HILSON HEADCANONS

- They decorate during the holidays! Not religiously or anything. Just lights and wintry things. Wilson started the tradition. House always complains about it but then if they don’t do it by a certain date he’ll complain even more (he views it as a date. He loves unconventional dates).

- Wilson tends to get stress induced migraines. I’m TIRED of the ‘Wilson spoils House’ propaganda it’s RECIPROCATED BACK!!! House being an ass does not indicate self centeredness or him being chronically selfish. Houses number one pride is his ability in medicine and caretaking so of course he more than happily does so for Wilson. He cooks for him when he gets home, helps co manage Wilson’s cases, etc.

- Wilson gets cuteness aggression. Mainly when House is asleep or something. ‘Cringe’ I DON’T CARE. They’re old and in love and he thinks his partner looks cute when he’s in a peaceful state or talking about something he genuinely enjoys. He adores how content he looks and it makes him want to kiss him all over (sometimes he will).

- If Wilson doesn’t pay attention to him the first couple of times House swipes as much stuff off of Wilson’s desk. That or he starts moving things in his room until Wilson is forced to pay attention to him. Sometimes he really just does it because he’s bored.

- They both have favorite positions to sleep in and will try to ‘fight’ each other for them. House’s favorite is to lay facing him, legs over Wilson. Face against his chest. He’s very big on skin to skin contact. Wilson on the other hand REAAALLY likes spooning him. Usually the ‘fighting’ is them wrestling around until one of them gets tired enough and the other wins their favorite. They’re STUPIDLY competitive about it.

- Wilson is pretty strong. They both are but Wilson is like. Unexpectedly very strong. Like given he wants to sometimes he’ll just randomly manhandle House (who loves it, surprise!) If House isn’t paying attention to what he’s saying he’ll sometimes make him by deadass just lifting him up onto a counter or pressing him into a wall or something. He can also be very assertive.

- Wilson sleep talks occasionally. House finds it extremely entertaining and will lay there and just chat with him a bit before waking him up so Wilson can actually get some good sleep.

HILSON x ALT/GOTH PARTNER HCS…

• house frequently takes the piss, not because he doesn’t like it, rather, he LOVES the fact you’re goth/alt because he is the OG “i have a goth partner” truther

• wilson doesn’t understand any of the things you wear or style, but he often tries to buy you little accessories that he thinks you will wear, although he doesn’t quite get it every time, you have some really cool boots he found, and some sick bits of jewellery that you love!!

• honestly they’re both a little bit obsessed, if they’re in the same room as you in the hospital, you have to snap them out of staring at you, or remind them that they were asked a question very often - even in the most simple alt outfit… it has them WHIPPED

• wilson is a simp at his very core and has to make sure he doesn’t have a semi if he is staring at you for too long, and house loves to rile him up about it, often trying to make it worse by whispering in his ear (making wilson punch him in the nuts if he needs to be somewhere and can’t deal with it wink wonk)

• house loves to compose music based on your outfits or makeup… or vibe in general, only little trills or melodies but he will stop you before you all leave for work “wait- i can hear this one, let me just-“ you and wilson stop and sigh affectionately, listening to his tune

• i firmly believe that wilson wears the metaphorical pants in the relationship, but my god is he easily flustered when you do a whole ass LOOK, house is too, but he just lays on the flirting thick af which makes you feel great

• if you move into the condo with them, they slowly encourage you to make the space yours too, and slowly there’s alternative decor spattered across the kitchen, living room, the halls: spider web coasters, your book/music collections, your accessories and any makeup you might or might not use has a permanent space in the bathrooms.

• when you first get together, you worry they might find it too much, but they want you to be 100% you and subtly let you know that they’re not embarrassed by you and LOVE the way you express yourself

• no matter what season of ducklings, no one expects you to get with them, let alone BOTH of them. Chase almost malfunctions when the truth slips out in a DDx, and the fact you’d managed to hide it for so long, but foreman just rolls his eyes as if he expected something like this by now.

Wilson likes to pretend he's fine. He likes to act like nothing happened, like he's not traumatized, like he can move on from finding House almost dead. But he still wakes up at night sweating and hyperventilating because he can't stop picturing House crumpled up on his living room floor, barely breathing. He's gotten into the habit of frantically calling House at random times during the night, seeking reassurance that he's there, that he's alive. House is grumpy and irritated, but he always picks up and keeps his ringer on and his phone near him just in case Wilson calls. He complains about being woken up and tells Wilson he needs to go see a shrink, but he always makes sure to breathe just a little deeper so that Wilson can hear. He never hangs up until he's sure that Wilson's calmed down and can go back to sleep.

House likes to pretend that nothing happened. He likes to pretend like he's okay, like that night doesn't haunt him, like that guilt over hurting Wilson doesn't threaten to eat him alive. Like he hasn't made a promise to himself to never make Wilson go through that again.

