Rey and Ben are not fully themselves until they have given themselves to each other

That’s what let’s them reach maturity. Rey’s got to stop holding back and give herself with no reserves and Ben does the exact same and THEN and ONLY then, BECAUSE of that they are ABLE TO GROW UP AND BE ADULTS because only then they have they become FULLY HUMAN. IN THAT MOMENT OF GIVING THEMSELVES TO EACH OTHER THEY HAVE FINISHED BECOMING AND HAVE BECOME.
