paul had turned his back on the Devil a long time ago.
“Paul… please” you groaned as he lightly wrapped his hand around your throat, feeling the thudding pulse flowing through you. Your nails scratched up his spine, hands finding purchase in the hair on the back of his skull. Your eyes rolled backwards as he lightly squeezed your neck and the scent of your arousal spiked. holy fuck, he thought. This couldn’t be real. “You like that, baby?” He whispered. All you could do was nod rapidly.
Gripping your hip with his free hand and moving your clothed heat against his hard member, Paul’s eyes studied the look of ecstasy on your face. Hand wrapped around your throat, swollen lip pulled between your teeth, and your pupils blown wide. You looked like an angel. His angel.
“Fuck beautiful, you don’t know how many times i’ve wanted to do this to you,” he whimpered in your ear whilst slowly pushing the hand on your hip up the back of your crop top, “You were made for me. You’re mine”. The sound of your breathy whining filled the room and he knew he wouldn’t last long.
“Yours… I’m yours Paul” you promised, taking his hand off your throat and sucking the long index finger into your warm mouth. Your hips quickened and you were now rocking on his lap all by yourself. The mixture of your innocent eye contact, and the dirty vision of you sucking his finger, caused a growl to rumble through his chest. You pulled back from him to remove your top and Paul’s mouth watered at the sight of your hard nipples bouncing in his face.
In one smooth motion you were lying back on the bed as he towered over you, kneeling between your open thighs. His hot hand dragged up your leg and settled over the wet fabric of your underwear. You jerked your hips up at his touch and through breaths you begged him, “Please… I need you”.
“God baby, I need you more. You don’t understand what you do to me” Paul whispered as he pulled the wet fabric off your soaking wet pussy. Sliding a finger through your perfect folds, he thought he was going to cum before he’d even taken his pants off. “Talk to me baby, tell me what you want.” He groaned as his large finger circled your clit. Your hands gripped the sheets and your voice tangled in a loud moan at the pressure. He stopped for a moment, waiting for an answer. A look of embarrassment crossed your face as you finally spoke, “Stretch me out first…please, sir.” Paul’s cock jumped at the nickname.
“Dirty girl” he growled, bending forward to suck on your neck and slipping two fingers into your dripping heat. The muscles gave way for him as he eased his hand back and forth, pushing his middle finger further in and curling upwards. “Fuck! Mmm, Paul!” You whined, rocking your hips onto his hot fingers. Your hands flew up and gripped his back with such force that he knew it would scar for a few hours. This was officially Paul’s favorite day ever.
Before you could climax, Paul withdrew his fingers and watched as your big beautiful eyes begged him to keep going. “I’m not done yet, pretty girl, let me finish you properly.”He reassured you. Keeping eye contact, Paul stuck both fingers into his mouth and savoured the flavor of you. Need more.
Pushing you higher up the bed, he fell onto his stomach and wrapped your legs around his head. You screamed in shock and pleasure as his tongue lapped hungrily at you. Moaning into your wet heat, Paul’s hips rocked against the mattress aching for relief. Spreading you open with one hand and assaulting your clit with flat strokes of his tongue, you rocked your hips against his mouth leaving a trail of slick wetness along his face. He was truly in heaven.
Your hands gripped his hair and Paul growled so loudly you felt it rumble through your entire body. “Baby! Fuck, I’m -“ You couldn’t even get the words out before you came undone on his tongue. Your body shook as he licked every drop of sweetness from between your thighs. “You taste like sugar” He groaned, getting to his knees and dragging his tongue from the top of your clit, up over your stomach, and sucking a nipple in between his teeth. Your hips continued to grind against his thigh and Paul moaned around the flesh in his mouth.
“I want all of you baby, I want to watch you whine,” he said, biting at your earlobe, “Want you to let me fuck you senseless, can I do that beautiful?” Your eyes fluttered shut as ‘yes’ rolled off your tongue at the speed of light. If he waited any longer he was going to ruin your sheets - Paul needed you now. Ripping his shorts off and pumping his painful erection, he watched as you all but drooled over the sight of him. Pressing a kiss to your lips, he slid into your waiting folds. FUCK. Your legs wrapped around his waist as he sank fully into you.
Paul’s hip quickened as euphoria washed over him. This is exactly where he wanted to be; now and forever. Your messy hair and whiny moans looked heavenly beneath him and he needed to make this a moment to remember. “Come on baby, let go”he cooed at you as he sped up the pace, leaning forward to press a breathless kiss to your puffy lips. Your back arched to meet his thrusts and he knew you were close.
Your moans grew louder, and as your walls tightly clamped down on his length you screamed out for him.
Oh. My. God. The sound of you screaming for him, and him alone, had Paul’s mind going blank.
His head dropped into your neck and your name fell from his lips like a prayer.
