idk what TA is but when i was in the NYC elementary schools all of our report card grades were from 4 to 1
TA is teaching assistant, so the grad student who does recitation for a lecture. and yeah that's true! all the elementary schools i've worked in here in nyc use the 1-4 system

i have a prof with a check, check minus, and check plus system for informal papers. that is strange.
ugh yeah my TA for islamic societies did the same thing. i hated it because "check" was good and "check plus" was VERY good, but like if i didn't get a check plus i wondered what i did wrong. but usually it meant, like, i didn't do extra research on iran or something
