You know what, Kaldur does not nearly get enough credit for his role in Season 2. From episode 1 we as the audience were fooled into thinking that the former leader of Young Justice turned into a coldhearted villain. In fact, he played the role of a villain so convincingly well that no one questioned his motives or his switching sides, and had to endure the fact that most of his former teammates saw him as a traitor for “killing” Artemis. He had to deal with the fact that he was simultaneously working for and ultimately against his birth father Black Manta, a man so clearly on the wrong side of justice yet he treated Kaldur with fatherly love and truly cared for him. To have to work against someone who is your own flesh and blood, even if they are “evil”, is such a difficult choice to make and he chose to uphold the greater good. On top of that, he was basically lobotomized by Miss Martian and had to deal with making his mind whole again, as if the whole double agent setup wasn’t hard to keep up with.
He knew of the repercussions going into this, how dangerous the mission was, and how even one wrong move could result in the deaths of him and his friends. He knew people would end up despising him, but his sense of justice never wavered even as he faced off against his father. Kaldur had one of the most important and dangerous roles in season 2 and he should be recognized for it. I just want to see him happy and catching a break in Season 4.
