Hikari Yagami Week 2023- Day 2-Dancing
for @hikariyagamiweek
Hikari had always liked dancing, ever since she was a little girl.
When she was a kindergartener, she had been too frail to excel in most Physical Education classes. (unlike her brother, the natural athlete.)
But that didn’t matter for dancing. It didn’t matter if she was good at it. What mattered was what she felt. How the music moved through her as floated through the gym.
Dance like no one’s watching. A plea given to reject the tyranny of expectations and just give in to the music of your soul. To be yourself at your freest, enjoying life as you wish
Kindergarteners rarely needed such lofty words to express themselves through dance. Occasionally they could still be shy in other aspects, but when the music started flowing their bodies opened up instinctively.
Just by watching Hikari felt like she could know every one of them. Perhaps not the individual wants and fears, but their soul, their wants, and their wills.
As such, Dancing remained Hikari’s favorite activity during exercise time.
But as she watched the pile of bodies continue to grow, she wished they would at least watch themselves dance, and stay out of each other’s way.
