Ouran High School Host Club Boys reaction to accidentally startling their fem s/o awake and in the process s/o punches them in the face out of reflex.
~Tamaki Suoh~
Tamaki stumbled back from the bed, his hand flying up to cup his wounded nose. "Ow! My beautiful face, assaulted by the fist of my beloved!" he cried out dramatically.
Blinking the sleep from her eyes, his s/o sat up in bed looking startled and annoyed, her hair adorably mussed. "Tamaki? What the heck! Why did you wake me up like that?" She glared at him grumpily.
"Ah, my sweet, I'm so sorry! I only meant to gently rouse you from your slumber with a tender caress. I should have known better than to disturb a sleeping goddess!" Tamaki lamented, one hand still clutching his nose. "Can you ever forgive me?"
His s/o sighed, her annoyed expression softening a bit. "You shouldn't sneak up on me like that, you know I get startled easily. Is your nose okay? I didn't mean to hit you so hard..."
"It's quite alright, I'm sure it's not broken...probably," Tamaki said bravely, though his watering eyes suggested he was in a fair amount of pain. "I'm just happy you're awake now so I can bask in your radiant presence! The injury was worth it."
Rolling her eyes, his s/o reached out to pull Tamaki's hand away to examine his reddened nose. "You're ridiculous. But I'm sorry for punching you. Let me get you some ice, you dorky prince," she said fondly, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before climbing out of bed.
Tamaki beamed, his pain forgotten as he swooned after her. "Ah, I'm so lucky to have such a caring and benevolent girlfriend! Truly I am blessed!" He continued his flowery praises as he trailed behind her to the kitchen, while his s/o just shook her head with a small smile, well used to her boyfriend's silly but endearing antics by now.
~Kyoya Ootori~
Kyoya staggers back, his hand going to his face where her fist connected. He blinks in surprise for a moment before regaining his composure. Seeing the look of shock and horror dawning on her face, he holds up a hand to forestall the apologies about to pour out.
"It's alright, that was entirely my fault," he says calmly, gingerly touching his cheek. "I should know better than to startle you awake so abruptly. Old reflexes die hard, hmm?"
He gives her a wry smile. "I'm just glad your punch wasn't at full strength. Remind me never to sneak up on you."
Kyoya straightens his glasses which were knocked askew. "I'm fine, really. No permanent damage done, except perhaps to my pride." His eyes twinkle with humor behind the lenses.
He reaches out to gently cup her face, thumb brushing her cheek. "I'm sorry for frightening you, my love. It won't happen again." Kyoya leans in to place a soft, reassuring kiss on her forehead.
"Now, why don't you go back to sleep? I'll be more careful not to disturb your rest next time." He tucks the covers back around her and brushes a lock of hair off her face tenderly.
"Sleep well. I'll have a ice pack ready for my battle wound in the morning," Kyoya teases lightly as he turns off the light, his silhouette pausing in the doorway. "I love you, even if you do have a mean right hook. Goodnight, darling."
~Kaoru Hitachiin~
Kaoru accidentally startles his darling awake, and in her disoriented state, she reflexively punches him right in the face. Kaoru reels back, his hand flying up to his throbbing nose.
"Ow! Geez, you have quite a right hook!" he exclaims, looking more shocked than angry.
His girlfriend sits up, blinking the sleep from her eyes. "Oh my gosh, Kaoru! I'm so sorry, you startled me and I just reacted without thinking!" She reaches out to gently touch his face, concern etched on her features.
Kaoru can't help but chuckle, even as he gingerly touches his tender nose. "No, no, it's my fault. I shouldn't have woken you up so abruptly. Guess I learned my lesson, huh?"
He grins at her, that playful Hitachiin sparkle already returning to his amber eyes. "I didn't realize I was dating such a fierce warrior woman. Remind me to never get on your bad side!"
She rolls her eyes but smiles, relieved he's not upset. "Here, let me get you some ice for that."
As she starts to get up, Kaoru catches her hand. "In a minute. I think you owe me a kiss first, considering you just socked your loving boyfriend in the face." His tone is teasing, eyebrows raised expectantly.
Laughing softly, she leans in and presses a gentle kiss to his lips. "There. Am I forgiven?"
"Hmm, it's a start," Kaoru grins, pulling her in for a deeper, lingering kiss, the pain in his nose already forgotten. After all, Kaoru is resilient, good-natured, and certainly not one to hold a grudge over an accident, especially when it comes to the girl he loves.
~Hitachiin Hikaru~
Hikaru hadn't meant to startle her. Really, he hadn't. He'd just been excited to show her the new designer jacket he'd gotten, practically bouncing into her room where she'd been taking an afternoon nap. In his typical impulsive fashion, he hadn't considered that suddenly shaking someone awake might not be the best approach.
"Hey! Wake up, look at—" WHACK!
His darling's fist connected squarely with his nose before either of them fully processed what was happening. He stumbled backward, more shocked than hurt, amber eyes wide as he clutched his face.
"Hikaru!" she gasped, now fully awake and horrified. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!"
For a moment, he just stared at her, mouth slightly open. Then, in true Hitachiin fashion, his lips quirked into a devilish grin despite his watering eyes. "You know," he drawled, "if you wanted to rearrange my face, you could have just asked. Though I guess then Kaoru and I really would look different."
"This isn't funny!" she protested, scrambling out of bed to check his face. "You're bleeding!"
"Just a little," he shrugged, though he was clearly enjoying her fussing over him. "But wait until Kaoru hears about this. He'll never let me live it down." His expression suddenly turned thoughtful. "Though... maybe we shouldn't tell him right away. You could always punch him too, even things out?"
"Hikaru!"
"Kidding, kidding!" he laughed, catching her hands in his as she tried to swat at him again. "Though you do have a mean right hook. Remind me never to surprise you again."
"You better not," she muttered, but she was smiling now too. "What were you so excited about anyway?"
"Oh right!" Just like that, his earlier enthusiasm returned full force, momentarily forgetting about his throbbing nose. "Look at this jacket! Isn't it amazing? Kaoru got a similar one but in a different color because..."
He launched into an animated explanation about the designer and the subtle differences between his and Kaoru's pieces, gesturing wildly with one hand while the other still held an ice pack to his face. Despite the circumstances, his childlike excitement was as endearing as ever.
