AU where Hyde grow up secretly loving a series of books for children called Amazing Jackie about a golden girl that had everything and was perfect.
Flashforward to his adult life, a new book of the series gets out, this time about Jackie’s perfect adult life. By destiny or by luck, he ends up meeting the real Jackie, a woman that is nothing like the character her mother created out of her insolated and controlled childhood.
The reality of just how lonely, sad and traumatized by the way her parents used her for money and fame, makes her way too similar to Hyde. Reallity has never been so cruel.
Sex and the City but instead of four girls is Jackie, Fez and Donna XD
LMAO, make it four with Brooke because I love writing her (and Kelso). Now, do you realize this is about the movie, right? The one when Mr. Big left Carrie at the altar? That one. Prepare for angst and suffering.
After years of struggling and dating some other asses, Jackie has finally got her happy day to day with Hyde, her own and only Mr. Big, who never wanted something serious until things just turned that way between him and Jackie.
Living together and enjoying life together is one of the best things he has done at the moment. Is amazing how their lives just collided with her best friend, Donna, marrying his best friend, Eric; how the four of them also ended being friends with her ex, that then married one of her best friends and now have a kid, and Fez turned out to be a great dude to spend time with. All is fine, settle, he never thought he would be this happy in a relationship and sure that he wants her forever in his life.
So when she brings the marriage theme, he is ready to say he wants that too. She is surpised but doesn’t act on it, only smiles and waits for him to do the next step. They start planning a simple wedding with only their friends, and no party or big dresses or any of that. She already has idea of what to wear for it, and while her friends aren’t as happy as her, they respect that she has changed her mind about having a big white wedding.
This is Steven, alright, Mr. Big.
It costed them enogh to be together to now ruin it with her desires of cliché romance and whatnot. Yet, slowly, he starts letting her do whatever circus she wants of that wedding. By the time the media knows Jackie Burkhart, everyone’s favorite fashion and make up blogger, co-creator of the blog and now magazine, ‘Sex and the City’, is finally getting married, she gets invited by Vougue to pose in their bride’s edition.
Of course she has to be there! And Hyde seems a little uncomfortable with how big things are getting and how he can’t bring himself to just stop her for a second and ask what is going on, why suddenly he isn’t allowed to say his opinion on things and when did this become only about her desires? He understands, this is every woman’s especial day, but is also his. Yet, he stays quiet and tries to just be happy is happening and his girl is this happy.
Meanwhile, tragedy comes to The Formans’ home. Eric and Donna’s sexual life is in crisis and with Donna working hard and all the damn time, Eric is starting to feel inadequate there. They have a little kid, and he basically takes care of him by himself since Donna’s boss is a bitch and she ony has time to work, work, work.
On a drunken night, he almost makes a mistake and when he tries to tell Donna, she interpretates it as she wants and doesn’t believe in his words when he explains it didn’t happen, but he did flirt with the girl and made out with her.
Hurt, she decides that they need time as he apologizes in all the ways he can find. When she takes this in her hands and doesn’t listen to him, Eric gets furious and decides he has had enough, making the sepration not a simple break, but an actual attempt to get a divorce.
Hyde and Kelso get to calm him down a little, but they remind separated as the wedding gets closer and closer.
Fez, on the other hand, has had a relationship with the same guy for years. He is still our pervy guy, he still looks and does bad comments, but his boy loves him anyway. Yet, lately, he has felt like if something is missing in his life and when a hot neighbor moves to the house nex to theirs, he discovers that he isn’t happy anymore in a relationship but can’t admit it. Not to him, not to the girls, not to anyone.
He will try to mantain his relationship the best he can. Because he does loves this guy, is just… maybe he isn’t made to be in long relationships, maybe it’s time for other things too.
By the time reharsal party is here, Donna is over the edge with her marriage situation and needs a break. Hyde ends up trying to reach her but she snaps back, “Why are you getting married!? It’s the biggest mistake of your life!” and damn.
