Bastien Kendrick | 38 | Initiative | Geneva | Asexual/Aromantic | Josh Duhamel

Basically, this is a want ad looking for Emmeline’s older brother and hero. I’ve tried twice to get this thing off the ground and both times it’s failed me in some way, so I’ll probably be a little picky about this ad and hope that third time’s the charm hahaha.

This is Bastien Kendrick - I would love it if you kept that name, but if you absolutely loathe it I can negotiate haha. He's Emmeline's older brother and, yes, her actual hero.

They were born in Touraine, France, and despite the fact he could get away with murder with their father and she couldn't, he was always on her side to defend her when need be. He was simply her constant; the one person she could talk to about anything, who would never judge her (even if on the rare occasion he spoke with her bluntly and did tell her when she'd fucked up). He's incredibly protective of his baby sister and will do what he can to make things easier and better for her.

He excelled in engineering - specifically construction and machines - so it was no surprise when he was being shipped out to Geneva to be the Initiative's Foreign Service Specialist in Construction Engineering. What this means is that he travels from shatterdome to shatterdome monitoring and reporting on contract work to ensure that the construction of new Jaegers and renovation of existing Jaegers are completed properly, on time and within budget. Because it’s the Initiative who ensures the PPDC are funded and they want to make sure the work that’s being done is being done well. It's an incredibly well-paid job and he enjoys the fact it lets him travel quite a lot; something he always wanted to do.

He was the first person Emmeline told when she got pregnant (she tried to hide it at first); because he heard about her transferring from Hong Kong to LA and simply knew that was weird behaviour for her. So he turned up at her door to make her spill everything.

Needless to say, he gently told her what a mess she'd made and how silly she'd been, privately disapproved of her desire to pretend that it wasn't all happening and held her when she hid away every time she heard that Alpha Retriever had been dispatched. Aka, Bennett's -- the father of her child -- Jaeger.

He would give her tiny updates on her daughter whenever he was in Hong Kong during that year - such as the fact she had the same blonde hair or that she was crawling now - and ultimately he was the one who convinced her to return there to fix things. As you can imagine, Bastien may at times be hard on Emmeline when his gentle and supportive coercion fails to motivate her, but he sure as Hell won't let anyone else treat her like crap; which means he won't be afraid to butt heads with Bennett and defend her either.

His personality is... Well, he's a gentleman. He's respectful and polite, doesn't brag about achievements or his own/his family’s wealth. And clearly, he has to have kept something of his French accent because wow what a charmer. It’s also important to note that Bastien is completely asexual and aromantic, and I’m rather immovable on that front - it’s something we can discuss further if you’re interested in the ad!

Basically, Emmeline just needs her older brother because she's going through the wars with all of her still very intense feelings and needs him so much for support. Take him and I will happily kill you with sibling feels.

Say hello to Lakyn your local badass who probably has punched you. She is the youngest of the Hale siblings and just like the rest of her siblings she is a reckoning in the Ranger World. After a recent miscarriage she put in for a transfer to Hong Kong so while is fairly new there I would think she would have a few friends or atlast a few aquantinces. Also along the way I am sure she has made plenty of enemies as well. SO basically this girl needs everything from friends and enemies, romantically her future is snagged but she might have had a one night stand or two since going to Hong Kong so if you’re game toss them this way.

Any updates on when you'll open?

The lovely Captain and I both have work and responsibilities that take immediate priority - naturally - but that being said, the end of this week is looking good for us!

I know we’re an eclectic group of time zones, but is there any time in particular that people would prefer? Fri/Sat/Sun will be the day range we’re looking at.

hello lovelies! as some of you may have already found out, maeve and i captain are planning a reboot of help is on the way. we’re not completely sure of an opening date yet, but we’re working hard to get everything up and running as soon as possible! in the meantime, we wanted to give our old members a chance to reclaim their characters before opening everything up to the public. feel free to message us on here, or give a shoutout in the c-box on site, just letting us know which characters you’d like to reclaim! we’re both super excited to see everyone back!
