Going through her assignments for the night, she noticed that Historia’s wasn’t up to the standards it usually was, but checking over the other subjects on her online record, she noticed that recently all her grades had seemed to slip from their average. Hanji had a lot of students, though she knew most of them well, she tried her best to be there if they needed her, even getting a work mobile so she could give her number out to them.
The next day, Hanji handed back out the assignments with their grades and comments, at the end of her lecture, her eyes scanning the class and rolling as they started getting louder. “Read the comments and follow the guidance and you have one more chance to submit it. Have any questions then talk to me here, over phone, or email. There’s no excuse. You can all do this” she told them just before the bell rung to signal the end of class.
“Historia” Hanji called and smiled, “I have your pen” she said, waving the pen she had borrowed at the start to make it less obvious that Historia was kept behind to have a talk.
When it was just the two women, Hanji handed the pen back, “Historia... your grades” she started quietly, “They’ve dropped a lot. Not just in this lesson but in your others too. What’s going on?” the teacher asked, giving the blonde student time to reply by not pushing for an answer. She’s voiced her concerns, Historia now knew she was aware and worried; maybe when she wanted, she would approach her for help.
