Day 1: fluff & humour
---
Hitoshi steepled his hands together and tapped them against his chin as he stared at the scene before him. He’d known his boyfriend was a bit clumsy. Has been told stories of how Midoriya would trip over nothing, seen on a few occasions himself. And it never fails to make him laugh.
So, when he gets a message from his boyfriend asking for help, Hitoshi can only imagine what Izuku had gotten himself into. And the sight is far better than what he could come up with.
He bit his lip to stop himself from laughing, but it was hard when Izuku was lying on the floor tangled up in Christmas lights. Lights that were blinking every few seconds.
“You promised you wouldn’t laugh,” Izuku said, pouting.
“Yeah, that was before I walked into your room,” Hitoshi said, letting out a little chuckle. He quickly covered it in a cough but he wasn’t fooling anyone, given the glare his boyfriend was giving him. “Why? Just, why?”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Izuku said, trying his best to turn his head away. Hitoshi raised an eyebrow in amusement, as he watched Izuku struggle. Chuckling, Hitoshi got out his phone and took a few pictures.
At the sound of the camera going off, Izuku whipped his head around and glared. “Delete it.”
“Mm, no don’t think I will,” Hitoshi said with a smirk. Izuku’s glare only hardened but there was no heat in it.
Grinning at Izuku, Hitoshi took one more picture, sent it to some of their friends, before finally pocketing his phone. He made his way over to his boyfriend, crouching in front of him. Hitoshi picked up some of the lights, tugging it lightly.
"Please, humor me. How did this happen?"
Izuku turned away and grumbled incoherently, forcing Hitoshi to lean in.
"What was that?"
"I tripped…" Izuku spoke a little louder. "And when I tried to get up, I fell back down and now I can't get out."
"I think you would work just fine as a tree, we just need to add some ornaments."
"No. Hitoshi, I swear if you don't get me out-"
Hitoshi's laugh interrupted Izuku, and though he tried to hide behind a glare, Hitoshi did not miss the soft expression Izuku had.
"Don't worry,' Hitoshi promised, leaning more towards Izuku for a kiss. "I'll get you out."
Izuku was already rolling away before Hitoshi could get too close.
"Don't you dare. You get me out first and then you can kiss me."
Hitoshi pouted slightly before sighing in defeat. “Okay, fine I’ll help. But you would make a cute Christmas tree.”
“I hate you,” Izuku muttered just as Hitoshi started untangling the lights. He stopped and withdrew his hands, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Well if that’s how you feel, then I guess you’ll have to find someone else to help you,” Hitoshi said, trying to hide his smile.
“No. Hito, please! I’ve been stuck here forever. I’m so tired,” Izuku said in a panic, as Hitoshi slowly stood up. He cracked a smile at that, and crouched down again.
“You’re lucky I love you,” Hitoshi said, laughing when Izuku started grumbling.
In fear of Hitoshi leaving - though they both know that he wouldn’t - Izuku stayed quiet and watched Hitoshi work.
“Geez, you really tangled yourself here,” Hitoshi noted, tugging on the string of lights. “You’re like a cat.”
Izuku gaped at him in disbelief. “What do you mean by that? If anything, you’re the cat.”
“I resent that,” Hitoshi said.
Izuku stuck his tongue out at him. "That wasn't a denial though."
"Wha‐"
"Last night, when you fell asleep on the couch? You curled around yourself like a cat, it was so cute!"
Hitoshi flushed at this. "I- uh, no way. I don't remember falling asleep on the couch!"
"Yeah you did! I carried you to your room!" Izuku looked smug at this. "I took a picture."
Hitoshi stared at Izuku. "Delete it."
"Nope."
Hitoshi's eyes flitted around, until he found what he was looking for. Izuku's phone, still sitting snugly in his hands.
"Fine, I'll do it myself."
Izuku's eyes widened, and he was rolling away, Hitoshi lunging after him.
He tackled Izuku, making both go rolling and getting a loud "Hitoshi!" from his boyfriend. The two wrestled for a few minutes, sneaking in a few tickles, before suddenly they froze with realization.
Hitoshi was now lying on top of Izuku, tangled within the Christmas lights.
“Hi,” Hitoshi greeted after they both had processed what had happened. Izuku’s breath fanned his face when he laughed.
“Hello to you too,” Izuku said, and Hitoshi grinned. “Come here often?”