After a warm shower, and one too many hours spent watching shitty TV movies, the two of you were sprawled across your bed in silence. Paul traced circles over your naked back and smiled to himself.
Cupping your jaw, he urged you to look into his loving eyes.
“You wanna know something?” He asked. You nodded quietly and softly stroked his muscled stomach. “As long as it’s not another vending machine story” you giggled, dropping your cheek to his chest. “Remind me to never tell you anything” He laughed, “Y/N…I love you… I’ve loved you for a long, long time” Paul whispered and kissed your smiling face.
“Well Mr. Lahote, If every day with you makes me feel like this, I wouldn’t mind being loved by you for the rest of my life.” Your sweet honesty shot an arrow through Paul’s heart. If he wasn’t already bound to you for eternity, he would’ve fallen for you all over again. “In that case, I wouldn’t mind loving you for the rest of time. Goodnight, beautiful” He said, kissing your forehead and pulling the blankets up.
Paul curled you closer to his chest and thanked the Spirits for bringing you to him. His duty as a shifter was a heavy burden to bear, but it had given him the greatest gift of all - You.
Every cold one he kills, every argument that ends in a blood bath, and every step he’ll take to mend his friendship with Jared … it will all be worth it for the slow kisses he shares with you at the end of a hard day. There was a long road ahead but he knew you were going to be there every step of the way.
Loving you was better than any fantasy he could’ve ever imagined, and for the first time in his existence, Paul felt worthy.
In the end, the hands of fate had dealt him a wonderful life.
The forest had settled into its nightly rhythm — crickets humming softly, the wind weaving through the pines, and the moon spilling pale light across the moss-covered ground.
Y/n’s voice, once full of life and color, had dwindled to a sleepy murmur. For weeks now, she’d met the wolf here — always in the same quiet clearing, basket of plants by her side, stories spilling from her lips like falling rain.
She talked about everything: her day, her favorite places, the books she read, the people who annoyed her, and the few who made her smile. She never expected an answer, yet somehow, the great gray wolf beside her made silence feel like enough.
Tonight, her words had faded entirely. She’d fallen asleep against him — cheek resting on his shoulder, fingers tangled in his thick fur. Her warmth seeped into him, grounding him in a way nothing else ever had.
Paul didn’t move. Couldn’t. Every instinct — wolf and man — urged him to stay still, to guard her, to breathe her in. He could feel her heartbeat against his side: steady, trusting.
Too trusting.
He turned his head slightly, eyes tracing her sleeping face — her hair tousled by the breeze, her lips parted in soft, even breaths. Peaceful. Unaware.
She had no idea.
No idea that the creature she leaned against was the same man she’d yelled at on the road that day. No idea that every second spent with her like this tore him apart — because she didn’t know who he really was.
Paul let out a low sound — half sigh, half growl — the ache in his chest pressing deeper.
(I can’t keep doing this… She deserves to know. She deserves more than a lie.)
Her hand shifted in her sleep, brushing against his jaw. The touch froze him. It was gentle, familiar — and it hurt worse than any scar he carried.
He lowered his head beside hers, closing his eyes as her scent filled his lungs: wild fern, rain, and something softer — something that felt like home.
“You’re safe with me,” he thought silently, though she couldn’t hear him. “But you wouldn’t be if you knew what I was.”
He waited until her breathing steadied again, then rose carefully, easing her head off his side and onto the folded blanket she’d brought. She stirred but didn’t wake.
Paul lingered a moment longer beneath the moonlight. The bond tugged at him — that invisible pull urging him to stay — but he forced himself to turn away.
He padded into the trees, fur giving way to skin, claws to hands. The shift left him trembling, braced against a trunk, breath ragged.
“She’s gonna hate me,” he muttered, voice rough in the quiet. “But I can’t keep hiding behind fur.”
The forest gave no answer.
For the first time in weeks, Paul didn’t look back toward the clearing.
If he truly wanted to protect her, he had to stop being her shadow.
Tomorrow — he’d face her as himself.
The next day came, and Paul was a mess of nerves. Jacob, Embry, and the others had been trying — and mostly failing — to calm him down. Seth had volunteered to keep lookout.
Paul paced near the tree line, running both hands through his hair for what felt like the hundredth time. He’d faced vampires, angry Alphas, even his own temper — but this? This was worse.
Jacob sat on a fallen log, smirk tugging at his mouth. “Dude, you’ve fought leeches twice your size. It’s just a girl.”
Paul shot him a glare. “She’s not just a girl, Jake.” His tone came out sharper than he meant. He rubbed the back of his neck. “She’s—” He stopped before the word imprint slipped out.
Embry leaned lazily against a tree, grinning. “You mean the one who called you a brainiac in traffic? Yeah, terrifying.”
Paul’s glare could’ve melted stone.
Just then, Seth came running through the trees, breathless and grinning. “Okay — I scoped it out. She’s at the clearing again. Alone. Got that same book and basket thing with her.”
