I bought a chair the color of fire, love flowers the color of autumn...but really these are the colors of flames that surround the northwest. The flames quickly taking away our green and filling it with bursts of orange...only to leave the black trace of soot and ash which will remain for years to come. End of summer has never felt this way, it's dismal with sinister red sun throughout the day, only to be replaced with an orange-red moon at night. But there is green, yellow, and the red of the hardworking faces hiking back country, sawing and scraping wrapping buildings in foil, and dumping water across acres and acres throughout the day. Women and men fighting night and day to make sure more homes aren't taken, more of our favorite places remain preserved.
