A Day in Hokkaido (HITMAN Mini Comic)
A reenactment of my first encounter with Jason Portman. Had no idea he was a story mission. EDIT: TikTok video version here https://www.tiktok.com/@pbman_crane/video/7542540290993720584?lang=en

(I know it's been roughly 10 years between Lucas' escape and 47 getting out of the institute, but we ignore that here)
Back at it again with the shitty comics! Ugh. These comics feel like fanfiction, I swear to god.
Duuuuddddde I know.
I will be the first to admit that I get too mad about these comics... but they are messing with my faves here.
I demand justice.

I'm worried that the backlash against Absolution and the comic will convince IOI that the fans don't want story, and will just make the game into a disjointed murder simulator with no overarching story (here's your target, they did a bad thing, they have nothing to do with any of your other targets).
Possible, but overall I am optimistic that this is unlikely. The more likely scenario is that they keep churning out terrible stories while trying to recapture the glory days of Silent Assassin. If they’ve read any of the backlash, they’ll see that the fans don’t have a problem with having a story, they just want a good story.
The game writers have a story they want to tell, and they seem invested in it. I think the Providence storyline has been handled well so far (ignoring the comic).
All I can hope for is that the backlash against the comics means that IO will not consider them canon material – although I know I shouldn’t even bother to hope as they’ve already said that the comics will tie into the game story.
Oh well, if they’ve changed the lore once, maybe they’ll change it back.
Why would ANYONE watching the movies OR playing the games think 47 is emotionless and robotic? His reactions are muted, yeah, but they're totally there. And there's nothing quite like Hitman: Absolution and 47 in a Hawaiian robe with a pineapple tiki drink. Or even the new movie-god he emotes all over the place in that movie. Never seen any version of him so exasperated before and it was glorious. This sounds like: I read the inital pre-final concept notes and decided to write THAT. Jeeze.
Petition to make this horrific retcon an official AU so I can bask in the glory days of Silent Assassin.
Anyone? Please?
Someone save my faves.
If it was Providence behind Ort-Meyer... then what about the French Foreign Legion? Is the entire f*cking LOGO of the series completely meaningless now? (Since the Hitman logo is a modified fleur-de-lis that 47 "inherited" from Ort-Meyer)
The other four fathers haven’t been mentioned yet, so either they’re “subtly” being written out, or they will remain as OM’s buddies who wanted him to harvest organs for them in exchange for cash, while making a super soldier.
It would have been much better to introduce Providence as a source of anonymous funds for the fathers, and they could then pull strings from the background - which is exactly what Providence is supposed to be. They’re supposed to be kingmakers, manipulating politics and people from afar in the guise of others. For them to be directly involved is dumb here because not only does it remove OM’s true purpose, but it would also be impossible for Providence to remain a myth to the likes of the ICA if they acted so openly.
I must say, I really do love that you’re all screaming about this comic with me.
<3 to you all
