Staying in a hobbit hole in the woods this week, and let me tell you, it’s so dang cute I may never leave!

Some interesting facts about Bilbo & hobbits that I found from the first ten pages of The Hobbit
Bilbo is very fond of flowers.
He did not remember things very well, unless he wrote it down like this: Gandalf Tea Wednesday.
"(He had whole rooms devoted to clothes)"
"You could tell what a Baggins would say on any question without the bother of asking him," but Bilbo in particular found himself doing and saying things altogether unexpected.
Bilbo's grandfather, the Old Took, was the head of the hobbits.
Gandalf and Bilbo's grandfather were good friends, but Gandalf had not visited the hobbits for ages since his friend the Old Took died, which is why the hobbits couldn't immediately recognise him when he returned, since they were all small hobbit-boys and hobbit-girls when he went away.
The best rooms in Bilbo's hobbit-hole were all on the left-hand side, since these were the only ones to have windows, deep-set round windows looking over his garden.
Tooks were not as respectable as the Bagginses, but they were undoubtedly richer.
Bungo Baggins, that was Bilbo's father, built the most luxurious hobbit-hole for his wife Belladonna Took (and partly with her money), which Bilbo, her only son, inherited.
Although Bilbo looks and behaved exactly like a second edition of his solid and comfortable father, he still got something a bit queer in his make-up from the Took side.
Hobbits have no beards.
They have little to no magic, except the everyday sort that helps them to disappear quickly when large stupid folk (humans) come blundering along, making a noise like elephants which they can hear a mile off.
Hobbits are inclined to be fat in the stomach.
They dress in bright colours (chiefly green and yellow).
