hey anna!! for the halloween celebration "are you sure you're warm enough?" with calum!

hi nat! as you know this was such a fun blurb to write! this is a continuation of the blurb I wrote for you last month 🥰 this was easily over 1.1k words, whooops 

"Are you sure your warm enough?"

Date night with Calum was easily one of your favorite past times with him, you always took turns planning date night whether it was something elaborate like tonight's adventure or a simple coffee shop date.  Tonight, You and Calum decided to plan the date together because of how elaborate it was. Calum wanted to take you to the fall festival in town and you wanted to see the pumpkin patch you drove by on your way to work. You both decided to go to the pumpkin patch first before the sun went down, he drove as his hand rested on your thigh like it always did.

The pumpkin patch was surrounded by families and teenagers getting pumpkins, Calum’s hand gripped yours tight. You kissed his cheek and whispered, "I love when you hold my hand like someone is going to take me away from you."

He chuckled and kissed your forehead, "You never know baby, I have to be sure." He winked as he led you further into the pumpkin patch as your other hand pulled the wheelbarrow along.

"No one could take me from you hubby." You beamed as he smiled at you.

"They better not Wifey." He smile, kissing your lips softly.

You smiled against his lips and beamed "I love you."

"Let's get some pumpkins my love, that is why we're here." He chuckled while his eye dimples on full display.

You giggled as you kissed his cheek, "You mean we're not here to make out?"

He let out a laugh shaking his head smirking at you, "Baby we don't have to leave the comfort of our own home to do that, how many pumpkins are you thinking?"

"Is 5 too much? 2 big ones and 3 little ones?"

“That’s a good idea, we’ve got plenty of room on the front stairs for them,” Calum commented as he walked with you in search of the pumpkins you wanted. You leaned down and grabbed two small ones that were the perfect size as Calum grabbed a big one setting it in the wheelbarrow. Calum grabbed the handle and pulled it as you walked with him further into the patch.

You pointed out a second bigger one, Calum took the lead and went for it as you luckily found the last small one. You waited for Calum to put the bigger one in first before placing the smaller one in.

Calum pulled the wheelbarrow with one hand as the other one grabbed your hand, “I was thinking before we go to the fall festival we could stop at Starbucks and get hot chocolate. What do you think?”

“That’s a perfect idea baby.” You smiled kissing his cheek.

“I thought so,” He smiled walking with you towards the checkout area where they weighed the pumpkins. As the cashier weighed every pumpkin before typing in the amount you attempted to get out your wallet and pay, Calum chuckled as he handed the cashier his card before winking at you. Thankfully the cashier let you use the wheelbarrow to transport your assorted pumpkins, Calum took the lead and walked with you to the car. You took the car keys out of his pocket and unlocked the car opening the trunk for him as you both unloaded the pumpkins into the trunk. You walked the empty wheelbarrow to the front and walked back to the car hand in hand.

After settling in the car you drove to the nearest Starbucks and decided to go to the drive-through as the sun hit your engagement ring that decorated your left hand perfectly. Calum must’ve noticed you staring at it, softly squeezing your thigh, “Admiring your ring Mrs. Hood?”

“I am Mr. Hood, it’s beautiful.” You knew what his response was going to be as you pulled into the drive thru.

“It’s nowhere near as beautiful as you.” He smiled leaning over to kiss your cheek.

You giggled at his response; Calum wasn’t one for overly cliche comments but he rarely ever turned away from them when you commented on somethings beauty. “Mhm.”

You ordered two hot chocolates for the both of you and paid before Calum could get the chance to get his wallet out, after you received your drink you started to drive to the fall festival. Calum’s hand stayed on your thigh throughout the entire drive as the both of you sipped your cocoa. Calum controlled the music in the car softly humming along to each song as he flashed a smile in your direction. You both finished your cocoa before exiting the warm car.

Crisp air surrounded you along with a mixture of the aroma of corn & hay. You regretted wearing a cute sweater versus a warm one; Calum questioned your outfit choice knowing the weather dropping when the sun went down. He specifically wore your favorite leather jacket of his in case you needed it. He led you towards the corn maze as he kept you as close as he possibly could keep you to his warm body, he let go of your hand so his arm could snake around your waist. You wrapped your arm around his waist as you rested your hand on his chest as he led you towards the hay ride he’d talked about, you followed his lead as you weeded through the crowd of people.

He helped you get on the hay ride moments before getting on and sitting next to you, his arm wrapped around your shoulder holding you as close as he possibly could before the driver began. You attempted to hide how cold you really were but you knew it wasn’t going to last; Calum knew you better than anyone. You shivered against him and he gave you a knowing look before pulling you into his lap and wrapping his arms tightly around you, “Are you sure you’re warm enough?”

You smiled looking in his eyes, “I am now.” You answered as you felt your body shiver against him. Without hesitation he took off his jacket and threw it over you.

“Better my love?” He asked kissing your lips softly.

“Much better.” You smiled cupping his face with your hands before kissing him, you instantly smiled against his lips as you felt his warmth radiate off of him. “Cal?”

“Yes?” Calum said as he tucked your hair behind your ear, causing your heart to skip a beat as he looked at you lovingly.

“Is there a reason you call me Mrs. Hood before we get married? Not that I’m complaining because I’m not but I’m just curious is all.” You asked softly, gazing into his brown eyes .

