Day after day I stare at this blank page, feelings swirling in my heart and soul, trying to manifest as words. Just seeing your smile takes my breath away. This weightlessness is serenity in its purest. A song comes on the radio that takes me back, building tree forts in the back yard, using sticks as guns. Grade school crushes, building up courage, practicing in front of the mirror for hours. Simple times and simple attractions. Thoughts only contained wishes of spending time with the girl you like. So much more is implied in attraction with added age. Fights become more complex. Apologies can’t change the past, but sometimes brighten the future. Hoping for future peace, seen as a far off concept, due to humanity. Playground quarrels forgiven by lunch time. Office fights responding in violence. Fairytales of lost sight with age, revealing now that myths are true. Humanity blinded by trivial pursuits. Mans greatest threat, mankind itself. Earth suffering for mans mistakes. Childhood versions of mankind looking on with disbelief. How did man go wrong. What started out in innocence ends with destruction? Good intensions gone awry. Can past mistakes be corrected? Why can’t the world work together? Put petty differences aside and strive for a common goal. It’s time to take a higher path
