Away from Iga Mountains, Goemon was merely minding his own business on searching some various treasure to sell and give cash to the poor which is his usual habit. Doesn’t usually care about people but after he encountered Kai, whose clan from Hojo knew that there were people trapped somewhere in Tao River. which is a territory of China.

He had to let go of treasure hunting and save them as soon as possible along with the lady. Goemon can’t say no to this one.

“Before we head there, are you really sure there’s trapped people in that place?!”

     “Ah, you are too kind, Lady Kai,” Xun hastily pushes aside the scattered papers on his desk. Weariness clouds his normally cheerful features, yet he’s ever so gracious in accepting a freshly-cooked meal. The growling of his stomach had bothered him for hours, yet he hadn’t wished to break concentration from his studies. 

     “Have you spent the entire day cooking?” he inquires, readying the chopsticks.

     With the chaos brought upon this realm, soldiers sought a moment’s peace between each battle. Striving to hone her craft, Okuni gladly entertained the weary. In front of foreign faces, the dancer chose themes that would resonate among the masses. Beginning this particular performance with deliberate halts and stiff motions, Okuni embodied the stifled soul who yearned for freedom. Okuni was well-versed in sharing stories through dance, and her performance gradually enraptured the audience. Over time, her intended blunders became sweeps and extensions that exerted raw power. It was even difficult for those in front to meet Okuni’s gaze as she twirled across her stage. Amidst the cheers, however, the dancer noticed a lone figure standing far from the crowds. The figure remained there as the performance concluded and the last of the audience members dispersed.

     Perhaps an unhappy attendee?  Criticism and Okuni’s craft came hand-in-hand, yet they surely would have left if this were the case. She would approach the situation with curiosity.

     “My, after such tiring battles, it is nice for everyone to unwind. Did you enjoy the performance?”
