Unmasking Me: My Personal Journey of Self-Discovery and Spiritual Ascension
Getting to know one’s self is such an interesting topic. It’s so easy to go through life saying, “yeah. I know who I am” and just leave it at that. But to be willing to dive in and take a deeper look at what truly lies under the surface requires a lot more patience, a lot more commitment, and a lot more courage than most of us are willing to invest. Most people, whether they can outwardly name the emotion or not, are too scared of what they will see if they look deep within. Either too scared of the demons they may encounter, or that there may not be anything of substance there at all. The activities we enjoy, the sports team we cheer for, the job we do, the movie genres we prefer, the ego-led beliefs we value- these are all quite superficial things about who we think we are. In truth, they are what you like and what you do, but they are not who you are… and I beg to guess if you’ve read up to this point so far, that what I’m saying is resonating with you as well. There’s so much more to who you are, to what you desire, why you believe in certain things over others, and to what you’re truly capable of doing/ who you’re capable of becoming.
You are a beautiful living, breathing, vibrating organism bursting with Universal energy (whether you would like to believe this or not). You are indeed a spiritual being as well, just maybe not in the traditional sense that you grew up thinking described spirituality. You are divinity, power, and Godliness which makes you a powerful creator. You were born to create a magnificent, blessed life of riches, joy, superb health & vitality, abundance, and profound love. However, somewhere along the way you were told a different story. A story that you decided to subconsciously believe, so it molded who you are today. In fact, it has created the very physical reality you perceive around you! But this current version of yourself is not who you are at a deeper level, nor who you are meant to be. No. You are being called to be, do, and have a whole lot more. You are meant to love deeply, live in faith, and laugh in joyous exultation. You are meant to live freely, with ease, as you flow through life’s grand adventures. Yes, this means you are also destined to experience contrast (the not-so-great things in life) as this too IS Universal Law. But to live in your truth means it does not matter because you hold the faith that after dusk the dawn always comes. That after the storm, a rainbow appears. That after you fall, you will yet rise again.
Taking the time to get to really know yourself; to take the time to ask the nitty, gritty questions that both excite and scare you; to question your current why’s, beliefs, and physical realities IS the first step to enlightenment… to living a richer life with a deeper meaning and purpose.
So, I’d like to cordially invite and welcome you to join me on my own journey of self-discovery. Hopefully, in doing so, you too will discover some truths about yourself along the way. These journal entries are an anthology of my self-reflections and thought processes as I go through a 6-month program with Kathleen Cameron’s Diamond Academy called Millionaire. They are my way of digging deep into LOA while re-programming my self-conscious mind. I love to teach, so naturally I tend to reiterate the information I am learning in a way that feels most meaningful to me; a way that’s as if I am both teacher and student. They (my entries) may not always be pretty or make sense, but they’re authentically and unapologetically me. I am choosing to ignore any vulnerabilities to put my heart, mind, and soul on display for all the world to see and maybe, just maybe, in doing so I can help someone who is experiencing their own call to a higher purpose. A call to unmask the layers that are covering who they truly are as they journey to a state of greater enlightenment.
So put on a pair of headphones, retreat to your own quiet space, turn on music that makes you feel both at peace, inspired, and reflective at the same time (my current playlist which I call ‘Empowered Thinking’ consists of a list of songs by Hollow Coves and the work of Ludovico Einaudi) and be prepared to think, question, and wonder…… “but, what if?”
