HEAT pumps through the floor vents to combat the lingering winter outdoors. A fan motor purrs, undercut by the mumble of a beat-up radio he swiped for a quarter. It keeps the two of them from roasting and being overpowered by the cheap rose incense smoke dancing around them. It creates a haze in the sunlight streaming in through the cracks of the tightly fastened curtains. The only other light source in the room is Star Platinum himself who is more than enough on his own. For this, he closes his eyes so he doesn’t influence the picks. He knows exactly which card fell where, after all. Mr.Kakyoin doesn’t waste time feeling out the deck. Chin resting in his hand, one of Star Platinum’s eyes snap open in time to catch Mr.Kakyoin about to scoot a card back into line that had clung to one of his choices. The Stand snatches it up, setting it aside for later.

Another motion and all is revealed. Judgment turned on its head, the moon, and ten of wands flipped over as well. Star Platinum’s eyes flick from the User to cards a couple of times. Better flip over the fourth card in case it changes things. He bites on the inside of his cheek when he flips over the nine of swords.