Paul froze, heart lurching. “She’s there already?”
Seth nodded, grin fading a little when he saw Paul’s expression. “Hey, man, you got this. Just… don’t come on too strong, yeah? She’s human. Not used to the whole werewolf-imprint-romance setup.”
Jacob snorted. “Yeah, maybe skip the part where you tell her you’ve been watching her sleep. That tends to freak people out.”
Paul groaned, dragging a hand down his face. “You guys are so helpful.”
“Paul.” Sam’s voice cut through the teasing — calm, steady, Alpha-strong. “You’ll be fine. Just be honest. You’ve got good instincts when you trust them.”
Paul exhaled slowly, jaw set, shoulders tense. He looked ready for battle, not a conversation.
Jacob smirked. “Go on, lover boy. Before Seth circles back and tells her the Big Bad Wolf chickened out.”
Paul rolled his eyes but started walking. The sound of his friends faded behind him, replaced by the hush of the forest and the pounding of his own heartbeat.
When he reached the clearing, he saw her immediately.
Y/n knelt by a patch of ferns, sunlight spilling across her hair as she hummed softly to herself. There was something steady, almost sacred, in the way she fit among the trees — like the forest made room for her.
Paul drew in a breath. “Alright, Lahote,” he whispered. “Time to stop hiding.”
And he stepped out from between the trees.
Y/n sat perched on a moss-covered stone, book in hand, biting her lower lip as she read. Paul had actually made an effort — hair combed, clean shirt, jeans instead of his usual cutoffs.
But the moment she saw him, her expression hardened — that familiar glare sharp enough to slice through air.
Her book lowered slowly. “What do you want?” she asked flatly. “You following me now or something?”
Paul froze mid-step. Her voice hit him like a punch. She didn’t recognize him — not as him. Not as the wolf.
He lifted his hands slightly. “No, no — I’m not following you,” he said quickly, tone calm but careful. “I just saw you out here and thought I’d say hi.”
She scoffed, snapping her book shut. “Say hi? To the guy who almost flattened me on Main Street? Yeah, makes perfect sense.”
Paul rubbed the back of his neck, looking like he’d rather face a vampire nest than this. “Yeah… I deserved that. I’m sorry, really.”
She crossed her arms. “So what, you tracked me into the woods to apologize?”
He hesitated. “No. I come here sometimes. To clear my head.”
That threw her off a little. Her eyes flicked over him again. “These woods are pretty big,” she said. “Funny how ‘clearing your head’ leads you exactly where I am.”
Paul’s lips twitched faintly. “You remember my name?”
“Hard to forget when someone’s yelling it after almost running me over.”
He laughed quietly. “Fair. Probably deserved worse.”
Her glare softened slightly. “You still didn’t say why you’re here.”
Paul looked down, then back at her. “I guess… I was hoping to see someone. Didn’t think it’d be you.”
She tilted her head. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
“It’s not,” he said softly. “It’s actually the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time.”
The forest went still. She blinked — caught between suspicion and something gentler.
“…You’re weird,” she muttered, but there was no bite in it.
Paul smiled faintly. “You have no idea.”
She turned, brushing off her jeans. “Okay… forest’s big. I’m busy.” She reached for her basket.
Then Paul murmured under his breath, “You weren’t this cold when I was a wolf.”
She froze.
Silence. The air seemed to vanish.
Her brow furrowed. “What did you just say?”
Paul’s stomach dropped. Shit.
“I—” He rubbed his neck. “You spend a lot of time out here. You talk to the animals, right?”
Her eyes narrowed. “How would you know that?”
“Because I’ve seen you,” he said quietly. “Not like a creep, I swear. I was out here one night — and you were talking to a wolf. Big, gray one.”
Her voice faltered. “You… saw that?”
He nodded. “Yeah.”
Her pulse quickened. “So what, you’ve been watching me?”
He shook his head fast. “No — not like that. I just… know that wolf. You were safe with him. I promise.”
She frowned. “Know him? What are you talking about—”
“Because that wolf,” Paul said softly, stepping closer, “was me.”
The air shattered into silence.
Her lips parted. “You’re joking. You have to be joking.”
Paul shook his head. “Y/n, I’m not joking.”
She backed away. “Paul, stop. This isn’t funny—”
“It’s not a joke,” he said, words tumbling out. “You wait near the cedar every other day. You bring that woven basket — sometimes that book about folklore. You hum when you think no one’s listening. You said you hate how people stare in town. You said the rain makes you feel safe.”
Her breath caught.
“You fell asleep against me last week,” Paul whispered. “You said it was nice not to be alone. You even called me ‘doggie.’”
That word froze her completely.
Paul’s voice softened. “That was me, Y/n. I’m not dangerous. I just couldn’t keep lying to you.”
Her expression shifted — disbelief melting into shock, then uncertainty.