Without a second thought he answered, “As long as you and I have lived together, I’ve seen you as my family. You’ve been a part of my family ever since and you’ve always been Mrs. Hood to me before I even proposed, I didn’t need a license to prove it to me.”

You swore you could feel your heart melt into a puddle hearing his response, you knew he was telling you the truth due to the fact he had treated you like family for as long as you could remember. “I love you.”

“I love you beautiful.” He smiling kissing your lips once again except this time he kissed you slowly as he savored every second of his lips connected to yours

I feel like this is a cop-out answer since it’s their most popular song, but I’ll be damned if “Youngblood” still does not hit like it did when it first came out! That song is a banger and a half and it’s what eventually dragged me down into this fandom, so it’s my number one <3

43. A 5sos song that you love but most people don’t?

This is a good question because I think for the most part, I follow the trends of what songs are considered “good” by the majority. I’d say that after the excitement from the release of CALM slowed, the hype behind “Lover of Mine” seemed to really die down and I’ve seen a lot of people saying they don’t like it due to the lyrical content and that it contradicts the way the song is trying to be portrayed as (not saying whether i agree or disagree!), but I’ll be honest; “Lover of Mine” is for sure in my top 5 favorite 5sos songs. 

44. A 5sos song that you don’t like but most people love?

OH GOD, WHERE DO I BEGIN? I will ALWAYS skip “Best Friend”, “Good Girls”, and “Just Saying”. i cannot STAND them. i pretend they do not exist. I don’t know that those are songs that most people necessarily LOVE, but those songs are not real to me. I did REALLY dislike “High” for the first, like, 4 months after CALM came out, but it’s growing on me now.

52. A 5sos song that has a special meaning to you?

I was originally going to say that I don’t think any of them really have a special meaning, but then I remembered “Babylon” because my idiot ass made a comment about how the lyrics didn’t make sense and now you and I have this ongoing inside joke about “white moon”, so that’s a very special meaning to me! 

65. If you could chose one song to put on the setlist, which song would you pick?

IF YOU DON’T KNOW BECAUSE IT’S MY FAVORITE! FEED MY ANGSTY HEART, YOU COWARDS! but also “Midnight” because I know they’ve never performed it and they never will 😭

Ever since Michael saw the notorious house on his way back from a photoshoot he hadn’t stopped talking about it; you were unsure why he constantly talked about it until he insisted on showing you it on the way back from a date night. It wasn’t easy to see the house in the dark but from what you could make out it was beautiful- it still didn’t answer the impending question why he loved it so much.

You were unsure if he wanted to move to the house or just loved the architecture. One night he looked up the house and showed it to you in all it's glory; it was an Victorian house that has been abandoned for unknown reasons for decades. It looked like a house you saw in movies although you weren’t positive which genre of movie it would fit in with.

Almost 2 weeks later and you stopped hearing about the house all together sending a spiral of questions through your psyche; Did he forget about it? Was there a reason he stopped talking about it? Did you imagine him bringing it up?

You weren’t entirely sure until one night after date night he brought up the house asking if you’d be interested in going inside. You couldn’t see why not to at the time so you agreed wondering how you were going to get inside, he explained he contacted the owner and shared his interest in the property. You were ill prepared for how huge the house was in reality, as MIchael pulled into the driveway with a giant smile on his face you knew this wasn’t going to be a quick trip.

Michael cut the engine and turned to look at you while he took off his seatbelt, "Ready kitten?"

Your heart melted at the nickname he called you, it was easily one of your favorites. "Of course handsome, let's go."

You followed after him getting out of the car; he held your hand tightly as he walked with you towards the front door. He got the house key out of his pocket with a playful smirk before using the key to open the door with an old fashioned knocker.

He led you into the house before closing the door behind you and you both took in the mansion. The walls were a light cream colored with astonishing wood interior, the grand piano paired with the wide strair case made the house magnificent. Wind whistled sending goosebumps down your spine as the cold air brushed your skin. You could've sworn you heard a door slam but it couldn't possibly be that, until you heard it again. "Babe did you hear that?"

"Hear what kitten?" He asked as his hand rubbed your lower back soothingly.

"A door slammed twice, did you not hear it?"

His eyes widened while his eyebrows raised, "You heard that too?"

"Of course, I thought I was imagining things until I heard it again!"

"Let's keep walking, it was probably the wind." He reassured as he led you further into the house. His fingers intertwined with yours as you walked up the staircase, the wood creaking as you walked. He led you into the closest room as you felt a chill breeze sending goosebumps all over your skin as while you heard the sound of piano keys.

“Michael, did you hear that?” You whispered as he cleared his throat and gripped your hand.

He nodded and bit his lip, “I don’t think we’re alone.”

“Michael! You didn’t tell me this place was haunted!” You gasped as you left the room and walked back down the stairs as the wood creaked.

Michael grabbed the key and led you out of the house before closing the door behind him, “I didn’t think it was really haunted, I thought it was just stories people told so they’d stay away from the house!”

“Mhmm, we’re never going back there.” You insisted as you walked with him to the car, Michael drove you both home as he played your favorite music in an effort to help you forget about the haunted house. When you got home he drew a bath for the two of you as you relaxed listening to classical music as he held you tight.
