I spent 9 years of my life watching and re-watching ever episode of How I Met Your Mother, I have whole episodes memorized simply because i've seen them so many damn times, and the ending was perfect. The finale wasn't wish fulfillment, it wasn't a long drawn out chick flick where Ted finally meets the girl of his dreams and they live happy ever after. It was real. People die, marriages end, friends drift apart and the writers weren't afraid to give it's fans the truth. It was more real than most shows ever even dream of being. Bravo Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. Bra-Fucking-Vo.
I think I'm so upset because it took so long for me to convince myself that Ted would never end up with Robin and trying to make that okay in my mind. So I finally did and everything was alright and I was happy for her and Barney, and now I'm just like "Fuck you don't give me what I wanted after I had to make myself okay with it never happening!?!>"
