I know I'm over a decade behind on this one, but man did the writers for s7 of HIMYM go hard on the feels.
In this one season we have:
Lily getting pregnant and all the joy of that but also all the Ted questioning of where things are at for him because he so wants to be in that place but just so isn't.
Ted/Barney almost adopting a kid together
Robin/Barney will they/won't they
Robin having a pregnancy scare/finding out she can't have kids/the breakup with Kevin (who was honestly fantastic and the actual nicest dude on the show and did not deserve to be cheated on). The episode with Robin getting drunk at Christmas on her own and talking to her kids who don't exist was really a gut punch. Robin choosing Kevin over Barney but it doesn't work out anyway. ARGH.
Marshall continuing to work through grieving his father's death.
Lily and Marshall moving to Long Island and the grief that happens when the gang of your 20s/early 30s breaks up because other priorities like children and relationships outside the gang come along and the dynamic shifts and you can't hang out in the same spot every day like you've been doing for the last 7 years.
The clarity that Robin and Ted just can't be friends because the possible case of feels is there and will maybe always be there and it's like the worst situationship.
Ted realising he's stagnating and makes the decision to move out as a way to shake things up.
That weird thing that happens in your early 30s where everyone is proposing to everyone ALL THE TIME and too quickly because they're having feelings of where they want to be in life but they're not there but also they should definitely do better at having hard conversations before getting engaged rather than after.
