"But Narrator, doesn't that ruin your entire timeline?" It sure does! :)
i’ve been working on writing more in my spare time but i wanted someone to read it so here’s what i have so far if anyone wants it???
“Welcome to Hochion, please step through the scanner before proceeding onto the launch pad.” An almost.. inhuman voice speaks through an intercom on the wall. Vimsy was fascinated by the technology scattered about the welcoming station, as the crew had no idea what to expect when departing from their planet. The entire crew was encased in frozen liquid for the duration of the trip, and it had been quite awhile. Approximately eight hundred and forty three light spins, to be exact, or at least that was what was marked down on Vimsy’s pod.
The adolescent hesitantly stepped through the scanner, realizing it was probably something along the lines of a..danger detector, for lack of a better term. They blinked a few times as the scanner started beeping rapidly, immediately stumbling backwards as their hands shot up above their head. Vimsy wasn’t very tall for their species - a measly 4'2" in height - but it didn’t stop them from doing much. They let out a small shriek as they looked around, a mechanical arm quickly reaching out of the wall and clamping around the poor teen’s waist.
“Welcome to Hochion! The scanner is appearing to be making repetitive high pitched ringing noises. Please await for further instructions.” The robot chanted off in a chirpy tone as a few blinking lights ran up and down the walls around the scanner, signaling assistance would be there shortly.
The captain of Vimsy’s crew glanced over at them from his spot at the map boards and exhaled, pinching the bridge of his nose for a moment. He glared at them as they chuckled nervously, not being able to move much due to the metal arm.
“What have you possibly done this time. Don’t tell me you tried to sneak that…thing, onto the planet. We don’t know if it’s contagious!” He snapped and motioned his arms around in frustration, before looking over at the so called ‘assistance’ the arm was talking about. A rather cheery looking employee came over, two small horns dawning her head. She could have had animal legs as well, but it was hard to tell with the uniform she was wearing.
“Hello!!!~ I’m Bil, and I’m afraid you’ve set off the security alarms! Is it okay with you if we do a full scan?” Bil questioned and tilted her head, holding a clipboard close to her chest.
“That won’t be necessary. My crew member brought their…pet.. aboard, and seemed to have tried to bring it into town as well.” The captain replied and glared at Vimsy once more before looking back towards the horned employee.
“Oh, okay! Well, pets have to go through a different section of security. Do you mind if I see the little fellow?” She smiled and held out a small metallic box with a cushion at the bottom, probably meant to transport smaller creatures.
Vimsy bit their lip and replied with a small nod, pulling out the small reptile before gently setting it inside the container. The employee smiled at them and pushed a button on the box, closing the see through lid. She hummed a soft tune, most likely a song from the radio, as she sat the box on a conveyor belt in the wall. The container shot through to the other side for scanning, the reptile letting out a small shrieking noise as the lasers went around it. As the box slowly slid back into the room the arm holding Vimsy retracted, earning a deep breath from them.
“Well, looks like you’re good to go! Enjoy your stay!” The employee chirped and handed the small lizard like creature over once more, who promptly plopped itself on Vimsy’s head. She then placed the box back down and spun around, going off to help someone else.
“What in the watcher’s name were you thinking! You could have gotten arrested!” The captain huffed and crossed his arms, his voice sounding much like you would expect a canine to be if they could speak. The captain was a startling 5'8, much taller than Vimsy was in comparison. He had wide brown eyes, his ears pointed towards the back of his head. He dawned somewhat of a darker skin tone, but was for the most part hard to tell what it was as he was also had quite a lot of fur.
@impossiblerebelblaze suggested a 'Sharing cookies' prompt, so I took that and came up with this!
Word Count: 478
Trigger Warnings: Food mentions, most of this is about food.
"What's that smell?" Vimsy sniffed the air and wandered into the room, hopping up onto a counter in the kitchen of the ship. It was quite high tech compared to the living quarters, with most of the appliances and surfaces being able to fold back into the wall. The shorter alien's eyes grew wide with excitement - which was a bit strange, as their eyes were already quite large.
"Are those cookies? I want one!" They chirped and leaned forward to grab one off of the tray, only to get their hand smacked away. The cookie baker's name was Kire, and she was quite talented at her job. She was part of a similar species to Vimsy, though had a few differences - the most obvious being she had three eyes instead of Vimsy's two.
"You have to wait until they cool, otherwise they'll burn you. Besides, I still don't understand how chocolate works.. It could be poison for all I am aware of." Kire explained and pursed her lips together, setting the baking tray on a countertop.
"…Poison? Don't we have a solution for that in the medbay if it is?" The other questioned and tilted their head, swinging their legs back and forth. "Even if it WAS lethal it wouldn't be that bad."
"…Alright, fair facts. Take one." She smiled and nodded, nudging it towards them before hesitantly grabbing a treat herself. She sniffed the top of it and smiled at the scent, taking a tiny bite of it as a precaution. The girl giggled as Vimsy took a larger bite, burning the top of their mouth and immediately dropping it back onto the tray.
"HOT HOT! EMERGENCY!" They exclaimed in pain, trying to fan off their tongue. They took a deep breath and frowned at Kire's giggles, teasingly shoving her. Kire simply rolled her eyes and chuckled, going back to nibbling on her own.
"Don't take too many- I still have to make sure I have enough for the dinner tonight, the Captain is supposed to be there this time." Kire nodded and motioned at the tray, raising a brow as she watched them stuff cookies into their mouth like a chipmunk. Vimsy coughed a bit and forced a smile, crumbs falling from their chin. With a few coughs and lots of chewing the treats eventually went down, gaining a teasing glare from Kire.
"What did I just say?"
"….To not leave any because you were going to make dinner?" They answered and nodded confidently, hopping off the counter.
"….No. I didn't."
"…Well..uhh… Oh, look at the time! Better get back to work!" Vimsy chuckled nervously before pointing up at a clock, racing out of the kitchen.
"VIMS- …What's the point." The baker chuckled and shook her head, patting down her apron as she went back to the recipe book to continue with her work.
