Shizune balled her hands into tight fits. The words of her master's own grandfather, not only stung but deeply penatrated to her heart. The one thing she was trying so hard to avoid. Years and years of running and hiding from it; the truth...

She wanted to believe, to have hope!

Maybe one day she'll be worthy of the legendary Sannin!

Someday she will be able to be strong!

She tried so so hard! Was it really all for nothing?

"So...What?" She seethed.

"SO WHAT HUH?! SO WHAT IF IT'S ALL FOR NOTHING?!" Her eyes started to burn a bit as she was holding back tears. "THIS IS MY LIFE! MY DECISION TO MAKE! IF I WANT TO LIE TO MYSELF THEN I'M GOING DO THAT!" She shouted at the first hokage. "AND YOU-! YOU JUST-! BUTT OUT!"

He took a step back, careful. Not because he was afraid, but because he respected her pain.

"Shizune, that bonsai is gone. It's been gone for at least ten years. You've been watering something that can't return. But that doesn't mean your effort was meaningless. Just because it can't grow doesn't mean you can't grow. And it doesn't mean you can't become everything you want to be."

He looked at the bonsai. Shizune was keeping alive the pot rather than the piece of wood.

Reina stares in his general direction for a few moments. A perplexed look spreading across her face. "I don't think I know who you are." she states, with her blue eyes staring at him intently. She knows most of the voices from Konoha but, she's not sure if she knows the person behind this one. Odd.

Sightless, cloudy eyes give him a once over. Are they a friend or foe? Surely a friend, if they're in the middle of the village like this. "Are you a member of the village or a visitor?" she questions. Being unable to see what he looked like made this much more difficult.

Shizune's eyes were still red from crying. "Lady Tsunade, I need you to be honest with me... What do I mean to you?" (Hiiii~)

Her hand stills just as she is about to raise the sake bottle to her lips.

Bloodshot honey eyes turn toward the voice.

Dan.

She shakes her head.

Blinks.

Her vision finally clears.

No.

Not him.

Never him again.

Shizune.

His niece.

His—

She looks away again.

Hurting.

Bitter.

She raises the bottle to her lips.

Drains it.

Sets it back on the table.

The sound of porcelain meeting wood is soft.

And yet...

Deafening in the silence that has settled around them.

What was Shizune to her?

She does not know.

The world thought Shizune to be her apprentice.

Dan had hoped Tsunade would become a mother figure to his niece.

Tsunade knew better though, didn’t she?

Shizune was a constant reminder of all the ways Tsunade had failed.

A grown woman. Dependent on a child. For survival. For company. For—

“Go back to bed, Shizune,” she whispers, bitterly.

Shizune was the sole reason she was continuing to pretend this meaningless existence still mattered. Pretended hard enough to actually believe it some days.

I always thought @tenebriism had a really nice aesthetic - their banners are beautiful, as is their header - of course, the aesthetics is only one of many great things about their blog.

⭐️ ― Convincing portrayal of a canon character.

@historias-multorum always does an amazing job but particular shout-out to their Hinata - just as adorable and endearing as in the show.

💻 ― Excellent writing.

Admittedly, haven't had a chance to write with them but someone whose writing always catches my eye would be @cursedfortune - I just think they're a really engaging and great writer.

🌼 ― Creative headcanons.

@fairymint - always a joy to read their headcanons and to see what Felix is up to.

🎙️ ― Great to talk to.

@hymns-across-the-stars - We've played Roblox a bit together, they're a fun mun and genuinely chill. Like them a lot.

📚 ― Nice threads to read.

@lastflowerpetal - of course it's even nicer to be writing with them but I love how they write Aerith and seeing her interact with and meet other characters.

🎀 ― All-around kind person.

@phntasmgoria - just an all around sweetheart and someone I genuinely need to hang out with more. Can't say enough good things about them.

📌 ― A staple on the dash.

@grimmjxw-jaegerjaquez - I see them on the dash pretty often and have even talked to them a bit - it's fun getting to learn a bit more about Bleach through their muses. They seem genuinely nice.

🏆 ― 10/10 blog, would recommend.

@monmuses - Toastie and their muses are just 10/10 and incredibly fun to write with, I keep meaning to send them more stuff.

What are some of your favorite ships with Sasuke?

i am super super biased and find my favorite ships to be the ones i've actually written, and the one i've written the most is sakura/sasuke with my friend mari. <3 but i'd say if i ignored the connections i've made through rp, my favorite ships for sasuke are tied between sakura/sasuke, naruto/sasuke, and sakura/naruto/sasuke.

i also really enjoy a lot of potential dynamics but i haven't had the chance to explore them! i'd love to see sasuke/lee, sasuke/choji, sasuke/neji. i'm also interested in sasuke with anyone else from taka. lowkey i'd eat my hands if i got to ship with a hinata one day fgdfgjkd i love her so much... i ship chemistry first and foremost, but my little brain does go a little wild thinking about the possibilities on my own. :>

Valentine's Day 2026 [NaruSaku]

cc-naruto-s-rank-shinobi Naruto’s heart raced as he walked into the hospital, soon presenting Sakura with a bouquet of pink flowers. They were pretty like her, but also as a symbol of his admiration for the kunoichi.

“These roses are pretty, but not as pretty as you. Will you be my Valentine, Sakura?”

At first, it just seemed like a normal day for Sakura. Valentine's Day didn't have as much sentiment as it used to when she was younger. So she decided to work away her negative feelings so she wouldn't be bothered. It was working for the most part, but Shizune gave her the rest of the day off so she could celebrate. It was a kind gesture, but she really just wanted not to think about the fact that she was alone on Valentine's Day... That was until Naruto showed up.

Seeing him with a bouquet of pink roses?! For her?! Her face went from normal to blushing in a matter of seconds! "A-Ahhhh! N-Naruto I-!"

"Y-Yes! YES! I'LL BE YOUR VALENTINE NARUTO!" Sakura was grinning ear to ear and wasted no time in wrapping her arms around him in a big hug!

Naruto might have been avoiding Sakura during the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, he was so nervous, he didn’t want to say something stupid in front of him before the big day. They have been through so much together, and the peaceful times now were perfect, he would be an idiot not to ask her on the day.

He even got Kiba to get the flowers for him, then summoned the courage the visit Sakura in the hospital. Everything paid off with her reaction, thank goodness, he barely managed to hold himself back from kissing her in the heat of the moment, think he did enough at her workplace as it was.

“Great! So when you’re not busy, let’s go on a date!” Naruto replied, putting Sakura down after spinning her around a little with his return hug.
