❝ holding hands ❞ ⇢ mark & sojin
there hadn't been anyone in her entire department that she was worried about — until mark sauntered into headquarters one day with a background that didn't compare to any others. sojin still remembers staying in her office even after her shift to thoroughly read through his personal story and the possible meaning behind the power that he was blessed with. it was, indeed, childish to believe that each individual powers had a meaning behind it, but she knew from the bottom of her heart that every ability had a purpose and use in the world they lived in. for mark, who had yet to find the reason behind it, he was greatly suffering through the past events and couldn't find a way to move on. hence, it was her personal goal to slowly get him across the bridge of fate. perhaps, the military routine was going to shed some light upon him and help him take a step toward realization. dressed in her usual uniformed attire, sojin walked down the corridor with an unlit cigarette between her fingers, attempting to not tempt herself into the horrendous habit after finding out her physical condition (it was either the smoking or her age). she pushed the door opened and sauntered into the familiar training grounds with ease. her lips were slightly curved into a smile, emphasizing the mood she was in. upon noticing that, the atmosphere lifted to a certain degree as she actually greeted everyone gathered for routine exercise. "don't let me hold you up," she announced, waving her hand to urge them to continue. her eyes searched through crowd, trying to pinpoint a certain individual — "ah." the grin plastered across her face grew wider when she found the whereabouts of the boy she kept close eyes on. maybe it was her eyes playing tricks on her again, but he didn't look too bad and that always relieved her in more than one way. "mark," sojin called, walking over to him before swinging her arms around the younger boy to pull him down into a tight hug, the effects of his ability long tucked away into the bottom pit of her brain. she was getting looks — she was never like this at work, but exceptions had to be made. "you and i are going out today."
