" we were visitin' the north to see iorek a year or so after danny was born. we had some business up there and iorek wanted t' meet his nephew -- well, he didn't call 'im that, but lets be honest. anyway, we stayed with the bears a few days. they were polite about our stayin', but we stayed out of the way. "

he smiles fondly.

" iorek don' do well with emotions, but he's got this way about him whenever danny was around. spent a lot of time on his belly, at danny's height, y'know. one night, i came back from bein' away a few days to find both danny and marie all snuggled up, nice an' cozy in iorek's fur. i didn't have the heart t' wake 'em t' let 'em know i was home. they just looked so...at peace. Bruce really wished that he could say that his patrols were quiet these days. He had Casey in his ear, which helped, and he was also grateful for the reassurance that she was with Riona and the twins if something happened, but between Red Hood and the activity he'd been tracking the last couple of nights, things were not quiet.

"Hey, two blocks up, B. I'm not getting anything specific, but you should take a look."

"Thanks, Oracle," he replied.

Two blocks up, there was a fight happening, and Bruce was about to step in before he saw that at least one of them appeared to be metahuman in nature.

"Need some help?" he called as he swung in closer.

Okay.

He'd fallen through roofs before.

It hurt. Hurt a lot. More accurately he'd been - thrown through roofs. And the whole brick and concrete breaking - usually his ribs too - that was bad. But it was nothing, nothing to this - having been thrown through a glass roof onto what he was pretty sure was marble.

"Talk about - breaking through the glass ceiling." he coughed, trying to push up to his feet, but waves of agony were making it hard. Still - still - spider-man always gets up - he coughed again, feeling the lacerations all over his body, forcing himself to his feet.

“you’re a superhero, i think! that’s why you sneak away all the time, right? you have superpowers, just like me!” to bubbles, that seemed to be the only logical explanation to why he disappeared all the time. she was so confident in her answer, she didn’t think that she could be wrong at all.

"-I'm not sure how big of a fan you are of soups, but I just made a big batch for the clinic in general, so I figured you might want some."

A bowl is held out towards him, not overstepping into his space but close enough that he can easily take the bowl from her if he decides to. "It's some tomato soup with some seasonings in it."