“…You’re serious.”
He nodded. “Yeah. I wish I wasn’t. But you deserve the truth.”
She stared at him. “Paul… how? That’s not possible. Legends and folklore — they’re just stories.”
“I know how it sounds,” he said quietly. “I didn’t believe it either.”
She shook her head, pacing. “No—no, Paul. This is insane.”
He gave a small, humorless laugh. “I’d say the same thing if I hadn’t lived it.”
She glared weakly. “What, next you’ll tell me you sparkle in the sun?”
That earned a crooked grin. “No sparkling. I promise.”
Despite herself, she almost smiled. Almost.
“You told me once you believe in energy,” Paul said softly. “That everything in nature has a pulse — a balance.”
Her head snapped up. “You—how could you know that?”
“You told me,” he said gently. “Right here. One night when it rained.”
Her defenses faltered.
“That’s what it feels like when I shift,” he said quietly. “I feel everything — the wind, the ground… you.”
Her breath trembled. “If this is true… why tell me now?”
“Because I can’t keep hiding. You trusted me when you shouldn’t have — and I owe you the truth.”
She stared, torn between fear and belief. “Then prove it.”
He nodded. “Okay.”
Paul began unbuttoning his shirt. Y/n instantly turned around, covering her eyes.
“Oh my god — Paul!”
“Hey—hey, it’s not like that!” he said quickly, half laughing, half panicked. “You said to prove it!”
“I meant prove it, not strip down in the woods!”
“It’s the only way I can show you without wrecking my clothes!”
“Warn me next time!”
“I did! I said ‘okay!’”
From somewhere in the trees, Seth’s muffled laughter carried through.
Paul groaned. “I swear, I’m gonna kill that kid.”
He stepped back, voice soft again. “You don’t have to look, Y/n. You’ll hear it before you see it.”
She peeked through her fingers. “Hear what?”
“The change.”
Then the air shifted — bones cracking, muscles rolling, a low hum of something ancient.
When she finally dared to look, the wolf stood where Paul had been. Massive. Gray. Eyes glowing gold.
Her breath caught. “Oh my god…”
The wolf lowered his head — the same gesture she’d seen countless times.
Her voice trembled. “It’s… really you.”
He dipped his head once.
Y/n let out a shaky laugh, tears glinting in her eyes. “You weren’t kidding.”
She reached out, fingers brushing his fur. “You’re warm… just like before.”
For the first time, Paul felt the weight of his secret lift.
Then her knees buckled, and she collapsed backward into the moss.
Paul blinked, then groaned. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
From the trees came another snicker. Seth.
“Not. One. Word,” Paul muttered, shifting back and yanking his jeans on. He hurried to her side, brushing hair from her face.
Her breathing was steady — just out cold.
Paul sighed, a helpless smile tugging at his lips. “Guess I made too strong of an impression, huh?”
He stayed beside her, the forest wrapping around them in silence — guarding her, just like before.
When she wakes up, she’s definitely going to have questions — and Paul’s really hoping she doesn’t lead with a punch.
imagine genuinely seeing a group of statues trying to pose as high school students??? and they’re all sickly pale and have gold eyes and are outrageously beautiful??? its just like???
a/n: Yall... I cooked with this one omg. Like as soon as it turns October, my urge to write Twilight fanfiction becomes so extreme. I used to write them all the time on another account, but I don't use it anymore. Anyways... Enjoy <3

The air was thick with the mist of the Pacific Northwest as Y/n moved swiftly through the towering pines. Her heightened senses caught every rustle of leaves, every breath of the wind. Forks had always felt suffocating, even when she visited the Cullens long ago. Today, it was a reminder of the family she hadn’t stood with when they faced their greatest threat.
The guilt sat heavy in her chest like a stone. You should’ve been there, she thought. They needed you.
But her own crisis had been just as consuming. In truth, she had barely survived her encounter with the rogue coven that had hunted her for years. The Volturi battle hadn’t been the only war in the world, and Y/n had been fighting her own.
Y/n caught her reflection in a passing creek and paused, crouching by the water. Her deep brown skin glowed faintly in the dim light, and her eyes—still a vivid crimson—stared back at her. The Cullens had always been different, with their golden eyes that symbolized their vegetarian lifestyle. She couldn’t deny the hunger that burned in her throat. A hundred years of resisting temptation, and yet, she still wasn’t one of them.
Her long, layered silk press flowed around her like liquid ebony, even in the dampness of the forest air. She ran a hand through it absentmindedly as she sighed. She would never fit in perfectly with the Cullens. That’s why she left. That’s why she was a nomad.
But Carlisle had always been kind, and she owed him an explanation.
-
The Cullen mansion appeared like a shimmering beacon amidst the trees—modern, sleek, and yet hidden in the remote woods of Forks. Y/n approached cautiously. It had been too long, and while she trusted Carlisle, the others might not welcome her as easily.
