“Edgar Linton was a white boy with fair hair and blue eyes and was born into an extremely wealthy family, whereas on the other hand Heathcliff , who is described to be a POC, was an abandoned child implied to be a slave before he was taken in by the Earnshaws where, after the death of the kind and paternal Mr Earnshaw, he was forced to become a servant by Mr Earnshaw’s nefarious son, Hindley, who was jealous of the affection showered by his father on Heathcliff. Additionally, Heathcliff is constantly treated and ostracised as ‘other’ because of his skin colour and even called slurs. Linton and Heathcliff’s contrasting races and upbringings highlight their juxtaposition.”
