forever alone :( i'm the "vegetarian" of the bunch. you know that girl that has to make life difficult when eating out in a group, yep thats me. haha although i have introduced my boy to eating vegetarian food and he does enjoy it and is more open to it which is good.

haha i'm that girl too! yeah but my boyfriend and i, when we first started dating for like our fifth date or something we went to a vegan restaurant in this artsy part of town and he ate a tofu blt sandwhich and told me it was good and he actually really liked it... then when we were dating for like a year and a half he finally told me the truth that he thought it was gross and just wanted to impress me haha. at least he was sweet about it lol

aha yes kindred spirits. i like that! yeah i kind of try to accept him also and we've tried to make comprises and such but long term i don't think i can make him stay veg willingly on his own but more for me :( i've actually thought about if we we're to one day have kids and such. do you think you would raise you children vegetarian/vegan? i've always liked the idea of teaching my kids the cruelty and injustice these animals suffer but since we both have meat eater boyfriends. i'm not sure.

yeah my boyfriend and i are pretty long-term, but he's so set in his ways that he'd never try giving up meat, so raising kids to be meat and dairy free would be tough and he probably wouldn't be willing to do that :/ i certainly wouldn't give up my veganism and i would just try to teach my kids about the injustice but ultimately let them make their own decisions. i think that veganism/vegetarianism is more meaningful when the person chooses it for themselves, anyway. (i really don't want kids but thats a whole different can of worms lol.) but yeah i think that raising a family with one meat-eater parent and one non-meat eater would be a little bit difficult, but i think that it could work. if anything, even if the kids didn't choose to go vegan, maybe at least they'd be more open minded about it?

are other members of your family/friends vegetarians too? or are you like me and all alone lol?

go vegan power! i'm vegetarian and i find i can relate to what you said about it being hard as my boyfriend is a major meat eater and i do feel really uncomfortable at times watching him eat meat and the fact he tells me he can never give it up because he likes it too much.. it's kind of like a stab to the heart. how do you deal with it? sometimes i just wish i could make everyone know all the facts and see this meat free lifestyle the way i do.

oh gosh i totally know what you mean. he acts like meat is the holy grail or something and it does make me sad, like i wish he could understand how awful the meat and dairy industries are. the world would be so much better if we could just tell everyone how good being meat-free is, ya know?

i really deal with it by not... dealing with it... which sucks. but i've found that the only people who are really going to listen to you are those who approach you about veganism, not the other way around. i could try to pound facts into his brain but it wouldn't do any good since he loves meat so much. so i just try to stick to my principles and not judge him based on his choices. i've asked that he respects my veganism, and thats about all we can do.

i've never talked to another vegan/vegetarian with a meat-eater boyfriend! i feel like we're kindred spirits lol. if you ever need to vent or anything, i'm here :)