She seriously needs a break, and Hyde needs to talk to Jackie. They are sleeping in different places for the night, and when he calls to say goodnight and tries to talk to her, she’s too blind by her extremadely big and public wedding to notice Hyde’s attempt at real talking.
Next morning, The Kelso’s home is a mess with the girls getting ready and Betsy running from side to side since her dad is at Hyde’s with the boys. Fez cames to style everyone and Jackie leaves her phone forgotten somewhere when Betsy picks it and shoves it into her purse. Once everyone is ready, and the boys had called to say they are also ready, they go to the wedding.
When Jackie and her friends arrive, Fez is there looking pale and ill.
Jackie doesn’t need to listen to him to know what is going on, she asks for her phone before he can tell them that Hyde hasn’t arrived. In short, he doesn’t show up and she needs to leave this fucking place before she burst into hysterical crying.
They find Jackie’s phone and the million calls Hyde did before the mess and after the scene in the street (you know the one), but it doesn’t matter anymore. She is a mess, she can’t believe this happened after all they’ve been throught.
None of the boys also know what to say or to do, and Eric gets out of everyting and tries to see what the hell with Hyde. Fez tries to cancel the honey moon, but seeing is imposible, he decides to buy tickets for the girls and go with them into said travel.
With Kelso staying home with Betsy and Eric with Hyde and Eric’s kid, they leave.
I read what you and jackieburkharrt said about Jackie being a sugar mommy and I lughed so much xDDD. Imagine an AU where she lowkey is one lol.
LMAO. You know, this is kinda personal because one of my best friends in the world is a sugar babe and they have shared a lot about that world with me. Honestly, I’m passt judging the thing and I showed them this message, they liked the idea and allowed me to do this.
So bear with me, this is going to be a long and strange ride; Modern AU:
After her last disaster of a relationship, Jackie wants to try something normal so she calls her only non-sugar mommy friend aka Donna and asks for, din din din, advice. At first, Donna enjoys the glorious moment and then gets serious because “I’m so glad you want something more healthy” and she just tells her to try date someone without wanting to control their life.
Which doesn’t mean: go date the guy living in front of Fez’s apartment who always picks up his mail and newspaper shirtless and on his undies like in some kind of porn. But there she goes and talks to him more than “good morning” once she goes to see her stylist friend.
‘Hot shirtless neighboor’ is nothing like the standar guys she gets for her kind of addictive dynamic, after talking to Fez about the thing, he agrees to invite him over for beers and pizza “like normal people do, Jackie. No, you can’t pay for the pizza, sit down”.
Of course this is Hyde, “don’t call me by my first name, thank you very much”, who can’t stand Jackie. Too snob for him, too loud, too fancy. But damn if she is hot and he is only human, more important: he has a dick that likes chicks. Fez eyes him like a mad men without knowing that Jackie thinks exactly the same: he is gross, he is a jerk, he needs new clothes, but goddamit he has it.
And hey, she wasn’t supposed to have casual things now but here she is making out with ‘hot shirtless neighboor’, what’s up?
Next day at night, she appears at his door asking for a date and after saying she will pay for dinner and end up buying him boots too, Jackie is back where she was supposed to not be. Donna yells at her on the phone for a while.
Hyde doesn’t know what the fuck is happening, she annoys the fuck out of him but their bed relationship is really good. Like really good. And he likes getting laid. But not being spoiled as she calls the horrible wave of gifts she sends his way. He doesn’t need clothes, he doesn’t need shoes, cologne, lotions, and stupid pillows and what the hell is happening?
She kinda freaks out when he puts a stop to their “you annoy the shit out of me but I’m gonna fuck you like there is no tomorrow because we have too much chemistry to ignore it” kind of relationship, then realizes is for the gifts so she confesses. And Hyde looks at her, up and down, down and up, and ask in a very low tone “what… what is that?” “uh?” “what is a sugar mommy” and lmao, he shouldn’t have asked.
