Last night at 6.30 Pm I heard the devastating news that our beloved monarch had passed away,like many in our nation i wept for a much loved figure in our lives I was going to post soon but as a mark of respect for 12 days I will not. I would like to tell you all my personal touch with HMTQ Elizabeth 11.

Your Majesty, i was a little girl when you came to our town. 2 rows back I was crying because I couldn’t see and found it all overwhelming. You came down our side clad in pink with a pink hat when you spotted this scraggy little girl crying desperate to get just a look.I remember with a look of concern you asked the people in front to move just a little so you could shake my hand,with tears streaming and a snotty smile I took your gloved hand and you said “ there see that’s better isn’t it”such a profound moment that has stayed with me.I will never forget you! God will never forget you.

Day 17 of @defendingtheduchesses 's Meghan memories challenge.

Think what you want about the Queen, but this must have been a huge moment for Meghan. A solo away day with Harry's Grandmother, the longest reigning Monarch in history, with the World watching - a nasty portion of it hoping you'd do something wrong or look stupid or that the Queen secretly hates you.

And it went so well. Meghan looked gorgeous - if a tiny bit hesitant at times. She meeted and greeted and waved and followed her Majesty's lead; and honestly? It looked like they both enjoyed their trip out. This day just felt significant at the time I mean I wish it had been repeated more as a visible sign of support but y'know so I had to include it as one of my 39 chosen memories of Meghan.

Tiara Tuesday with what is probably one of My favourite Diadems Ever! Belonging to The Grandest of Grand Duchesses, The Grand Duchess Vladimir. Who commissioned it at the court jeweler Bolin around the time of her wedding with the Grand Duke. It can be worn with pearls, with emeralds or 'widowed'. I like all three quite frankly. Naturally made in the wildly popular Russian style which was (and continues to be) all the rigueur! Grand Duchess Vladimir was the last to leave Russia at the time of the revolution. She left in style, in her own train.
