Hofstra Celebrates Mentors Who Nurture Creativity and Research

For the first time in its 13-year history, Hofstra’s Mentor of the Year Award will recognize two outstanding faculty members – one who has inspired creativity among students and the other for nurturing research activity. Associate Professor of Drama and Dance Christopher Dippel and Associate Professor of Computer Science Jianchen Shan will be recognized at the Celebration of Scholarly Excellence ceremony at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Dean Renee McLeod-Sordjan Becomes First Nurse Inducted Into International Academy of Perinatal Medicine

It is noteworthy that Renee McLeod-Sordjan is the first nurse to be inducted into this group of over 100 international academic leaders based on her record of excellence in nursing administration and professional ethics,” said Frank A. Chervenak, vice-president of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine and associate dean for international medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
