ilya with a mild cold acting like he's on death's door vs ilya with a broken ankle insisting he can just skate it off
shane is a lot more free & confident & sure of himself in ep 5 because he has figured out he’s gay, he knows what he wants with ilya, etc. BUT a lot of it also is because he is very publicly dating a hot actress and he feels this huge weight off of his shoulders—he doesn’t have to try so hard to seem straight anymore because everyone in the world knows that he has been with a woman. this makes him feel safe in his closet and more comfortable admitting that he is gay to himself :(
