Our monthly qudditch match between Hufflepuff and Slytherin was a huge spectacle. More than ever, Slytherin Captain Mila Zabini needed a win - the Snakes had failed to win a single game this season so far. Hufflepuff Captain Stephanie Kenyon was determined to make sure she took home another W herself. The Slytherin team was off to a strong start, racking up 100 points in the first half-hour alone. They continued to lead the Hufflepuffs, bringing their lead over them to 210:30 at one point during the game.
About halfway through the game though, an unknown event caused Hufflepuff chaser Brittany Wenlock to fall from her broom though. The pitch was cleared as school nurse, Madam Alejandra Acosta, assessed her wounds. When the girl failed to regain consciousness, Acosta and Headmaster Flitwick left the field in order to accompany the girl to St. Mungo’s. As of now, there are still no updates on her condition.
After watching their teammate fall, the Hufflepuff team was visibly distraught. Kenyon gathered them all together on the side of the pitch before the game resumed. And after the game resumed, it seemed the Hufflepuff team was out for blood. Slytherin’s early lead dwindled until the game was 210:160. And while Slytherin chasers Luke Dawson and Samuel Avery managed to score another 90 points on Kenyon, the Snitch still alluded them. It wasn’t long until Hufflepuff’s Archie Appleby shot by the goalposts in pursuit of the Snitch. While Slytherin Seeker Anthony Rowle zoomed towards him, it was too late. Appleby had made a mad dive on his broom, catching the Snitch and ending the game with a surprise victory for the badgers.
Final Score: Hufflepuff 310 - Slytherin 300
