How do you feel about the way the narrative has handled Hive Ghosts? I feel like the lack of in game dialogue from them, especially when you’re crushing them, kinda neuters how you’re destroying what is both a very limited (in terms of numbers) species/construct/entity and also a creation/product of the Traveler.
I touched on it a little bit in the reply to this post. I do enjoy also what we've gotten from Lucent Tales lore book and everything from Fynch; I think it all dives into some interesting territory about Hive Ghosts and how they feel and why they broke away from humanity. To me, it's about choice; Hive Ghosts chose this so there's really not much for us to do when they choose to ally with those that want to kill us.
Kinda similar to how we treated Warlords (and their Ghosts, generally); all of those are creations of the Traveler, but ultimately not everything the Traveler creates is inherently good. That's kinda the whole point actually; the Traveler and the Light do not inherently signify good morals because the Traveler represents the philosophy of choice, including the choice to do bad things. If we don't have that choice, if people are forced to be a certain way because some higher power told them or they're afraid of if, then is it really good in the first place? People (and Ghosts) have to be free to make those choices, even if they're wrong ones.
With that said, I would desperately want to know more. I need more stories about the Lucent Hive in general, and their development, and their Ghosts, and how it all works and why, especially now with the changes brought by how we deal with Savathun and also with Luzaku being so unique. I need to know more. The Lucent Hive are probably the most influential change to the setting that hasn't been given enough focus.
