ABSENT BURDEN
There is a feeling that arrives quietly,
Like light through a curtain in the morning,
It touches everything but does not ask for attention.
It can fill a room with warmth
Or silence.
Sometimes both at once.
It teaches you to reach out,
then reminds you
how it feels when no one reaches back.
Sadness does not shout
It waits.
It watches from the corner.
It asks you to sit still
and listen to the things
you tried not to feel.