Whatever it was what they had, it’s officially over after the explanation. And he is NOT thinking about her at all, he just misses the sex, so “stop looking at me like that, Forman”. Thank god, his adoptive brother is getting married soon and he will be too distracted to think abut the little brunette.
Untill they find themselves right in front of the other during the little party Mrs. Forman did to celebrate her son’s engagement. Which is super funny because Donna was excited to introduce them since her friend wanted to do normal for once and oh man, this is so not happening to him. “WHAT A COINCIDENCE!”, Eric yells with all the sarcasm in his black, death, incredible happy right now, soul and Hyde just– stares.
(Of course Eric knew Hyde was talking about Donna’s Jackie since the first time he mentioned her, but knowing what his fiancée wanted to do, decided not to say a shit because this was going to be so funny).
“Is that the armani I bought you?”, Jackie notices his shirt, and his shoes that she bought too, and the freaking tie. Hyde is not going to survive this one, she spends the afternoon reminding him he totally looks like hers. At the end, he asks her if he can drop by her place because she is having all the crap she gave him back. All of it.
But they end up having unresolved bussines on her couch. He keeps some of the things she gave him and she just put the rest on her closet where she can’t see it or something, while they keep seeing each other now that Donna has give her bride’s maid job and she goes with her and Eric to all things wedding related and poor Hyde gets dragged by his brother to it too.
Shipper Donna strikes back by giving them wedding work as bestman and bridesmaid, and they hate her so much at the moment but put their major will power to do her tasks because they both love their friends. So they tolerate each other. If they end up doing things that aren’t related to the Forman-Pinciatti wedding, well…
At some point, Eric starts poiting out to Hyde that he is acting weird. “You really like her, don’t you?” and he says no to everything.
But Hyde knows it’s true and he kinda hates himself a little bit, because WHEN DID THIS HAPPENED and WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO HIM.
The second he accepts to himself this, he can’t stop looking at Jackie and thinking if something could work between them. But he knows he is the undatable and she has A PROBLEM.
And as the wedding is getting closer, Jackie is sure she can’t keep ignoring the fact that she loves spending time with Hyde (and that she hasn’t buy a single thing in all these weeks)
So.
What will happen with them? Are they gonna make it? Only God knows.
I don't know if you have seen the movie Friends with Benefits with Mila and Justin Timberlake? Well, every time I watch it, I imagine Hyde and Jackie in that situation in a modern AU and then giggle all afternoon like an idiot.
I will never unsee this now, and I watch that movie a lot. But look, in a way, that’s how their physical relationship kind of started: they were kind of like fuck buddies in a way, lol. There must be an AU out there with this idea, so if someone knows it, please send me the link to that, I want to laugh my ass off.
Because obviously Jackie will persuade for an actual relationship, she would demand it, and he will stand with the idea of being only friends who fuck because that’s easier, without realizing he doesn’t like the idea of her dating aside their little stuff going, that there is no way he will be able to go during the day without wondering if he is gonna see her that day an that the best part of his week is staying with her, even when they don’t do the do, like they just watch tv/movies together and play chest, and are there for the other. Like they actually do have a relationship, but he ignores it the best he can until she says she wants to start dating, so… yeah.
And he low key hopes she meets with only assholes, but also doesn’t want her to be sad and he also fears she will find someone appropiate and their ‘friendship’ will be over and that’s when he just accepts this isn’ about sex anymore, maybe it hasn’t been since the beggining. But come on, would he be really able to speak his mind and heart out? Probably no, but if I keep thinking about it, I will end up writing an AU myself.
Like both of them living in the big city and she goes with him to Point Place during some family reunion time because her mother, again, left her hanging on her promise to see her, and everyone at Hyde’s (aka his adoptive family, the Formans) think he FINALLY is in a relationship and are all excited (well, Kitty is and Eric is happy to bother him, and so is Laurie, and Red just rolls his eyes at everyone), and Jackie is excited too because her family situation is a mess and this is an actual family, and Hyde understands it perfectly, and just imagine all the awkward moments with “yeah, we are not together…” and Kitty with her knowing smiles and nods, like “yeah… Red, get the saving for Steve’s wedding ready” and Red just like “Yeah, but we are not paying her ridiculous ideas!”. Oh god, I love it all.