Hitoshi tried to shrug, but the lights dug into his shoulder and he winced. “I try, but my boyfriend sometimes makes that difficult for me.”
“Sounds like he doesn’t know what he has.”
“I'll make sure to tell him,” Hitoshi said, leaning down for a kiss. Izuku moved away, and Hitoshi groaned.
“Later, right now we need to get unstuck,” he said, looking around for his phone. When he couldn’t find it, he sighed. "You still have your phone on you, right?" Izuku asked. "I, uh, dropped mine."
"Yeah, it's still in my pocket." Hitoshi wiggled his arms, trying to reach for it, but to no avail. "Shit."
"Let me try." Izuku apparently had more room for his arms, because after a few minutes of struggling, he managed to reach Hitoshi's phone, only stopping to tickle him for a little bit. "I'll text Iida. He's the least likely to make fun of us for this."
"Don't text him right now," Hitoshi said, resting his head on the floor as best he could from his position. "I don't think I can handle the embarrassment."
If Izuku wasn't right about that, Hitoshi might have suggested someone else. He was just prolonging Izuku seeing a certain picture he took when he first walked in.
"No way. I've been here long enough."
Hitoshi stayed quiet. And he couldn't stop his smile when Izuku gasped. "Hitoshi!"
"What did he say?" Hitoshi asked.
"'L O L', followed by three crying laughing emojis."
"Did anyone else respond yet?"
"...Not yet." There was a pause followed by a groan, then a sigh of defeat. Hitoshi nudged him for an answer. “Uraraka said I look like a Christmas tree.”
“Ha! See, I told you.”
"Annnd Todoroki just sent a thumbs up emoji." Then Izuku sighed again. "Tsuyu just said, 'so, Shinsou, it's been a few minutes. Are you stuck too?'"
"You don't think she knows right? She's just joking?"
"It’s Tsuyu, you never know with her.” Izuku groaned and hit his head on the floor. “Sometimes I hate our friends.”
"Text Iida now, before one of them gets worried and catches us like this."
After a moment, Izuku locked Hitoshi's phone, setting it on the floor. "He'll be here in a minute."
That sat there for a second before Hitoshi smiled, leaning as best he could towards Izuku. "Sooo," he drew out the word. "I still didn't get that kiss and we do have a little bit of time."
"And you're still going to have to wait, because I said after you freed me."
Hitoshi pouted but didn't get the chance to respond before they could hear the door opening. They looked up just in time to see Iida taking a picture, followed up their own phones alerting them of a text.
"Iida no!"
Iida yes, Hitoshi could practically hear Uraraka say in the back of his head. He sighed at their fate whenever they saw their friends next.
“I’m sorry Midoriya-kun, but I promised to show Uraraka why it was taking so long,” Iida explained, pocketing his phone. “May I ask how you two become in such a predicament?”
“No,” Hitoshi said, “can you please just help. I’m starting to lose feeling in my arms.”
“Ah, yes. I suppose being tied up like that wouldn’t be comfortable,” Iida said, pushing his glasses up. He stepped further in the room and got to work. Within minutes, they were free.
“Thanks Iida,” Hitoshi said, shaking out his arms.
“It was no problem,” Iida said, stepping back towards the door. “Will you be joining us for a movie later?”
Hitoshi shrugged, he wasn’t quite sure. He did have plans with Izuku but it was up to him if they would.
“Don’t know, Iida-kun,” Izuku answered, stretching out his limbs. And if Hitoshi was checking out his boyfriend, well that no one’s business it his. “But we can let you know.”
“Ah, okay. We’ll be in the common area if you decide to join us,” Iida said, and left the two alone.
“We’re not going to watch a movie with them, are we?” Hitoshi asked, watching Izuku pick up his phone. He made a face as he read through the messages, and judging by that face, Hitoshi knew he didn’t have the mental capability to read them himself.
“Nope. Not unless you’re up for relentless teasing from everyone,” Izuku asked, locking his phone and gently tossing it on his desk.
“I am good,” Hitoshi said, picking up his phone and setting it aside without looking at it. “Want to watch a movie here?”
“Sure.” With that, Izuku set up his laptop as Hitoshi set up their little fort on Izuku’s bed. When everything was done, Hitoshi curled into Izuku’s side and felt him laugh once he was comfortable. “See, you’re totally a cat.”
Hitoshi hit him with a pillow as an answer, which only made Izuku laugh harder. “Shut up.”