As she neared the house, she slowed, her footsteps becoming light, barely touching the ground. Before she could reach the porch, a flash of movement caught her eye. Edward, unsurprisingly, was the first to appear. He stepped out of the shadows, his golden eyes scanning her with cautious intensity. Y/n could feel his mind brush against hers as he tried to read her thoughts.
Edward, she mentally projected, I'm not here to cause trouble.
His expression softened slightly, but not by much. Bella emerged from behind him, holding Renesmee close. Her face was stoic, protective.
Y/n gave them a small smile, trying to appear as non-threatening as possible, but the tension was unmistakable.
The front door opened, and Carlisle stepped out, his face breaking into a gentle, welcoming smile. "Y/n," he said warmly. "It’s been too long."
Y/n felt a wave of relief at his tone. “Carlisle,” she breathed, stepping forward. She hadn’t realized how much she had missed his calm, fatherly presence. She could feel the eyes of the rest of the family from the windows inside—Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie—all watching her, assessing the potential danger she posed.
Esme appeared beside Carlisle, her expression equally warm, though tinged with concern. “We’re glad to see you safe,” she said softly, her kind eyes studying Y/n’s features.
Y/n swallowed the knot in her throat. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there,” she started. “When the Volturi came. I should have been here, but…”
Carlisle shook his head, his smile never wavering. “You had your own battles to fight. I understand.”
“Still,” Y/n continued, “I should’ve done more. I let you all down.” She looked at him, guilt in her red eyes. She hadn’t even realized how heavy the burden was until she was standing before him.
“I’m just glad you’re here now,” Carlisle replied, putting a hand on her shoulder in that reassuring way he always had. "What matters is that you’re safe.”
Edward, still tense, stepped forward slightly, eyeing Y/n with suspicion. “It’s not just the past we need to worry about,” he said, his voice low. “You’re still hunting humans, aren’t you?”
The air froze around them. Y/n couldn’t deny it, even though the accusation stung. She had never fully embraced the vegetarian lifestyle the Cullens so strictly adhered to, and that was something she had wrestled with for years.
“I am,” she admitted, her voice steady but guarded. “But I’m not a threat to you. I’ve always respected your way of life, even if I can’t live it.”
Bella frowned slightly, her arms still wrapped protectively around Renesmee. "It's not just about us," she said. "The wolves...they’re still patrolling. You know how they feel about vampires who aren’t like us."
Y/n’s brows furrowed. She had almost forgotten about the Quileute wolves, the natural protectors of this land. They were bound to sense her presence soon, if they hadn’t already.
-
Moments later, as if on cue, the unmistakable sound of paws hitting the earth reverberated in the distance. Y/n’s sharp senses picked it up immediately, and she tensed. The wolves.
Jacob, accompanied by two others, was running toward the Cullen home, his expression as intense as ever. One of the wolves shifted mid-run, and a shirtless man stood before them in seconds. His dark eyes immediately locked onto Y/n, a defensive scowl crossing his features.
Paul.
He was as she remembered him—fierce, quick-tempered, and ever-ready for a fight. His muscled frame was tense, and even though he stood in human form now, the aggression in his posture was undeniable. Y/n’s presence alone was enough to set him off. She could sense it, the way his heartbeat quickened, his fists clenching at his sides.
“What’s she doing here?” Paul growled, his voice dripping with hostility.
Jacob stepped in front of Paul, placing a hand on his chest to calm him down. “She’s not a threat, Paul. Relax.”
But Y/n could see it wasn’t that simple. Paul’s eyes flickered between her and the Cullens, mistrust etched into every line of his face. She could feel the heat of his anger from where she stood, but something strange rippled through the air between them—an unfamiliar, electric pull.
For a moment, their eyes locked, and Y/n’s breath hitched. She had been around enough wolves to know their instincts were unpredictable, but this… this was different. She could feel Paul’s emotions crackling in the air, but underneath the aggression, there was something else. Something raw, primal, and entirely unexpected.
Paul took a step back, his expression shifting from anger to confusion, as though he were fighting something within himself. His jaw clenched, his fists tightening. “No… no way,” he muttered under his breath, his voice trembling with disbelief.
Y/n frowned, her brow furrowed. “What… what’s happening?”
Jacob’s eyes widened in realization, and he turned to Paul, his expression one of shock. “Paul… did you just imprint?”
Paul's face paled, and his body went rigid. The fury in his eyes had been replaced by sheer confusion, and for the first time since Y/n had met him, Paul looked… vulnerable.
Y/n felt her stomach drop, her vampire instincts screaming at her to run, but something deeper, something more human, rooted her to the spot. She didn’t understand what had just happened, but she knew it had changed everything.
