I'm extremely normal so my main takeaway from the first episode and a half of What We Do In the Shadows is a powerful wistfulness about the sheer amount of pride I am certain my favorite person* Dusty Springfield would feel knowing the credits music for this silly vampire show is the song "You're Dead" by her girlfriend from the '60s, Norma Tanega!

So whatever season Vikings is filming, Alfred is back. In my opinion, Judith and Aethelred are gone. Both Jennie and Darren live in England, now. Ferdia posted a picture today, which very clearly matched up to what Alex posted and one of his former band members was posting about being a Saxon today, and it’s clear that the Saxons are back.
The replies to some of it, made me go WTF.
Things like “So Alfred’s not dead?” “I’m so glad Alfred is alive.” Things like that.
Vikings fandom, I know some of you think the Vikings are all-powerful etc, but the Vikings are not killing Alfred. ALFRED DROVE THE VIKINGS OUT OF ENGLAND, not the other way around. I know Hirst has no common sense, but he’s not going to alter the history of the entire Vikings Age.
I get some people aren’t History people, but if you’re watching a Historical drama, it would probably be a good idea, to at least understand it, and understand that Alfred was the driving force of DRIVING THEM OUT, CONFINING THEM TO DANELAGH, OR THEY HAD TO CONVERT TO CHRISTIANITY.
Did the treaty hold? No. The Vikings of course, eventually came back and tried again. But once again, they ultimately were defeated by the Saxons, under Alfred the Great. His name is Alfred the Great, for a reason. In 896 of 897, they gave up. Some did retire to Northumbria, some to East Anglia, and those with no connection to England, retired back to the continent.
I’m trying to educate, not be lecturing. Just please remember, that Alfred was not just another English King. He was the first King that styled himself even, as King of the Anglo Saxons. He did so much than just the Vikings thing too. He created common law, did all sorts of things.
The Danes gave him hell, but they didn’t kill him. I get a lot of fans like to think they’re superior, but at the end of the day, they were driven out of England by Alfred, who is pivotal.
And for once, I’m very happy that Vikings is doing something right and bringing Alfred back. He is PIVOTAL to the Viking Age, even if Vikings insulted Alfred the Great, by making him a bastard.
i knew that hair looked familiar ;)

Um, I know exactly where they are. Not in a creepy way, I just mean that I have very much not lost track of these three humans. (It's pretty wild that this is the 40th anniversary of the 9 to 5 release date, though!)
Jane Fonda has that photo of herself with Harvey Milk up on the wall that's in the background of most of her COVID-19 videos. 😭😍🏳️🌈
