Yor had spent the better part of her life in the shadows, each move to ensure the successful elimination of her target. It had never occurred to her that she would find herself in a relationship, and what initially started as a move of self-preservation had slowly turned into something else. A family. And she had become the dutiful wife and mother. Truthfully, she nevered expected that this day would come, the day in which the lie she was in was further sold — sealed with a kiss. She knew that she could only stand there for so long, hesitation and embarrassment burning her cheeks. While her initial reaction to get out of this was to kill the man goading them on she knew it would break her careful. While she was certainly not good at cooking, or lying for that matter, she was good at violence, however, she could not allow such inclinations to override her.
❝ Loid-san — ❞ She remarked softly before standing on her tiptoes and placing a soft and gentle kiss on his lips. Her cheeks flushing more as her feet returned to the ground and her hand reached out and grabbed onto his, dragging him along behind her (forgetting her own strength) ❝ We're going to be late for picking up Anya-san, excuse us! ❞ She exclaimed hurriedly, weaving in between people before finally stopping and letting go of his hand. It wasn't long before she turned to face him, hands anxiously being wrung in front of her.
At first, she doesn't speak as she tries to find the proper words to express her emotions. A furrowed brow creased her usual prestine festures. ❝ I—I'm sorry Loid-san he just wasnt stopping and there was a crowd! Please forgive me. ❞ Her words were accompanied by a slight bow, unconcerned that to on lookers her hurried outburst might come across as unusual.
Deflecting the situation in an elegant manner didn't seem to work, but Loid was determined to stand his ground for as long as he could without either manhandling Yor out of that perimeter, or through risking causing a scene by knocking the man out cold. The latter would be a headache to deal with... but, should he be audited by the secret police, he would have enough witnesses as his alibi. Yuri should either kiss his ass or put his own foot in his mouth. He can't incriminate him for protecting his sister!
But just as his fist began to tighten from anticipation alone (and to keep himself in check - he could feel his arm shaking from the temptation to harm), he snapped out of his reverie at his wife's call and saw her face lift in inches until his vision all but blurred from her sudden proximity.
His eyes widened! The warm pressure on his lips belonged to none other than the shape of her pursed mouth fitting so snug against him that it completely threw his heartbeat off. Her face was so close, her searing body temperature nearly smothered him in her perfume.
His mind didn't have time to register the kiss and return it like any devoted husband would before she had completely removed herself from him, muttering something about... what? Acai berries? Where was his mind taking him?! They're supposed to go pick Anya fr- "H-hey!!" He nearly stumbled upon getting pulled, completely disintegrating his train of thoughts together with the tracks as he let himself get dragged behind her.
At least those thugs weren't following them anymore. A quick glance behind confirmed it... good job, Yor! Although, he would've wanted a warning or an indication that she wanted to go the proof route, he was still happy enough to have gotten out of there as victorious victims rather than as the guilty until proven innocent. He had a hunch, from her observed silence upon relishing in his release from her tight cuff, that she shared the sentiment.
Pain throbbed in his wrist, calling his attention. That reconfirmed the fact that she was extremely strong. If he showed that he was rubbing it, would that upset her?
"I understand," he gave her his most reassuring smile with the lightest tilt of the head. "I suppose we needed to scratch that off our bucket list, but it's unfortunate that it had to happen at such an inconvenient time. We probably wouldn't have been able to get out quietly otherwise, so... good thinking, Miss Yor! It has definitely saved us a lot of unwanted attention."