-
The tension hung thick in the air, thicker than the mist swirling through the trees around the Cullen home. Y/n’s mind raced, trying to comprehend what had just happened. Imprinting—a bond she had heard of only in stories—had been something she never expected to encounter, let alone be the center of. But there was no mistaking it. The way Paul’s aggressive stance had melted into confusion, the raw emotions flickering in his dark eyes—it was undeniable.
But she was a vampire, and he was a wolf. This shouldn’t have been possible.
Paul stood frozen a few feet away, his broad chest heaving as he struggled with the same realization. Y/n could see the conflict written on his face, his entire being torn between his natural instinct to hate her and this newfound, overwhelming need to protect her. She didn’t know what to make of it, and judging by the way he was clenching and unclenching his fists, neither did he.
Jacob, standing off to the side, broke the silence first, his voice low but firm. “Paul, you need to calm down.”
“I—” Paul’s voice cracked, as though the words were stuck in his throat. He took another step back, shaking his head like he was trying to wake up from a bad dream. His gaze darted toward Y/n, then back to Jacob. “This can’t be happening.”
Y/n shifted uncomfortably, the weight of everyone’s eyes on her. The Cullens were watching with concern, and she could feel Bella’s protectiveness radiating toward Renesmee. Even Edward, though usually composed, had a look of uncertainty about him. Everyone was waiting to see what she would do next.
She was waiting to see what she would do next.
Her throat tightened, and she took a cautious step forward. “Paul... I don’t know what this means either. But I—”
“Don’t,” he interrupted, his voice harsh as he glared at her. “Just… don’t.”
The sharpness in his tone stung, but Y/n understood. Paul had always been quick to anger, but this was different. He was terrified, and the idea of a connection to someone like her—a vampire, someone his kind was sworn to protect against—had to be shattering everything he thought he knew.
Carlisle, ever the diplomat, stepped between them, his voice calm and measured. “I think we should all take a moment to process this. This situation is… unprecedented.”
Paul let out a bitter laugh, rubbing a hand over his face in frustration. “Unprecedented? Carlisle, she’s not supposed to be here! She’s dangerous!”
Y/n felt a flare of indignation rise in her chest, but she bit back her retort. Paul wasn’t entirely wrong. She wasn’t a vegetarian like the Cullens, and her bloodlust was a constant battle, especially around humans. The wolves had every reason to be wary of her.
“I’m not here to cause trouble,” she said, her voice steady despite the storm brewing inside her. “I came to apologize to Carlisle and the Cullens, not to be a threat to anyone.”
Paul’s jaw clenched as he stared at her, something unreadable flickering in his eyes. “Then why does it feel like everything’s spiraling out of control the second you show up?”
-
Paul couldn’t breathe. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw her face—those vivid red eyes, her smooth dark skin, her presence that now felt like a gravitational pull he couldn’t escape. And he didn’t know if he wanted to.
He stormed through the trees, Jacob jogging behind him, trying to keep up. Paul could hear his thoughts, trying to calm him, trying to make sense of the situation, but it wasn’t working. Nothing made sense anymore. He had spent years hating vampires, especially ones like Y/n who fed on humans, and now, fate had decided to tether him to one?
“Paul, slow down!” Jacob finally called out, stopping a few feet behind him.
Paul stopped abruptly, his hands shaking as he ran them through his hair, tugging at it. “Why her?” he growled, his voice barely above a whisper. “Of all people—why a vampire?”
Jacob exhaled, walking over to him slowly. “Imprinting doesn’t care about stuff like that. You know that better than anyone.”
“Yeah, but this is different,” Paul snapped, turning to face his alpha. “This isn’t some random human girl. She’s a predator.”
Jacob crossed his arms, his gaze serious. “And yet, you can’t hurt her. You feel the need to protect her, right?”
Paul said nothing, but his silence was answer enough.
Jacob placed a hand on his shoulder, his voice softening. “I know this is a lot, Paul. But imprinting isn’t something you can fight. You know that.”
Paul clenched his fists. He didn’t want to protect Y/n. He wanted to push her away, to stay as far from her as possible. But every time he thought about leaving, something deep inside him rebelled against the idea. His instincts—the ones that had guided him as a wolf, that had kept him alive—now screamed at him to stay close to her, to make sure she was safe.
“How the hell am I supposed to deal with this?” Paul muttered, more to himself than Jacob.
Jacob sighed. “You’ll figure it out. But whatever happens, we’ve got your back. Just… don’t do anything stupid.”
-
Y/n had never felt so out of place in her life. She stood in the living room of the Cullen house, her back against the cool glass window as Alice sat perched on the edge of a couch, watching her with curious eyes.
“You okay?” Alice asked softly, breaking the silence that had settled between them.
Y/n sighed, rubbing her forehead. “Honestly? No. I have no idea what just happened out there.”
Alice gave her a knowing smile. “Imprinting is... complicated. Even for us, it’s hard to fully understand. But from what I can see, Paul’s entire world just got flipped upside down.”
