I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday a few weeks ago! But also a thank you to everyone who has helped me get to see my 30s.       They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a tribe to get through life. And my close knit circle of people have pulled hard for me throughout the years, in ways I can never repay.      I’m so grateful to be seeing these next years and to be rid of my twenties.    I stumbled on a journal/scribbling page from probably six years ago, it had goals that seemed unachievable when I sat in my depression, debt I’d gotten myself into, and just overwhelm. Looking back now, I just want to say I’ve achieved so many of those dreams, surpassed those seemly unreachable accomplishments and am still here today.    I just want to say keep going, because things DO get better and there is too much life to be lived to toss it away. 💕      Best things I’ve learned this past year:   - You’re worth the effort. Work on yourself and you’ll watch other areas of life align.   - Life will never be perfect, so just enjoy it instead.   - Figure out what makes you happy and make sure you do one of those things daily or weekly depending on how big.   - Phones and technology suck the life out of you. Put it down and go cuddle your dog, cat or human instead.    - Small adventures can mean the most.    - Go for a walk. Just do it.   - Listen to those around you without distraction. We’ve been so busy over here! Between home renovations, a new job, and a camper van overhaul we’ve just been going like CRAZY! It’s nice to take time away from projects though and just get outside, even if it’s just a short walk or hike. Living life through this screen is getting a bit redundant and monotonous if I’m being honest, but I know it has its place too. However busy you are today, don’t be afraid to try something new, take time for yourself or just soak in a bit of Mother Nature! Yesterday was international Women’s Day, and honestly I didn’t want to post this picture. Because it wasn’t the gorgeous pictures that I saw other women posting, there’s no lipstick and beautiful clothes here on this day, and it wasn’t me feeling strong or even myself. I’ve worked my ass off the past several months to get back to where and who I am, and on this particular day I didn’t feel any of that. But I’m posting it, because I want you to know it’s ok to have hard days, it’s ok to be finding your direction, it’s ok to have days you just say “WTF?” and work for a better tomorrow. It’s ok to not be picture perfect and what people expect you to be. This may not have been an ideal day, but I’m proud of the voice I’ve rediscovered and the steps I’m taking to fight for myself. I’m so proud of the ladies I know, whether you’re feeling picture perfect or not, whether your days have been difficult and less than perfect or they’ve been thriving and wonderful. And there’s definitely things that are draining me and not adding to my fulfillment. One of them being screen time and social media    I haven’t watched the Social Dilemma, and no I don’t like Instagrams new terms. But it’s more about living 𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 and in the moment, about less comparison and more joy. About living my life with my tribe while I have them and making memories while we can.     I’ve decided to not delete my account for now. But I am setting parameters for apps, 45min a day to start with. I might go up, might go down. But I’m not happy with the life-time lost to my screen right now.     I’m not asking for applause, or for you to do the same; I’m not posting this to be dramatic. I’m just tired of my time being so divided, feeling so unlike myself and feeling so overwhelmed and drained all the time.    I’m still selling Monat, I’ll still let you know about sales. I’ll keep track of progress on the house and make sure to keep anyone updated on those projects. I’m still here, just limiting social media’s power and control on my life. Love you all. Happy New Year!    I could write a long post about new beginnings, brighter futures, New Years resolutions blah blah blah... but honestly I’m just sitting here so damn grateful at the close of 2020.    It wasn’t a smooth year, and I in no way discount the hard year it’s been.
