Today is our Last Day in our brief 4 day trip to #newzealand we had a great time visiting #aukland and #rotorua and of course #hobiton. @jasmineworthtattoos and I will be heading to #Tahiti tonight to visit my sister in #BoraBora with a brief stop in #Papeete. Here are some fun photos of our trip. We visited a few Maori cultural sites and of course Hobiton. A bit of brief information about my family history and some Polynesian history. My mother is Tahitian. This is the island that the native Hawaiians and Maori come from. So when you visit these places you get to see a culture of people related to to Tahitian ancestors that traveled on small sailing ships to populate these islands long before Europe had any idea they existed. They share similar culture and many similar roots in their language. I have been fortunate to visit Hawaii 3 times and all of my life wanted to visit Tahiti to see where my mother came from. My brother was born there 41 years ago and my sister has lived there most of her life. For my 40th birthday this year Jasmine and I decided it was time to go see Tahiti and with New Zealand being Relatively close we couldn't resist stopping there too. Anyhow I am pretty excited to see Tahiti, visit my sister and meet my Nephews.