Y/n couldn’t suppress the scoff that escaped her lips. “What about my world? I didn’t ask for this either.”
Alice’s smile faded slightly, and she stood up, moving to stand beside Y/n. “I know. But the imprint bond... it’s powerful. It’s not something that can be easily ignored. I think, deep down, you feel it too.”
Y/n glanced at her, frowning. “What are you saying?”
Alice’s eyes were gentle, but firm. “You feel it too, don’t you? That pull. Like something’s shifted inside you.”
Y/n opened her mouth to deny it, but the words wouldn’t come. She did feel something—something strange and new, a connection she didn’t understand. And that terrified her. She had spent years avoiding attachments, running from anything that could make her vulnerable. Now, she was bound to a man who was sworn to hate her.
“I can’t,” Y/n muttered, shaking her head. “This isn’t... I’m not someone who can just fit into this world. I’ve always been on my own.”
Alice touched her arm gently. “You don’t have to be. Not anymore.”
Y/n’s red eyes met Alice’s golden ones, searching for some kind of reassurance, some way to make sense of the chaos swirling inside her. But there was no easy answer.
“I don’t know if I can do this, Alice,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Alice smiled softly, her gaze understanding. “You don’t have to figure it all out right now. Just... take it one step at a time.”
-
Later that night, Y/n found herself wandering through the woods outside the Cullen house, her mind still spinning with the events of the day. The sound of footsteps behind her made her stop.
She didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.
“Paul,” she said, her voice quiet.
He stepped into view, his expression a mixture of anger and frustration, but something else simmered beneath the surface—something softer, more vulnerable.
“Why are you out here alone?” he asked, his voice low but intense.
Y/n crossed her arms, her eyes locking onto his. “I needed space. Everything’s… complicated.”
Paul let out a harsh laugh. “Yeah. No kidding.”
They stood in silence for a moment, the tension between them thick and unspoken. Finally, Paul broke the silence.
“I didn’t ask for this,” he said, his voice rough. “This... connection. I don’t understand it. I don’t want it.”
Y/n’s chest tightened. “You think I do? I never asked for any of this either. But it’s happening, and we have to deal with it.”
Paul looked at her, really looked at her, for the first time since the imprint. His eyes softened, and for a brief moment, the anger drained from his face. “I don’t know how to do that.”
Y/n took a deep breath, her heart racing in a way it hadn’t since she became a vampire. “Neither do I.”
They stood there, two enemies bound by fate, neither knowing what the future held. But one thing was clear: neither could walk away, no matter how hard they tried.
-
The silence between Y/n and Paul was thick with unsaid words, the night air around them charged with tension neither of them fully understood. They stood just inside the tree line, the Cullen house glowing softly in the distance, but it might as well have been a world away.
For the past few days, since their initial confrontation, Y/n had kept her distance from the Cullens and the wolves. She spent her nights wandering through the forest, wrestling with the unfamiliar pull of the imprint. Paul had been keeping his distance too, but she could feel him—his presence, his emotions—like an invisible tether, always pulling her back to him no matter how far she tried to run.
Now, here they were again. Neither able to stay away. Neither able to make sense of it all.
Paul’s dark eyes flicked up to meet hers, something raw and vulnerable in them that hadn’t been there before. He took a step closer, and she held her ground, though every instinct in her told her to back away.
“Why do I feel like this?” Paul muttered, his voice thick with frustration. “I can’t stop thinking about you, even though I don’t want to.”
Y/n’s chest tightened. She felt the same way—an inexplicable need to be near him, to protect him, to make sure he was safe, even if it made no sense. But she wasn’t about to admit that. Not yet.
“I don’t know,” she said quietly. “Maybe… maybe it’s the imprint. Maybe it’s messing with both of us.”
Paul’s jaw clenched. “It’s more than that. I can’t even think straight. All I know is I’m supposed to be near you, and it’s driving me insane.”
Y/n exhaled sharply, crossing her arms defensively. “I never asked for this, Paul. I didn’t ask for you to imprint on me. I’ve spent my entire life avoiding connections like this. I don’t do… attachment.”
His eyes darkened, his frustration shifting into something more intense. “Yeah, well, neither do I. I’ve spent my life hating vampires. And now I’m stuck feeling like I need to protect one.”
She felt the sting of his words, but she couldn’t blame him. He had every right to be angry, just as she did. But this was their reality now, and neither of them could escape it.
They stood in silence for a moment, the weight of their shared predicament pressing down on them like a suffocating blanket. Then, Paul’s voice broke through the stillness, softer this time.
“I don’t want to hate you.”
Y/n’s eyes snapped to his, surprised by the vulnerability in his voice. “What?”
Paul ran a hand through his hair, exhaling harshly. “I don’t want to hate you. I don’t know what the hell this is, but… I don’t want to fight it anymore.”
