It was unfair of her to resent Harry for this arrangement. And yet, she resented him all the same. Perhaps because she had heard it from Lady Parkinson, of all people. Or because she felt betrayed, while knowing perfectly well that she had no right to feel this way. He was a friend, and besides, she had no dowry, no titles, nothing.

Hermione supposed she was really mad at herself for feeling like this. For caring so much about him. For being jealous of the girl he was going to marry.

"When were you going to share the news of your engagement?" she asked in place of a greeting, her voice cold and biting. "I would have congratulated you properly." It was easy to tell that she was not sincere -in fact, her words were dripping with sarcasm.

An eerie vision stepped out of the cold waves, long blue hair trickling down her back. Water flowed against her skin to return to the Ocean, leaving little droplets behind. Rán looked ageless, wild, and most importantly... angry. 

“You have been trying very hard to catch my attention,” she told the hooded silhouette standing on the beach, “well, now you have it.” Her voice was menacing, like a storm brewing on the horizon. Calm and yet implacable. 

“It is not very wise, to anger a Goddess. Speak before I decide to punish you for the mayhem you have caused.”

"Did you and your mother have a nice time while you were away?” The king questions, already waiting for the princess when she enters her chambers. The maids and guards have all been dismissed, and she should know by now why the king is here. It’s all his petty revenge against her mother, the woman that has lied for years about the girl being his daughter when the truth is so much more damning. The girl is nothing but a bastard begotten to a whore queen that took up a lover when while he was at war defending his lands and people. He can’t have the queen executed, she’s just as beloved as he is but he can take and use the one thing he knows the queen loves the most and rub it in her face. It’s why he’s there, the taste of alcohol still on his lips as he sits in the girl’s chambers.

his hands lift, showing that he carries no weapon. he’s been trying to pick up the native languages but he’s not as well versed in them as he would like – there are so many, and the nuances of them would take years for him to grasp. in what he hopes is the same language, he speaks:

     Once the man with the colored hair spoke, Akichita’s chin dipped to meet the eye of Wanahton’s at his side. He watched as his brow twitched and he gave a short nod toward the stranger’s position. He held no weapons, made a show of surrender, but that was the thing with these white men, the bright haired ones and the funny smelling ones. Sometimes they lie, no matter what tongue they bring with them.

    It is all well, if he was lying there are warriors who will cut him down the moment Akichita wishes it to be done.

Hamilton’s voice was raised, each word was spat with venom as the argument he had been dragged into reached a fever pitch. A step forward was taken as he shouted, then two until he was crowding Thomas’s space like a man on the attack. In desperate attempt to convey that he was correct Alexander flailed his arms wildly to emphasize each phrase. There was no way in hell that Jefferson was going to win this one, not that he ever did any.

His head spun before he was shoved against the wall knocking the wind out of him before he recognized Thomas’s lips pressing against his in a sloppy open mouthed kiss.
