When Rap Battles inspire new friendships - damn I STILL love H.E.R. . 👯♀️ I noticed after moving back to Singapore that people saw emcee battles here, alot differently from how I experienced it from Toronto and New York. I was told it was confrontational, negative or “I’m not that kind of person”. I don’t see battles this way. Yes, Rap battles are confrontational but mostly you are confronting yourself. What do you fear? What can you do to push yourself to be better at your craft? What can you learn from another artist that your ego may not let you see from a day to day. This is why I see battling as a healthy part of any Hiphop diet. Last night I learned so much from @shikarashahrin - grace under pressure, laughter in the heat of battle, an appreciation for a Rap flow that was different from my own and when the smoke clears...The respect for another #FarEastEmpress ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽 #FemaleEmcee #FemaleRapper #Hiphop #HiphopSG #HiphopMY #girlpower #womanquotes #womanempowerment #womancrushwednesday #woman #boomarang #fliptop #onelove (at Singapore)