Her heart pounded in her chest, confusion swirling inside her. She had spent so long building walls around herself, protecting herself from feeling anything too deeply. But here was Paul, someone who should have been her natural enemy, standing in front of her, telling her he didn’t want to fight anymore.
The walls she had built felt fragile now, crumbling in the face of something neither of them could control.
“I don’t know how to do this,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Paul stepped closer, so close she could feel the heat radiating off him despite the cool night air. “Neither do I. But we’ll figure it out.”
-
The next day, Y/n found herself back at the Cullen house, standing in the middle of the living room, surrounded by the wary eyes of the pack. Jacob had called a meeting after Paul admitted to the imprint, hoping to ease the tension between the wolves and the vampires. But Y/n could feel the distrust thick in the air.
Sam stood at the front of the group, his arms crossed, his expression unreadable. He had been quiet since she arrived, listening to everything with a cold, calculating look. Y/n’s gaze flickered to Paul, who was standing off to the side, his eyes constantly darting between her and his packmates. He looked on edge, like he was waiting for something to snap.
“We can’t just ignore this,” Sam said, breaking the silence. His voice was calm, but there was an undercurrent of steel in it. “Paul’s imprinted on a vampire. A non-vegetarian vampire.”
Y/n stiffened, feeling the weight of their eyes on her, judging her. She wanted to defend herself, to argue that she wasn’t a threat, but the truth was more complicated. She wasn’t like the Cullens. She had fed on humans, and even though she had never hurt anyone near Forks, it was hard to deny what she was.
“I know what I am,” Y/n said, her voice steady. “I’m not like the Cullens. I’ve made mistakes. But I’m not here to cause trouble. I came here to apologize, and now I’m just trying to figure out how to deal with… this.”
She glanced at Paul, who met her eyes with a look that told her he was as confused as she was.
Jacob stepped forward, his voice more diplomatic. “Imprinting is out of anyone’s control. We’ve dealt with this before. You all know that.” He glanced meaningfully at Sam. “We’ve had other imprints that broke the rules, but we found a way to handle it.”
Sam’s expression didn’t soften. “This isn’t the same as imprinting on a human. She’s dangerous.”
Paul growled softly under his breath, his protectiveness flaring up. “She’s not dangerous to me.”
Sam’s eyes snapped to Paul, his expression hardening. “Are you willing to risk that?”
Y/n tensed. She had been around the pack long enough to know the importance of the alpha’s word, and Sam’s opinion carried a lot of weight. If he decided she was too much of a risk, it would put a strain on the tenuous peace between the wolves and the vampires.
“I won’t hurt him,” Y/n said quietly, her voice firm. “I don’t know what this imprinting thing means, but I know one thing—I don’t want to hurt anyone. Especially not Paul.”
The room fell silent, the weight of her words sinking in.
After what felt like an eternity, Sam finally nodded, though his expression remained guarded. “For now, we’ll keep an eye on the situation. But if anything changes, if you put anyone at risk—” He let the threat hang in the air.
Y/n didn’t need him to finish the sentence. She understood the stakes.
-
Later that evening, Y/n found herself standing at the edge of the woods again, staring out at the fading sunlight. She had always found comfort in the stillness of the forest, but tonight, her mind was restless.
Paul appeared beside her, silent as ever. She didn’t turn to face him, but she could feel his presence like a flame burning beside her.
“Are you okay?” he asked after a long pause.
Y/n shrugged, keeping her eyes on the trees. “I don’t know. Everything feels... different now. I don’t know how to be this person—the one who’s tied to someone else.”
Paul was quiet for a moment, then he let out a soft chuckle. “Yeah, it’s weird for me too.”
Y/n glanced at him, surprised by the amusement in his tone. “What’s so funny?”
Paul shrugged, a hint of a smile playing at his lips. “I guess I never imagined I’d be standing here talking about feelings with a vampire.”
She couldn’t help but laugh at that, the tension easing between them. “I never imagined I’d be stuck with a wolf.”
They stood in comfortable silence for a few moments, both of them staring out at the forest as the night deepened.
Then, Paul spoke again, his voice softer this time. “I’m not good at this... at talking about stuff like this. But I know one thing—I can’t let anything happen to you.”
Y/n’s breath caught in her throat. The sincerity in his voice, the intensity of his gaze—it was overwhelming. She had spent so long running from attachments, pushing people away, but with Paul, it felt different. It felt inevitable.
“I don’t need protecting,” she said quietly, though her voice lacked conviction.
Paul’s eyes softened. “Maybe not. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m going to protect you.”
The weight of his words settled over her, and for the first time, Y/n didn’t feel the need to argue. She didn’t feel the need to run.
Maybe this was what the imprint was supposed to be. Maybe this connection between them was something she couldn’t fight anymore.
And for the first time in a long time, Y/n wasn’t sure she wanted to.
