“You let them do what now?”
@hokuten
❝ Maa, maa, don’t say that. ❞
Kakashi watches his fellow jounin down another drink ( why is Kakashi at a bar anyway when he doesn’t drink? ). A moment of silence passes between them as the noise from around them fills the pause while the silver haired jounin looks up to observe the woman thoughtfully. He’s probably not in the position to give advice, given his own inexperience with women. Nevertheless, he’s going to offer his support anyway.
❝ You’ll never know unless you try. ❞
“You don’t want me.” // from sakura :')

a prompt from long ago
“I don’t know how to want you,” is his harsh hiss.
The words are broken glass in his mouth, rough and sharp. That’s just one of the many layers that will forever separate them.
He snaps his head to avoid her gaze. His jaw tightens as he grinds his back teeth together. A flush of anger working it’s way from his stomach, up past his chest, rising to his throat, seeking to be released from his mouth. Ugly, twisted words to get her to see that he’s not worth wanting. Anger at himself for still being….him.
She needs to see that. Take off the filters and view him for the mess he truly is.
There is nothing to want.

The first time Minato sees Kakashi execute the...
“I’ll be fine,” Kakashi insists, stubborn in the way boys his age are. The urge to retract his hand and keep his distance from Minato’s gentle hands is strong. Another’s touch that doesn’t possess the intent to harm is something he’s not used to, doesn’t know how to these days, with his empty house and empty heart — but Kakashi remains still and sucks in a sharp breath when the movement stings his open flesh. (cont.) Dark gaze on his sensei's nimble fingers, Kakashi wonders if he'll ever be as strong as Minato. "I'm getting better --- it used to be worse." There's a hint of childlike petulance when he raises his eyes to the jounin, the beginnings of a pout hidden beneath his mask. "I didn't know you were watching. You shouldn't peep on your students, you know..."
He’s as inclined to believe that Kakashi is fine as he is to believing there’s no discrimination against the Uchiha in this village. His expression clearly says it all, one eyebrow raised, lips pressed in a thin line.
“I know only basic medical jutsu,” Minato says instead of commenting on Kakashi’s behavior, “But I have a first aid kit at my place. Unless you’d rather go to a hospital and have your hands checked out?”
It certainly didn’t help Kakashi’s case for Minato to hear that his previous training with this jutsu had been worse. He was suddenly glad that he’d decided to check on the boy, because who knew how long this would have gone on? Sharp eyes flickered up, and he gave his student a disapproving look.
“What if you had been seriously injured? Do you think I would have wanted to be informed of you being in the hospital?” Perhaps Minato was a hypocrite in that regard - he’d done a lot of things to end up in the hospital himself when it came to training.
“I only want to protect you, Kakashi. Why can’t you see that?!”
hokuten:
“He just, uh, overexerted himself training earlier. I’m sure you know what he’s like…” Kakashi recognises that look on Neji’s face as one he often sees on a younger Naruto and Sakura, and something in his chest clenches in an obscure feeling of guilt. But teaching his own techniques to Neji…? Kakashi palms at his nape, gaze drifting skyward as he mentally sifts through the arsenal of techniques he’s copied over the years. “Eto, I’m not sure what I can offer, though.”
“Gai-sensei normally teaches me taijutsu,” for obvious reasons, but Neji had accepted some time ago that he had learned to train his taijutsu from a master. Even considering who it was, he was not ashamed of it. “But taijutsu isn’t all I’m capable of.” Expanding the field was meant to make it easier for Kakashi to pick a technique. He hadn’t even thought it would make it more difficult.