House and Wilson both like to pretend, too bad they see right through each other.

not rlly absurd but here we go

no matter what, wilson is a better cook and baker. the days they dont do takeout are the days wilson whips up a fantastic meal. house is endlessly and vocally jealous

wilson and cuddy (and sometimes ducklings, depends on seniority) have regular talk-shit tea parties. house is not invited but he knows about them and tried to spy once. they ended up sacking him with the bill and everything he heard was decoy conversation (did you know that the barnacle relative to its size-)

house helps wilson learn spanish by refusing to speak to him in english for days on end (and will torment the ducklings just for fun the same way) and takes full advantage of wilson's limited vocab to pepper him with affection. this backfires very quickly as wilson learns

while wilson encourages but doesnt participate, house is a closet musical theater nerd. pretty cool when his mayfield roomie alvie wrote that blockbuster broadway show about a founding father

wilson has stuffed animals and hes almost one hundred percent convinced house does too but to this day the evidence is circumstantial at best

they have both literally slept together on wilson's office couch during all nighter hospital stays and sometimes find excuses to do so before and during their relationship

the stint with the 82yo woman with syph (s1e8) lets say,, inspired house to write poetry. rlly intentionally bad poetry. he leaves sticky notes of terrible lines all over wilson's side of the bathroom. to this day wilson has never told a soul and has kept all of them

they definitely have like cooking competitions and house is way more petty so whenever wilson cooks something delicious he has to pretend he doesn't like it

SO TRUE, remember that episode where house thought wilson and cuddy had fucked and wilson kept on fooling house about it? same shit, house would go to wilson to "corroborate" tea he had heard and he would be fooled every single time

i would have paid for one episode where house does not speak a word in english just to mess with everybody. i love the idea of wilson and house being competitive

LMAO NOT HAMILTON OMG and considering hugh was the inspiration for "you'll be back", then house was alvie's inspiration. house is definitely a musical theatre junkie but won't admit it bc he knows wilson will mock him

but what about when the ducklings catch them? they come up with the most absurd excuses, at least house does. wilson can’t figure anything out so when cameron asks him in private he just confesses

ok but wilson doesn't even tell house about them, until one fight where house says wilson never cared about their relationship, wilson shows him all the post its he has been saving since day one.

then they have sex.

HILSON THOUGHTS! ITS BEEN A WHILE!

Sorry it’s been so long! Been a while since I’ve had time to sit down and organize these. Enjoy :]

- Wilson’s shower time is House’s shower time. When Wilson mentions he’s going to go shower guess who’s trailing right behind him and quickly following him. It happened enough times as a joke initially that it just became their routine and neither of them like going without it for the most part.

Sometimes to troll him Wilson will run quick and go in by himself and House acts like he’s been kicked the ENTIRE night. He will complain and move away from him when Wilson tries to be affectionate (he’s always won back with food)

- Wilson gets him very obscure gifts but he really, really likes them. Like he gets House one of those human dog beds hear me out. He’ll come home and House is curled up in it with some of his shitty pizza rolls watching monster truck recaps or doing papers. His autistic urge to be near the floor must be fulfilled.

- House is a night owl and Wilson is an early bird. Pretty implied in the show but they’re suuuuuper sweet with each other when they’re tired I think. House stays up watching TV for like two hours or so in bed so he really likes having Wilson lay his head on his chest during that time so he can play with his hair and also look at him cause he’s weird like that. In the mornings House struggles to get up BADDDDD so Wilson always gets their things ready in the morning…comes in and puts coffee on the bedside and cups his cheek to wake him up.

They both love kissing each other when they’re asleep I don’t care. They both get so much joy out of seeing the other asleep and peaceful that it just does something to them.

- House is obsessed with his forearms. I mean who isn’t but he in particular is. Finds them attractive. Deadass to the point where he’ll get distracted during something serious and Wilson has to roll them up to get him to lock in.

Honestly he finds a lot of random things about Wilson attractive. Loves the small things about him that get underlooked. Loves every mole on his body, the creases his face/mouth gets with certain expressions, his cupids bow…he’s obsessed w everything. His analyzation of everything makes him have a deeper love for him and loved ones in general.

- House has definitely picked up some of Wilson’s mannerisms subconsciously. Small little things like ways of speaking or facial expressions he makes that he’s just picked up randomly. Wilson never teases him about it because he finds it endearing. To him, it’s its own, weird House show if affection that he could be so effected by him that it manifests in who he is.

House regularly jokes to Wilson about killing himself, and Wilson always rolls his eyes or huffs out a laugh. But after he finds House overdosing in his apartment, House realizes that every time he makes those jokes, Wilsons eyes darken, and he stiffens, involuntarily reaching out to grip onto him, like hes reassuring himself that House is still there, still alive. House stops joking about it then.

The fic is up!! It's 4 chapters in total, and it's complete! Here is the summary:

Gregory House has risked it all and faked his death to spend James Wilsons last five months together. When he finds Wilson crying on the couch one night, all those pesky repressed feelings come to the surface. When Wilson reveals that he regrets where his life will be at when he dies, House makes the impulsive decision to propose, right there in the living room. Wilson accepts, and they both can finally express their hidden feelings for each other. They begin a world wind romance, and spend the little time they have left together finally acting on their feelings. They finally make it to the court house, and they can die knowing they're together.

Or - Wilson regrets not being able to grow old with a wife and kids, and House decides he can give him one of those things. A fic centering Houses proposal to Wilson and them getting married.