Hyde doesn't take Jackie because he wants her to be his wife like in the myth but instead he does it to mess with Zeus because he's always had problems with authority and hyde never liked Jack burkhart. Unfortunately for him the girl he took is so freaking annoying if she would only shut up she might be cute. And then she eats the goddamn seeds and he's stuck with her for half the year
LMAO. So, like–
Jackie would be so upset with the Underworld because It all looks so grimmy and sad, and she thinks it needs color. I can only imagine that Hyde’s, like, servants or something, are actually quit happy having Jackie around because their Master is such a dick and so boring when it comes to how things are managed down there.
And she touches everything and keeps asking what does this and what does that, IS THAT A SOUL, IS THAT SOUL GOOD, IS THAT ONE NOT, and Hyde is faster rather than slowly getting fucking tired of her but if he returns her so easily, he won’t be making his point.
But enough is enough, and it’s time for her to go back to her asshole father and crazy mother, and he finds her eating the seeds and he just stares at her in awe and his servents like “oooops, go figure, she will have to stay”.
Jack listens to the whole story, and he just sort of, like, “yOU KNOW WHAT, YOU TWO” because what Hyde wasn’t so aware of was the fact that Jackie sort of went along with the whole “kidnapping” thing on purpose because she is damn curious and tired of her mom.
I’m picturing Jackie as Hades, Hyde as Persephone. Who else but Jackie could reign peacefully over hell?
Hyde. Hyde could. Because he is calm. His… darker feelings are only for himself. He doesn’t explode, nor has violent outbrusts like Jackie often does.
Mythology calls Persephone the bringer of chaos, and people fear her for being the Hade’s equal and Queen. He was raised as this holy maiden that was supposed to be pure and good, but she just… broke all the social rules she was given and became her own person apart from her mother.
She also had a loving, yet controlling and jealous, mother. Pam Burkhart is in season 1 a better mother than in season 6, that’s why I was thinking of her as Demeter. Beautiful like in season 6, thinks high of herlsef, but is still a better mother, trying to bring back her daughter, even when she doesn’t want to.
Jackie yells, commands, demmands and makes chaos were she gets because her presense is so full of light and life, like Persephone’s is. She brings spring and leaves winter in her absense.
She brings what Hyde has never known in the Underowld, were light never comes and were he has been deny love and loyalty. The chaos she brings in welcomed because it’s good, it gives him something he always wanted, that he deserves, and that makes him be better just as it makes her be better, and gives her freedom.
I don’t see Hades, calm and filled with sorrow, watching over those mortals who have lose their lives, being cheerful, full of life and laugh Jackie. Not at all.
I don’t see Persephone, full of love and desire for freedom, slowly understanding the world around her, in quit, cynical, closed as hell Hyde.
Most times, I like the idea of the inverse roles, but this is not the case.
Happy birthday so Genderbent HYde and Jackie Hades/Persephone Au please ? Because I love Stephanie Hyde Goddess of the Underworld and her wife Jackie !
LOL, thank you.
So, I don’t think much would change in that AU? I mean– the characters are the same. Jackie would not listen to her mother and do as she wishes, she would prefer to stay in the Underworld with her wife than to live in a world were the warmth around her doesn’t fill her the way it does when she is in Steph’s arms.
As always, she knows no cold, not really. But she imagines it must be like when she in her room, alone at night, back in Earth. Jackie imagines is like when she is listening to the other entities down and misunderstand her and Stephanie’s relationship, and when she has to smile to others when she wants to cry, or when Kelso tries to flirt with her and she just feels disgust.
It’s a party when she goes down, everything lives when she touches the Underground again and she has the best months with her wife, and every year, she doesn’t want to go.
