I have finally added a second item to my collection: some antique microscope specimen slides for histology studies. I was drawn to this set by the ‘tongue of a bee’ and the ‘lung of a Saw Grinder’. Beyond any scientific fascination, there’s something very aesthetically pleasing about them. I love the colour and I like the way they look like a set of interesting patterns when they are lined up side-by-side. The slides reflect my interest in taxidermy and living organisms which I feel will be the theme of a large body of my collection.
