He got asked by a nervous Subaru to take care of you for a second after something went wrong and he went to look for a teacher.
The family shrine where he was raised held old scrolls made with rice paper that would attract rats so to combat that there were lots of cats roaming around to hunt them. Since he was a little kid he had a soft spot for them and now as an adult, even if they reminded him of his family, they are dear to him.
He accepts looking after you and smoothly grabs your hind legs against his body and your head and front paws peek at his shoulder. His family used to yell at him when he grabbed cats the wrong way and possibly hurt them. If it wasn't for muscle memory he would have grabbed you princess style on your back to tease you after but his reflex took over.
Honestly used you as an excuse to laze around. Zenji, quit it, don't you see you are hurting their ears? Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm not able to help right now, I'm looking after this specific cat, yes it has to be while I'm laying down on the floor.
Don't expect him to play much, as most will play with a laser or a feather but this is his excuse to laze around. He will take photos if you loaf in his belly and make biscuits with his clothes. Even Zenji will fawn over you.
When Subaru returns with Nicolas ready to turn you back Haku makes a point of holding you while the potion is poured on your head, suddenly causing a white mist to appear and now have him holding you up like a knight. If you ask him why he didn't hold you like a baby like before he will say that “guys like to hold the one they like like that”
100 percent will tease you for whatever you did as a cat. Why are you standing so far away? Just a day or two ago you were napping on my chest. Don't get shy about me feeding from my chopsticks, you ate so comfortably from my hand. Hey, you scarred my back badly, now it's really itchy (you were playing with him and accidentally scratched his side and back a bit). That last one is said in public where others can listen to embarrass you.
More thoughts on the PJO/Batman crossover (some suggested by @anastasian-dreamer)
Bruce and Jason carry around drachma after they learn about Percy being a demigod. They knew that Diana was one but she'd let people believe the gods faded. Knowing its not true have them doing this.
Dick also does though for a while he doesn't hang around them. He's to angry. However Sally ends up drawing him out of his anger. She is the only reason communication happens.
Jason still dies. He and Bruce are fighting and while he loves Sally he's curious about his birth mom. He tells Percy where he's going but that's it. Percy doesn't tell his mom until it's to late.
Percy blames himself for this and is so angry. Sally debates about sending him to camp early. But doesn't because she's worried about the propchey as Diana told them about it. She wants her son as safe as possible. This leads to Percy acting out bad. He is sent to the school he gets sent to in canon, where he meets Grover and Chiron.
When Charon is talking to Percy, Annabeth and Grover, he says “well at least the Gotham brats know how to pay properly.” As Jason is known to be dead it isn't hard to connect the dots.
I'm kind of torn with Tim Drake. I love him so much but I can also see him being incredibly insensitive to Percy cause Batman needs a Robin and he doesn't understand why Percy won't step up. It's a mess and it takes a while for Percy to get along with Tim after that. Doesn't help Percy has to go to camp.
Also the Minotaur and Sally bring kidnapped by Hades still happens.
I just saw it's your b-day so I wanted to wish you a hbd: Happy Birthday!! I hope this year is the best one for you so far!!
As for the gifs... I didn't originally intend to ask anything bc I had no idea what to ask for but, if you can, just anything with pretty lights. Just pretty lighting.
