I promise my feelings are true
Everyone knew Annabeth, the girl at the top of her class, the girl who only did gymnastics, but refused to join the cheer team,and the girl that had won the school many debate trophies. Annabeth was popular.
Calypso was far from it. She kept her head down and did her work. Only two people knew what she did outside of school, they mostly hid in the back as well. Those two people were Leo and Piper. Leo hid in the background and Piper just preferred to not talk to many people.
So with both of these things in mind Calypso couldn't wrap her mind around the last few minutes of her life. Annabeth Chase, the Annabeth Chase stood in front of her asking her to hang out. “I'm sorry, what?” Calypso said making the blonde flinch nervously. “Do you wanna hang out? It'll be you, me and a few of my friends.”
Calypso blinked a few times. She looked around the cafeteria, no one was laughing, giggling, or snorting. There was no way Annabeth even knew Calypso existed. “Do you even know my name?” Annabeth nodded. “Yea, Calypso you're right behind me on the school's grade board.” Calypso swallowed.
“Uh, sure, I'll come..” Annabeth grinned. “We leave out after school on Friday!” Calypso watched as Annabeth ran away to wherever she needed to be. Calypso turned back around to be faced with Leo smirking at her raising an eyebrow.
“What are you grinning about Valdez?” Calypso rolled her eyes waiting to hear something dumb. “'Uh, sure, I'll come’ what was that! You sound like a nerd!” Leo snickered only to be pulled by his hood and forced to move over. Piper sat down in the space between Leo and Calypso. “What my boyfriend, meant to say is that you seem to have a crush.”
Calypso blushed slightly. “What, no, that's…dumb.” Calypso did have a crush on Annabeth, but she kept it hidden, then she pushed it deep down inside her. She didn't think she really had a chance with Annabeth.
“Wow, good lying Cali!” Leo snorted only to have Piper to punch his arm. “Anyway, Annabeth has to like you a little bit to consider you fun enough to hang out with.” Calypso bit her lip. She didn't believe it. “There no damn way she can like me, I'm a nobody!”
“Maybe Annabeth likes nobodies who doodle on their notes and gush about her in VSCO.” Leo mumbled earning a glare from both his girlfriend and his friend.
“Whatever, I got class.” Calypso said getting up to leave and go to her class.
On Wednesday, two days later, Calypso was still convinced Annabeth was playing tricks on her. Calypso's buried her face in Piper's arm. “There's no way..” Calypso mumbled her face bright red. Piper ran her hands through Calypso. “Hey, have some confidence! It's gonna be ok!” Calypso huffed only getting more frustrated.
Now, to anyone who knew Piper and Calypso were friends, this would seem normal. To Annabeth, it looked romantic. That made Annabeth feel weird. Like she was jealous. She bit her lip watching the two girls from her table.
“Hey wise girl, you're staring at her again.” Percy said chuckling snapping Annabeth out of her daze. “I was not staring at her sea for brains!” Annabeth cleared her throat feeling her face heat up. “You totally were.” Percy said. “You were jealous too, you even did the little angry lip bite this time.”
Annabeth sighed. “Do you think they're dating?” Annabeth sounded deflated and defeated. “Annie, I'm sure they're just friends. You got two days til the big date- I mean day.” Annabeth elbowed Percy in side.
“I'm being serious, I like her but what of she does like me back?!” Annabeth sighed resting her head on the lunch table. “Hey, hey, don't say that. We can figure this out. I have a plan and it's kinda dumb. I'll tell you after school!” Normally Percy's dating advice was dumb, but Annabeth didn't trust anyone else with this kinda stuff.
After doing homework and going through her notifications, Annabeth went over a plan with Percy.
Annabeth: I can tell I'm going to regret this.
Percy: So, me jason and reyna won't show up to hang out friday
Annabeth: you're gonna leave me alone, with her!? I can't do that!
Percy: calm down it won't be that bad
Percy: so when we don't show up, just offer to hang out with her so it won't be a waste of time
Annabeth: :)))) i could hardly ask her out knowing you guys were coming but ok
Percy: that attitude is gonna get you anywhere
Percy: so the two of you hang out for a bit and then boom phase one done!
Annabeth: oh gods, there's more!?
Percy: do yOU WANT CUDDLES FROM HER OR NOT!?
Percy: That's what I thought.
Annabeth sighed, her best friend was a hand full. Annabeth read Percy's texts over and over again trying to make sure she can't fuck up everything.
Annabeth: Ok, I can do it…hopefully
Percy: No hopefully, you are and you're gonna rock this plan!
Annabeth rolled her eyes and chuckled
Annabeth: Yea yea, night sea for brains
Annabeth turned off her phone and made sure to put it on the charger before laying down and forcing herself to go to sleep.
