She feels the air leaving her lungs with obvious troubles and her back bends when the man right behind her tightens his arm around her neck, the headlock she’s in getting firmer and more obvious against her throat. Thing and manicured fingers pressing tightly into the restraint she’s kept in, struggling against the tight grip as a soft whine follows a gasp for air. It gets harder for Hanako to breath, being used as a shield was definitely no fun.
“Just shoot already, god damn it!” She’s sick of Leon’s threatening, of his try to make the mob leader simply give up and surrender to a single human with a weapon while he holds a woman hostage. “Didn’t you hear me, shoot him in the head if you have the ch–” Her words get cut off when the kidnapper gives another tug to her neck, forcing her to stop talking and catch her breath instead, struggling visibly against the leader’s arm. Another short whimper follows as she gives the slayer another firm look. If he wouldn’t do it she would herself.
How was it that the slayer could compromise better with a supernatural than a human being? This mob leader, with his thick disgusting fingers and cigarette stained teeth, was far too conceded to let Hanako, his hostage, go. Yet it was typical, for the mob leader wasn’t going to get anything out of the slayer for holding her hostage. There was nothing promises for him except a bullet lodged into his skull. Leon was trying to make amends with his monsters, trying to spare the living a second chance. How foolish was he to believe he could try to keep the damned alive? They were better off six feet under.
Hanako’s urging, or rather ordering, causes the slayer to do just as he’s instructed. Except he does not completely kill. From years of training and hunting, the slayer swiftly moves to fire a shot toward the mob leader’s head. The bullet skims the surface of his cheekbone, cutting the upper cartilage of his ear. The mob leader lets her free, because he can’t bear the pain. Hanako is thrown forward, and Leon lunges after to grab her wrist, pulling her out of the man’s vicinity. He shoots once more, at the man’s calf. A loud cry echoes. He was going to let the cops deal with him. “You can sit in your own pool of blood till the cops come for you.” And he’s hoping Hanako doesn’t have other plans, but nothing goes accord when she’s around.
