Day 2 of Drabble Challenge: Faceless

Have a little bit of original fiction angst with my vampire character

It was a long time before Josefine could see herself in mirrors. Now that they were no longer silver-backed, vampires could now be treated to their reflections. Josefine avoided them for a long time, unsure of how to react. Since her turning, she felt faceless, losing her defining features and recognition before being replaced with endless teeth. That had been the star of some of her nightmares. Looking at her reflection could probably cure the nightmares, but she didn’t want to inspire another set. After all, she didn’t want to see the face of the young girl she once was.

Day 5 of Drabble Challenge: Cold

I swear I'm still posting these, the past few days have been out of wack for me. But here's another domestic Yuetara drabble!

Pairing: Yue/Katara

It was cold and for Yue, that meant it was cold.

Spring was supposed to be around the corner, but winter decided it wanted to give a last performance before things warmed up.

Which meant that her flowers weren’t blooming soon.

Yue stared out the window at the wilted flowers in her flowerbed, colors muted. They’ll spring up sooner or later. Hopefully, if the weather for next week is going to be correct. (Katara doubted it, but Yue held onto hope.) Soon, she could tend to the flowers or buy new ones.

For now, the bouquet Katara bought her worked.

Day 3 of Drabble Challenge: Painter

Domestic Yuetara time! I think the majority of these drabbles are dedicated to Yue and Katara in a modern AU. This piece also uses today's prompt from @domaystic "at the flea market."

The flea market was bustling with pedestrians, but at least it wasn’t packed. Katara weaved her way through the crowd, on the lookout for Yue. Her eyes scanned over the booths of various wears, taking consideration of prices. It didn’t take long before she found her at a painter’s booth, gazing over the artwork.

“There you are,” Katara said, moving to Yue’s side.

Yue looked up, wide-eyed. “Sorry. I was entranced by this person’s art.” She pointed to a piece of a snowy landscape, with the aurora hanging in a velvet blue sky. “It’ll look great in the living room.”

Day 4 of Drabble Challenge: Quarter

Another Yuetara domestic drabble! Combined with @domaystic prompt "the dream."

Katara watched Yue give Izumi a quarter for the gumball machine. Sokka, Suki, and Zuko were going on vacation, so she and Yue offered to watch their niece.

For a moment, she felt a sense of peace wash over her. She and Yue were married, Izumi was turning six next month, and all their friends were happy in their own relationships. They all achieved degrees and careers; some started families, even. Wasn’t there a time this all felt out of reach for Katara? And now, here she was, in the airport with her wife and niece.

This is the dream.

Day 1 of Drabble Challenge: Carriage

Here we go: The first drabble for the Drabble Challenge!

Katara watched the procession roll past her, flanked by guards on horses. She couldn’t tell if it was the royal family or some being that demanded the same respect. Probably both. A carriage rolled by, silver with koi fish painted on the sides. Katara looked up and froze. Inside was a beautiful woman with a shock of white hair. There was a brief flash of eye contact—breathtaking and perfect—before the carriage continued on its way. She blinked, feeling the woman’s eyes on her. She had been against working for royalty or the like, but now, she needed to get in.

Getting to Know Your Story - Final Thoughts

So, safe to say that I didn't finish this fic. It's nowhere near complete yet (then again, I was mainly transcribing the story from paper to computer), but I progressed by adding in scenes that felt right. Mainly having a secondary character become more prominent than just a name in the background.

I'm hoping to get a better idea for what comes next, because I have an idea of some of the bigger parts but the connecting pieces are tougher. I am excited for those bigger scenes! And while it won't be a huge burst of an ending, it's one of those that feels like rot seeping in. Definitely feels like a good way to end this story.

In the meantime, this made me excited to write for this pairing even more. Yes, I started thinking of another fic please don't ask I think I'm starting to enjoy writing for this fandom now!

I can't wait to see where this fic goes!
