I've not met Nyleth ingame so I've had to base her off the one I've seen from Pharloomblr hence she could be seriously out of character as a result but this is more joke art than anything meant to be canon anyway

First doodle of 2026: Our gals~! I love these fights so much even if I haven't defeated Karmelita yet shhhh.

Hopefully at some point I can get to the other two hearts, but we'll see if my brain cooperates, lol. Until then, enjoy these lovely ladies~!

Do we know what Nyleth is?

She doesn't looks like a living being but doesn't seems to be a higher being either (at least from what i understand?)

She's called "ancient heart of Shellwood", is a part of ancient hearts quest and is described as someone who's connected to its living beings so this creature didn't appeared after GMS was imprisoned.

We know that the Citadel made a reluctant deal with her which was mentioned by snail shamans but i don't get why GMS didn't cared about her existence previously.

I would assume that she is a Higher Being (though on the less powerful end), as she magicked & 'ruled' the entire forest. (kind of similar to Unn)

GMS was around in person for the conquest of Karak and the beginning of the conflict with the Skarr (who held out a long, long time) - they know what she looks like & have presumably seen her personally taking part in the conquests. ("curse the creature pale!", "just us, alone against the pale light")

Other groups (Pinstresses, Shamans, Verdania etc.) describe the enemy they dealt with as "the citadel", suggesting she was already sealed/locked up then. (though it doesn't seem like she was ever fully neutralized) Verdania is the most recent conquest & took place in the era of the Haunting (we hear something about Verdania being "fallen to thread")

The accord with Nyleth I would place in the era of the Weaver's rule as Weavers were set up to watch over the pilgrims passing through etc. it's possible that the citadel faction going back on the deal didn't happen until the Conductor's rule and/or after GMS was back in charge, maybe it was sort of a gradual erosion where over the years they cut down/disturbed more & more of the wood.

The conquests didn't all happen at the same time but probably gradually, & probably spreading out from the top to the map to the bottom, with some exceptions - I'd assume that much of where the Deep Docks are now used to be Skarr territory too, they got that for mining
